this tweet has been fucking killing me
Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.
Hit "view post" and lost it
Dahling you simply must read this book! It’s all about this devious little caterpillar who simply gorges himself on all manner of divine things
this is sort of sickening to me. can they swap
Love that you’re making it clear exactly what physical demands this job has, but could you possibly, potentially, phrase it differently?
My resume
so nice you see him twice
Wow... Bad ass...
Seriously badass and awesome 💗
I don’t know much about the world, but it seems like if you take #misinformation and add it to #truths, you end up with #misinformation.

potato battery? no. potato usually fried by itself. potato starchy enough to go in oil without batter
Potato battery? no, it only threatened you, which is assault
yes. good. fried potato taste very good with a salt
I am down with a migraine. Very dizzy. Expressed a desire for potato chips because I thought the salt might help.
Holly Mop who was beside me in bed got up and trotted into my office. Came back into the bedroom and very daintily spat out a single potato chip.
Which has revealed two things:
A) that she does understand more of what I’m saying, and in true Shih Tzu fashion, chooses not to listen and
B) there’s a stash of stale potato chips somewhere in my office I’ll need to find tomorrow.
Emphasis on tomorrow
I’ve got a Dogtor to cuddle today.

yo mama so hungry... her belly grumbling could wake the dead!
follow for more yo mama facts
yo mama so hungry... the grumbling of her belly could wake anyone from even the deepest slumber!
yo mama so hungry... a grumble of her belly could wake skeletons, dracula, and more!
yo mama so hungry... when her belly grumbled, frankenstein sat up and went "what was that sound?"
yo mama so hungry... the grumbling of her empty belly caused quite a stir!
yo mama so hungry on an airplane... her belly grumbles were mistaken for turbulence, and the other passengers left posthaste!
My dearest companion,
It is with utmost urgency that I commit to paper an occurrence so singular that I fear it may strain your credulity. I trust this message finds you in sound health and undisturbed repose, for I cannot say the same of those unfortunate enough to dwell within the vicinity of yo esteemed mama.
Having, by circumstances too tedious to recount, passed the evening beneath her roof, I was shortly after midnight awakened by a most dreadful and prolonged rumbling, so profound in its depth that I mistook it first for distant cannonade, then for an earthquake, and finally for the Last Trump itself. Imagine my astonishment upon discovering the disturbance emanated not from Heaven or the deepest bowels of Hell, but from the singularly vacant stomach of yo good mama.
The tumult was of such prodigious force that every sleeper in the household sprang from his bed in confusion. Even the old groundskeeper, who I know for a fact has slept through thunder-bolts and musket fire alike, emerged from his shack demanding to know who had sounded the alarm.
I entreat you, dear friend, to prevail upon yo mama to partake of a modest supper before retiring, lest her entire estate be compelled to awaken at the command of her insatiable stomach.
I remain, with every sentiment of esteem,
Your most obedient and humble servant,

Sorry I say this at least once a week, but I really miss when tech would use complicated words to tell you what's wrong instead of not telling you at all
Like yeah I don't necessarily enjoy having to parse several lines of keysmash to figure out what the issue is, but it certainly beats a broken device telling me You're all good! This device is fully usable.
I feel like there simply Must be a sweet spot in between 100% jargon and 100% useless but we just skipped that entirely
at this point, someone's got to have designed a dropdown select that gives you options ranging between Never Seen A Computer Before and Designed The Architecture in information density
