no. that is against ao3’s terms of service.
anything that involves money is against their site’s terms of service. doesn’t matter if it’s commission or donation or anything. on ao3, you cannot mention or link anything that involves money.
ao3 is a nonprofit site known for hosting millions of works of others’ copyrighted characters. it has to stay nonprofit and forbid any mention of money on its platform to avoid getting sued left and right. I’ve said this before, but the only reason ao3 can exist as it is today is because its main rule is “nobody can use their site to ask people for money in any way, shape or form”.

AO3 has recently seen a rise in guest spambot comments making false accusations about work creators or other users. For example, they may claim that a particular user is discriminating against minorities, trying to hide the fact that they use AI, or are at risk of having their works stolen or deleted.
These comments often copy existing AO3 usernames in order to make their accusations seem more legitimate. They may also try to lure people onto other platforms (similar to the art commission scam), or use fake links that actually lead to pornographic images.
As always, we recommend that you do not click on any suspicious links or give your contact information to scammers. Instead, simply mark the comments as spam or report them so that the Policy & Abuse committee can remove comments left by these spambots.

How to recognize this kind of spam:
The comments come from guests, not logged-in users.
The comments may start with praise for you and your writing, trying to lull you into a false sense of security. Or they may claim that you are a bad writer, trying to make you too upset to realize that the comments are fake.
The comments may accuse you or another user of promoting discriminatory beliefs, deceiving fans, or similar behaviors that might cause other people to shun or harass the accused individual. They may claim that they checked social media to find that the accused user is "brazenly sharing hateful content" or "bragging about using AI".
The comments are often pleading or angry, asking you to "stop lying to your readers", "don't remove the AI prompts from your work", or suggesting that you "consider adding more diverse characters" to "repair the trust you've lost with your audience".
So far, these comments have all been from guests. Our advice is to flag them as spam to better filter them out.
To help train our automated spam-checker to block similar guest comments in the future:
If the comment is on your own work:
Go directly to the comment on your work, either by clicking on the link in your email or in your AO3 inbox.
Click on the "Spam" button to mark the guest comment as spam and remove it from your work.
Note: The "Spam" button only appears when viewing a guest comment directly on your work. This is because the AO3 comment inbox is merely a copy of the work's comments – deleting a comment from your AO3 inbox does not delete the comment from the work itself.
If you see comments like these on someone else's work:
Feel free to let the creator know the comment is from a bot, and that they should mark it as spam.
You can also report the comments as botspam via the Policy Questions & Abuse Reports form linked at the bottom of every page on AO3.
If you are reporting multiple guest comments, please submit only one report, and include all comment links in your report description. (You can get the direct link to any comment by clicking the "Thread" button on the comment, and then copying the URL of that page.)
So, the other day, when I was discussing AO3's policy on solicitation, a tumblr user came at me saying that AO3's "no monetization/solicitation" rules were "bullshit" because nexus mods allows fan created mods to get paid.

On one hand: the increasing level of political violence in the United States is very concerning, especially considering our gun problem. I do not want to live in a culture where assassinations are frequent, and it’s legit terrifying how much of a powder keg we’re in.
On the other hand: Charlie Kirk reaped what he sowed. It’s impossible to overstate the level of harm this man did. He acted as a propaganda arm for fascists and billionaires, advocated against the rights of women and minorities (he proudly said he would force his 10yo to give birth if she were raped and impregnated), and railed against reforming the very gun culture that killed him.
listen. i would love to get more Hansry content as much as any other person. a DLC focused solely on Hans would be amazing. would i cry if Hans showed up at Henry's forge in "Legacy of the forge"? yes i would. not to mention i literally started playing these games because i saw the Hansry scene. that being said... we all need to calm down a bit, i think, because i've already seen people shitting on Warhorse for not focusing on Hansry more in the marketing or being completely heartbroken that we're not getting any more romance content.
KCD2 is not a dating simulator. it's a realistic medieval RPG, which has the element of romance in it simply cause it's realistic to have them. Henry's and Hans's relstionship, especially if it turns romantic, elevates the story, yes, but it's not the point of the game. not to mention that, even if it seems like it when you're a tumblr user, not everyone romanced Hans, which means WH would need to create a similar amount of romance content for Katherine and Rosa as well. and given how each of those characters has a completely different role in the overall story, it would be super difficult to implement.
long story short, Warhorse have never even suggested they'd give us more Hansry content and Luke even said himself that he wasn't involved in the DLCs. we've all collectively imagined that something would happen and now we're sad or mad at Warhorse for not making it happen. i'm not saying that WH are perfect and can do no wrong, but i just don't think we're being fair here.
