I haven’t seen either twins listen to metal music overall, so your assumption could be correct.” Jae replied a small nod satisfied with the Nyx’s answer, the rest of Team VNLA had met Nyx before but they knew him less as Nyx and more as ‘Van’s friend Nyx’ though from what they had heard about him from Van the guy didn’t seem to bad.

“So what times the gig? Oh actually here, put your number in.” Jae said as he pulled out his scroll from his back pocket, opening it and entering the pin he handed it to Nyx to put his number in. It would make the whole plan easier and more convient.

“I guess,” Nyx responds with a shrug. He didn’t consider himself a considerate person to most people, nor to Van really - perhaps he had a soft spot for the rabbit he hadn’t realised he had earlier?

What a ludicrous idea.

“Uh,” he says taking the scroll, eyes fixated on the screen whilst continuing to talk to Jae, “7pm, at the Vale music hall, but we can meet earlier if you wanna get food and y’know, get to know each other a little bit in the most platonic way possible.” He finally looks up after typing in his number, and hands it back to Jae with a certain dullness to his eyes.

“Food’s expensive inside, which is why I’m eating beforehand. Drinks are too which really blows, just to warn ya. Watcha wanna do?”

“Hm?” The blondes eyes widened just a bit. The question came out rather quickly, which made her worrisome. She hadn’t seen Night in quite some time, other than over their scrolls. The two were mostly busy what with homework and training at the time. “Oh, well, last time we saw each other he seemed fine. Lately we’ve been talking over our scrolls because we’ve both been busy… but hey, I've been keeping your lil bro safe!“ She stated proudly, pointing to herself with her thumb. The silliness faded almost immediately now looking more serious. “If you don’t mind me asking, did something happen?”

An offhand laugh is given at Azura’s comment, followed by an amused eyeroll, before expression turns dark as she queries his reasoning.

“You... don’t know?” Nyx asks, an eyebrow raised in questioning, “I thought everyone knew about it.” He bites the nail on his thumb nervously, wondering how he should go about addressing the issue at hand.

“It was,” he starts, pausing to chew at his lip in thought, “probably about this time last year. The undisclosed tragedy that caused three deaths. Night didn’t tell me exactly what happened, but he was there when it went down, and his boyfriend was one of the victims.” Something felt wrong about stating the information so clearly without tip toeing around the issue.

“But I guess he never told anyone he was there. That’s so typical of him I suppose. He’s always been one to block things out, and it frustrates the life out of me, but what can I do?” He removes the thumb from near his mouth and places a hand on his hip, leaning to one side and flipping his hair gently out of his eyes, a neutral expression on his face. He didn’t want her to actually answer that question, so his eyes darted anywhere other than Azura’s own to avoid receiving an actual lecture on how he should act if he was so bothered by it.

“Eh, my apologies for the lengthy dialogue,” he shrugs.

tfw someone asks about your oc’s and it makes you really happy but then you remember you have about 30 practically fully developed ocs and you sheepishly ask them, “which one,” and they say, “all of them,” so you’re just like, oh boy, strap yourself in coz this ride’s about to get bumpy.

“VERN, huh? Interesting. I’ll be sure to li-” There was a short pause when the blondes eye widened a bit. “Nocturne, oh, Night! I know him, we’re friends. He’s a good guy, I believed he mentioned a brother before. That must suck having to fight him, but hey, still good practice.”

He hums in approval, pursing his lips together absently.

“Guess so,” he huffs, not that he was overly upset by having to fight Night, but rather he was annoyed that fate had delivered that as their first round in the tournament.

“Is he... doing alright. My brother, I mean, has he been happier recently?” After everything that had happened last year with Night’s ex Ebene and his two classmates, Nyx couldn’t help but worry about the state his brother was in, especially after the two had had the bare minimum in terms of contact with each other. Neither were especially good at keeping in touch, so Nyx had no real way of knowing if Night had fully recovered from the tragedies.

Would you be so kind to reblog this if you feel like your muse is a part of you? Like, when you’re writing, you tend to get in character and sometimes the character slips out at random times in the day? I sometimes feel like I’m the only one who feels like it, I kinda wanna feel less alone lol

“Huh, me? Team V, E, R, N, or ‘fern’ if you prefer. I’m a Haven team. Fighting team nocturne in the tournament shortly. My little brother’s in that team, so I guess I’m not overly hyped for that fight, but you’ll get to see what I’m capable of then,” he laughs nervously, scratching at his nose.

Nyx follows with his own small, yet genuine, chuckle, sarcasm evident in his voice, “oh no, but what if it is a threat and my favourite noodle gets upset with me?”

Nyx sighs awkwardly, scratching at the hairs on his chin.

“I mean, with his ears, I didn’t exactly want to end up dragging him into something that’ll be really loud for him y’know. I feel like he might say yes if I asked but, still, I don’t wanna be the one to blame for deafening the guy,” Nyx admits awkwardly, feeling as though he was being slightly too quick to judge how much Van was capable of. Besides, he spent too much time with Van as it was, perhaps it was best he spent more time with other members of team VNLA, and this was the perfect excuse to do so.

Ren presented Nyx with a can of soda. "May I sit with you?"

“Hm,” he huffs, taking the soda first before really acknowledging the face that had presented it to him. He was thirsty, he must admit, so it was good timing and that made for an automatic positive in Nyx’s books. Had he seen this boy before?

Fingers trace over the cap of the can, a pout on his lips as he pulls the cap, the silence between them filling with a fizz as he takes the first sip. It was good soda.

“Sure,” he says finally, wiping his mouth against his sleeve, dim eyes trailing up to follow the boy’s movements as he sat whilst he slowly unravelled the identity.

“You’re my little brother’s, what is it, boyfriend or sumit?” he quips nonchalantly, yet no smirk lies on his lips. Leaning forward, an elbow rests against his knee lazily, giving off an image of disinterest as his chin finds itself nestle in the palm of his propped up hand, whilst the other swirls the can of soda as a distraction.

“You’re not here to ask for my permission to marry him are you?” His moan is followed by raised eyebrow. Did Ren take his words seriously, or recognise his manner of jest?
