conceptually scott is Very Cool, but then you meet him and talk to him and you realize he’s actually just a dorky math teacher who is also a dad, but THEN you see him take out three guys with his eyes closed and you realize that his relationship to coolness is more complicated than ‘cool’ or ‘not cool’

Sony has been deliberately playing up symbrock since the first movie's unexpected success, and I love it, even though I'm being queerbaited, hook, line, and sinker.

They were trying to make a serious anti hero movie at first, but then they chickened out on an R rating, so they ended up making a goofier pg13 action fest...

Then it got panned critically...but audiences loved it for the dynamic those two goofballs had, plus the fact that it's venom, like come on.

So Sony went the full reverse, and went all out in Venom 2.

Making it cheesy, light spirited, just plain old silly. whimsical, even.

they break up, venom comes out as gay at a night club, then they kiss and make up, and go on an extended honeymoon together...

and now venom 3 is called till death do they part???

oh Sony.
