Stay In My Life (School 2026) - Introducing: Shim Sunghoon
And Yes. I know he's a Xavier
SHIM SUNGHOON (ìŹì±í)
17 years old âą High school student âą Trainee
Soyeon's best friend and Neighbor, dreaming of one day standing on the biggest stages as a idol. Behind his calm smile and sleepiness at lessons are countless hours of practice, unwavering determination, and an unshakable belief in his dream. During school breaks, he's usually found in the gym, perfecting the same choreography over and over again.
He's not someone who speaks loudly about his ambitionsâhe'd rather let his actions speak for him.
If your webtoon becomes popular, I'd love to be in the lead role in its film adaptation. Sunghoon to Soyeon
We fought for Valko, we hoped to get him back, but the day of judgment has already come. We will have five Love Interests left, and all updates have already changed to Plan B if Valko does not debut. We have been given everything we were promised, but without our beloved wolf. I am deeply disappointed with what is happening to the game and how the opinions of global fans are not being taken into account.
I'm going through all the maps I haven't gone through, logging into the game every day until I get 30 Deepspace wishes, and deleting the game. Thank you for all the six months I've spent in it. Thank you for reading my Dragon fanfiction and supporting me on this side of the fandom. Now, see you next summer.
Thank you. These were the best hunts of the last six months.
Every month, the full moon rises over Linkon City.
It has always been my favorite time of the month. The city grows unusually quiet, and the silver moonlight spills across the rooftops, turning familiar streets into something almost magical. I could spend hours gazing at the view from my apartment window. But the beauty of the full moon isn't the only reason I cherish it.
It was the full moon that changed my life.
I grew up in an ordinary family of animal rescuers. While other children spent their days playing outside, I helped my parents care for injured animals. Back then, I had no idea what my Evol would become, so I simply devoted myself to what I loved most.
Everything changed on the night of my fifth birthday. Under my very first full moon, I woke up with fluffy fox ears and a matching tail. My parents were startled at first, but it didn't take long for them to realize there was nothing to fear. They accepted me exactly as I was, and from that day on, I began learning how to control my second nature.
A few years later, my Evol finally awakened. At first, I accidentally summoned gusts of wind and sudden rainstorms. With time and countless hours of training, I learned to command the weather at will.
When I turned fifteen, I enrolled in the Hunters Academy. By day, I was just another student. But every new moon and every full moon, I disappeared into a place hidden from ordinary eyes, taking on missions as a mercenary hunter. That was also when I crafted my fox maskâthe symbol people would eventually come to recognize.
After graduation, I became an independent hunter. I occasionally accepted commissions from the Hunters Association, but most of the time I worked alone while researching Protocores and the mysteries of Evol.
I'm nineteen now. My phone suddenly vibrated.
"Hello? MC speaking."
I listened in silence for a few seconds.
"Understood. I'm on my way."
Another mission. I climbed onto the rooftop of a skyscraper and, without a second thought, stepped into the empty air. The wind embraced me. Only a few meters remained before I would hit the ground... Then, without warning, a broad platform of metal rose beneath my feet.
I pushed off it instinctively. Another one appeared. Then another. It was as if someone were building a staircase for me in midair. I landed smoothly on the rooftop across from me and immediately tensed.
I knew one thing for certain. That wasn't my power. A tall figure emerged from the darkness. His face was hidden beneath a hood and a mask, but that was enough for me to notice the details that mattered most. Gray wolf ears. A long, fluffy tail. Without realizing it, I smiled as I adjusted my fox mask.
A wolf. So the rumors were true. It seemed... Tonight's hunt had only just begun.
I love how our LaDS fandom is resurrected by the Twilight fandom. I'll start reading all the Books myself soon, and then watching Movies. I think I'll like it.
The gym was packed. Students, parents, teachersâhalf the neighborhood seemed to have shown up for the championship game. Caleb's team was leading, and halftime was almost over. Behind the curtains, I stood with the rest of the cheer squad, nervously fixing my ponytail for what felt like the tenth time.
"You know, if you keep doing that, your hair's going to fall out," Tara laughed.
"I'm not nervous."
She gave me a look.
"Sure."
The music started. Our cue.
We ran onto the court as the first notes of Hollaback Girl filled the gym. The lights were bright. The crowd cheered. And somehow, all the nerves disappeared.
One step. Two steps. Turn. Jump. Everything we'd practiced finally came together. On the other side of the court, the basketball team was taking a break.
Caleb sat with a water bottle in his hands, barely listening to his coach. Until he looked up. And saw me.
"Hey, Xia" one of his teammates nudged him. "That's your sister, right?"
"Yeah."
"She's pretty good."
Caleb didn't answer. He just kept watching.
I made the mistake of looking toward the bench. There he was. Smiling. That smile. The one that always meant trouble. Then he gave me a thumbs-up. Right in the middle of the routine. I nearly laughed.
"Dude," another teammate whispered. "You're smiling."
"So?"
"You're proud of her."
"I'm not."
"Really?"
"..."
"You're about to say it, aren't you?"
Caleb sighed. "She's worked really hard."
"There it is."
"And she's talented."
"There it is again."
"You done?"
"Nope."
"...Yeah."
"...That's my sister."
When the performance ended, the whole gym applauded.
Backstage, my phone buzzed.
đ Caleb
Not bad.
A second message appeared almost immediately.
đ Caleb
Still not as cool as basketball though :)
"CALEB!"
Even across the gym, I could see him laughing. And I couldn't stop smiling.
When Caleb's team won the championship, he picked me up before I could even protest. The whole walk home, he carried me in his arms while I proudly held a tiny replica of the school's trophy.
After all... We both won that day.
"The season is officially over!" Caleb announced dramatically.
I laughed.
"And now the school has to face a terrible truth."
"Oh?"
"Their biggest basketball star is graduating."
I pretended to think about it. It was true. Soon, I'd still be walking through those hallways. And Caleb would be off to Flight Academy. For a moment, neither of us said anything.
Then he gently adjusted the trophy in my hands.
"You know," he said, "you're going to have to cheer twice as loud next season."
I smiled.
"Only if you promise to come watch."
"As if I'd miss it."
And I knew he meant it. No matter how busy he'd become... He'd still drive me to school whenever he could. We'd still take random detours around the city. We'd still argue over music while waiting for our food at our favorite diner. We'd still laugh at the same old jokes.
Some things would change. But some things never would. Because no matter where life took us... We'd always find our way back to each other.
I don't know how deeply I love him. At first, I thought I was falling for a dangerous man â a classic antihero.
But over time, I realized that I had found something completely different in him. I found the kind of love I had always dreamed of.
Gentle. Caring. The kind of love where I feel like the most precious treasure in his world.
That's why, after writing my Mafia AU, I find myself wanting to write less about his dangerous side and more about our everyday life together. About quiet happiness. About the comfort of home. About the kind of love inspired by his Husband Material Memories.
And maybe that's why I now want to tell stories about the life I imagine sharing with him.
"Tell me that i'm special, Tell me that i'm your little angel. Tell me i'm loved. I just want to be Number One Girl in your eyes"
My AU, In which Caleb is the MC's older brother. The difference between them is five years
I've been putting this AU together in my head for a long time and finally decided to make it into a full-fledged story. This is not an attempt to rewrite the canon, but rather my personal interpretation of the MC and Caleb relationship, with an emphasis on family and a sense of home.
If there is a tragedy in the canon, then I will name it as the tragedy in ZZZ, that is, "The Fall of the Old Capital." MC was three years old at the time, since then Caleb had to grow up earlier, and the two of them start living with their grandmother.
He starts taking care of MC, not noticing how sometimes his brother's care becomes a duty.
They grew up in the same house, and he spent most of his time in his room. She would sit next to him while he played, getting in his way, and he would get annoyed when she took his things, but he still loved her.
It was one of those evenings at home. Grandma was cooking dinner while Caleb and I were in his room, and I was watching him play video games. I asked him a question.
"Can I have one too?"
Caleb just looked at me and said. "You're not old enough for these games, Pipsqueak."
I pouted, but then he gave me the controller and started teaching me. When I was 13 and he was 18, he bought me games I'd been wanting to play, and it was better than the flowers that boys in our neighborhood gave to girls.
Caleb is still the same brother who constantly makes fun of her, tells absurd stories from his childhood, or recounts recent events to Zayne when he and his parents visit them.
It was when I was seven years old. Mr. and Mrs. Lee came to visit us again, along with Zayne. We were in my room, which was quiet for such evenings. We always chose my room as a neutral option, because knowing Caleb's relationship with Zayne, Zayne would probably say something about Caleb's interests, so we sat in my room.
"Grandma let us have some cookies!" I entered the room with a bowl of cookies. They were my favorite, with chocolate chips.
"Just watch how much you eat." Zayne.
"Agreed, or you'll turn into chocolate." Caleb teased me as always.
"What are we watching?" I asked, taking a cookie.
"Remember how you hid behind me after the horror movie?" Caleb reminded me of that moment. Even though Zane was in the room with us.
"You made me watch it!" I said in response.
Because you said, "I'm an adult now."
Caleb himself remains the same as in the canon. That is: Protects MC, sometimes teases her, is very attentive to her, constantly makes fun of her and takes a lot of responsibility for her. After all, "If I don't protect her, no one will." Further on the original plot, Caleb goes to the DAA and becomes a pilot, and MC gives him a necklace with a badge, and this is his anchor, which helps him to feel her near, despite the distance.
When Caleb returns after a long separation, MC understands: this is still her brother. But at the same time, he's a different person. But he still: Wears the pendant she gave him, remembers her habits, knows when she's lying, and continues to care about her even when he pretends to be indifferent. And of course, he still calls her "Pipsqueak."
This story is not about romance. It's about: An older brother who always comes home
A sister who grew up with him
Habits that don't disappear even after years
And people who know each other too well
Even as adults, MC can still enter his room without knocking, Caleb still feels the need to interfere in her life, they still argue over trivial matters, and they are still the closest people to each other.

The exam started after our fourth class. I was really hoping for a good result. We'd studied together for days, and Haneul's older sister had even helped us prepare. As soon as the papers were handed out, I got to work. Some of the problems were easier if I translated them into what I liked to call "the Lee family language"âturning them into situations from our restaurant. Somehow, that always made things simpler.
I finished in half an hour. For the rest of the exam, I looked around the classroom. Minji was secretly checking her cheat sheet. Haneul was filling page after page of rough work. Sunghoon was doing his best not to fall asleep. And Eunho⊠Eunho stayed focused from beginning to end. He finished on time as well.
"Shim Sunghoon." The teacher called his name.
Sunghoon jerked awake. "I'm sorry. I'm working on it."
The teacher smiled. "I'll try not to be too harsh."
I couldn't help smiling too. Sunghoon spent almost every afternoon training at his agency. It wasn't surprising that he was exhausted. After the exam, I found him in the gym. His phone was attached to a tripod, playing a dance practice video while he repeated the choreography.
"Practicing?"
"A TXT sunbae cover. We're preparing one."
I nodded.
At that moment, our KakaoTalk chat started buzzing.
Eunho: Where are you guys? I'm thinking about stopping by the convenience store.
Minji: I have classroom duty. Sunghoon, you're helping me today.
Haneul: I'm heading home early. My parents need help at work.
I typed my reply.
Soyeon: I'll go with you if you don't mind.
A peach sticker with little hearts popped up almost instantly.
"I should go help Minji," Sunghoon said, packing his bag.
Then he headed back to the classroom.
Sunghoon's POV
I told them I had to help with classroom duty. Honestly⊠I just needed to leave. The music was still ringing in my ears. Counting. Steps. Repeats. Over and over again. I'd messed up the choreography earlier than I should have. And I hadn't even tried to start again.
My phone was still sitting on the tripod. The video kept playing. I just stood there. I should've kept practicing. But my body wouldn't listen.
I rubbed my face. Slowly. Too slowly. Exams. Training. Another exam. And somewhere between all of that⊠Soyeon. She offered to help like it was nothing. Like she had all the time in the world. I laughed quietly. She was always like that. Doing things for people⊠And never making a big deal out of them. Like yesterday. I tightened my grip on my backpack strap. I still hadn't thanked her properly.
My phone vibrated. The class chat. Eunho. I thought about him for a second. Too composed. I picked up my bag.
"âŠI'd better go help Minji."
I met Eunho outside the school gates. Together, we headed to the nearest convenience store. The cashier greeted us, and we split up to look around. Without thinking, I grabbed a pack of Chapagetti, some kimchi, and a carton of orange juice. At the register, I noticed Eunho's choices. Cheese Samyang ramen. Buldak kimbap. A can of coffee. We prepared our ramen and pressed the lids down with chopsticks. I noticed Eunho doing exactly the same thing.
"Three minutes."
"You timed it?"
"I just know."
He nodded and poured his coffee into a paper cup.
"Do you always drink coffee?"
"It's a habit."
"A very grown-up habit."
He smiled a little. "It makes you stand out."
When the ramen was ready, I mixed in the sauce packets and took the first bite. Eunho reached for the kimbap. His expression changed immediately.
"Too spicy?"
"I'm fine."
He clearly wasn't. I held out my orange juice.
"It'll help."
He accepted it. Soon, we were both quietly eating.
"Do you always get this combination? Chapagetti, kimchi, and juice?"
I swallowed my food and smiled.
"It's the closest thing to what we make at home. Minji already told you, right? My mom owns a tteokbokki restaurant. But she also makes the best jajangmyeon ever."
I laughed.
"When you visit, you have to try it."
He nodded. Then I asked, "So⊠tell me more about yourself."
For a moment, his expression changed. There was hesitation. Then it disappeared. "My parents want me to be the best in the family," he said.
"So I study hard."
"I recently moved into an apartment near school. They help with the rent."
I nodded. Somehow⊠It didn't sound as ordinary as he wanted it to. We spent the rest of our meal talking about our hobbies. He already knew that I drew webtoons. Sunghoon was preparing to become an idol. Haneul came from a family of lawyers. Minji still hadn't decided what she wanted to do.
"What about you?" I asked.
This time, he answered easily. "I write music sometimes. And poetry. I play golf with my father on weekends. Being outside helps me think. You should try it sometime."
He was creative too? That was unexpected. After lunch, I packed my things.
"I should head to the bus stop."
"I'll walk you there."
I agreed.
We walked quietly, leaving a comfortable distance between us. We'd only known each other for two days. It felt safer that way.
"I don't have work today," I said.
"Maybe our group could hang out tonight? If Sunghoon gets off early."
"Sounds nice."
I nodded. Then suddenlyâ I stumbled. My shoelace had come undone.
"Here. Let me help."
He crouched down to tie it. For some reason⊠The moment felt like something out of a fairy tale. Before I could stop myself, I took out my phone and snapped a picture. The shutter clicked.
"You took a picture of me?"
"Why?"
"Inspiration struck."
He looked at me. Then he understood. The bus arrived a few minutes later.
"See you tonight?"
He nodded. The doors closed. I took my usual seat. A moment later, I felt something soft inside my backpack. I reached inside. A bungeoppang. I was sure I hadn't bought one. Did Eunho I smiled. I'd thank him later. For now⊠See you tonight.
Eunho's POV
The bus pulled away. I stayed at the stop. Quiet. I looked down at my hands. I could still remember tying her shoelace.
"âŠThat was stupid."
I shouldn't have done that. People remembered little things like that. My phone buzzed. Messages. I ignored them. Instead, I went back into the convenience store. A warm bungeoppang sat in the display case. I picked one up. Paused. Then walked outside. She was already heading toward the bus stop. I caught up before I could change my mind. She didn't notice. I opened her backpack. Just for a second. That was enough. The bungeoppang slipped inside. Like it belonged there. I stepped back. She turned around too late to notice.
I smiled to myself. "âŠWe're even."
But that wasn't really true. It felt more like⊠a beginning.

âClass.â The teacherâs voice cut through the noise. âWe have a new student.â
The door opened. And the moment he stepped inside, something in me froze. I had seen him before. Ash-gray hair, neatly styled. Calm posture.
And his eyesâ I tightened my grip on my pen. Too familiar. Like I had already drawn them.
âYou can call me Eunho. I hope we get along.
His uniform looked⊠too perfect. No creases. Tie perfectly aligned. Everything about him felt controlled. Careful. Not like the version that kept appearing in my sketchbook.
I caught myself staring more than once during class. Each time, I forced myself to look down at my notes, pretending to write. When my name was called, I almost felt relieved.
âLee Soyeon.â
I stood up and walked to the board. The problem was simple. Numbers always made sense to meâprobably because of the restaurant. I unconsciously translated everything into something familiar, something practical. The answer came quickly.
âExcellent, as always.â
I nodded and returned to my seat. Thatâs when I noticed it. A bookmark.
I never left it there. I always marked the page I was currently working on. But this one was at the very beginning.
I opened the sketchbook. A note slipped out.
âThe new guy was watching you solve the problem.
â Sunghoonâ
I glanced back. Eunho was already looking down at his notebook, rewriting the problem. As if nothing had happened.
During the break, I opened my sketchbook again. My pencil moved almost on its own. Lines turned into shapes. A profile. Eyes. Details I didnât remember deciding on. I tried to keep it subtle. It wasnât easy.
Classes passed, but I couldnât quite pull my attention away from him. Not completely. It wasnât just curiosity anymore. It was something else. Something I didnât want to name yet.
After school, I went to the back courtyard. It was quieter there. Easier to think. I took out my notebookâthe one where I wrote my story. And for the first time, I hesitated. Why had I even decided that this character should be real?
âHave you been here long?â
I looked up. Eunho
âSince classes ended. Iâm waiting for my brother.â
He nodded. Then paused. Like he was deciding something. He gestured lightly toward the space next to me. I gave a small nod. He sat down. Not too close. But not distant either.
âDid they already add you to the class chat?â
âYeah. Minji did.â
A short pause. Of corse Minji. Sheâs is the main ringleader of our group, and of course, she's the first one to approach him. That's why she's the vice president of our class.
âWe also have a separate chat. Just⊠our group.â
I wasnât sure why I said it.
âDo you want me to add you?â
He looked at me more carefully this time.
âIf thatâs okay.â
I showed him the QR code for our KakaoTalk chat, and he joined.
Minji: í he joined already???
Haneul: That was fast
Minji: WELCOME đ„đ„
Minji sent a sticker (a screaming peach character)
Eunho: Hello
Minji: omg heâs polite
Haneul: Minji, behave
Minji: I AM behaving
Right on time, my brotherâs car pulled up. âI should go.â I quickly packed my things.
âSee you tomorrow, Lee Soyeon.â
âSee you.â
As soon as I got into the car, Soobin glanced at me through the mirror.
âWho was that?â
âThe new student. He transferred today.â
He nodded. On the way, I opened our chat.
Me: If anyone wants, you can come by the restaurant later
Haneul: I need to study for the exam
Sunghoon: I have practice at the label today, not sure Iâll make it
Minji: Sunghoon-ah, youâre always training đ take a day off
Sunghoon: Theyâre not giving us days off right now. Sorry.
A new message appeared.
Eunho: What kind of restaurant?
I smiled. Maybe one day he really would come. It would be nice if he tried Momâs tteokbokki.
Minji: Soyeon's mom owns a restaurant on Hongdae. Be sure to check it out.
The restaurant felt the same as always. Warm. Loud. Familiar. I changed into my work shirtâthe one already stained with sauceâand got back to helping. It wasnât too busy today. Mostly students. Regulars. Mom talked to them like they were family.
My phone buzzed in my apron pocket. I wiped my hands and checked.
Sunghoon: Thank you for the tteokbokki yesterday.
I paused. Something warm settled in my chest. But for some reasonâŠmy thoughts drifted somewhere else. Back to Eunho. The way he listened in class. The way he didnât hesitate to help with cleaning dutyâeven on his first day. The way everything about him felt⊠composed. Too composed.
I picked up my sketchbook again. And added something new to the character. More restraint. Less freedom.
Later, on the bus, Sunghoon was asleep again. This time, I didnât have a container with me. I just hoped heâd eat properly at home. When we got off, he spoke first.
âThat new guy⊠heâs interesting.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âDid you see how focused he was? And how he volunteered to help Minji?â
I shrugged.
âMaybe heâs just well-raised.â
Even the way he wore his uniform said that much. Unlike Sunghoon, who often replaced his blazer with a cardigan, Eunho looked like someone who wouldnât. Like someone who couldnât.
âMy mom says you should eat properly today,â I added. âNot just instant ramen. You know she treats you like youâre my brother too.â
He nodded. At home, I put on my headphones and cleaned my room before studying. Tomorrow was the law exam. I should review everything again. Minji would probably play audio notes in the background. Haneul had her sister to help.
And then I thought about Eunho. Was he ready? It was only his first day. I hesitated for a moment. Then sent the message anyway.
Me: We have a law exam tomorrow. Here are some notes from my notebook. It might help a little.
The reply came faster than I expected.
Eunho: Thank you.
I stared at the message for a second longer than necessary. Simple. Direct. No distance. Strange. But⊠not unpleasant. I sent a sticker in responseâa small bear holding hearts. Probably better not to draw tonight. Not yet. I lay down, checked my planner, and closed my eyes.
Tomorrow, Iâll definitely do well on the exam. But for some reason, that wasnât the last thing on my mind.

An empty school corridor. I was late for class. But when I opened the classroom doorâno one was there. I froze, confused. Then I heard it. A sharp, rhythmic sound. Too familiar. An alarm.
I woke up abruptly. My phone was overflowing with messages. The class group chat was already active.
Haneul: Final exams are something we shouldâve started preparing for two years ago.
Minji: Soyeon will be fine. She memorizes everything easily.
Haneul: Sheâll probably end up helping Sunghoon too.
I smiled faintly. They werenât wrong. Yesterday, though, there had been no time for studying. My mom, my brother, and I were working in our family restaurant until evening.
â Soyeon! Make sure they donât overcook! Soobin, whatâs ready for serving?
Mom has been running the restaurant for a long time, but since Soobin and I grew older, he became her right hand. While I was cooking tteok, Subin was checking the sauces, and mom was at the counter. When the big orders were done, mom looked at the clock.
â Good job, Team Lee. Soyeon, you can go home. Weâll close soon and be there too.
I nodded and went to the bus stop. When I got on the bus, I noticed Sunghoon sitting in the back. He was already asleep, and his sports bag was at his feet. I sat next to him and just adjusted the bag so it wouldnât fall, so I wouldnât wake him up. His training must have been exhausting.
Me: Girls, has anyone started preparing for the law exam?
Minji: Why did you remind us about that only now?
Haneul: Good thing my older sister is a lawyer. She can help sometimes.
Sunghoonâs phone didnât make any sound from the chat. As usual, it was on silent. When it was our stop, I had to wake him up.
â Sunghoon. Wake up. â I gently shook his shoulder.
He moved and opened his eyes.
â Soyeon. Itâs you.
â Wake up. This is our stop.
When we got off the bus, I offered to carry his bag, because he must have been tired after training. At first he refused, saying, âGirls shouldnât carry heavy things,â he said it so automatically. But in the end he gave up.
â The law exam is soon. â he looked at his phone.
â Iâm trying to prepare. â I answered. â If you want, I can help you, or ask Haneul.
He nodded. We reached the building, and I took out my key. In the elevator, he leaned against the wall and closed his eyes again. I glanced at him. Then at his bag. Before I could overthink it, I opened it. The container was still warm in my hands. I placed it carefully inside. Paused. What if he misunderstands? What if he thinks I pity him? âŠWhat if he notices? I hesitated for a second. Then zipped the bag closed anyway. Too late to change my mind.
When the elevator stopped on my floor, Sunghoon woke up again and I give him his bag.
â See you tomorrow, Soyeon.
â See you.
I went into my apartment, washed my face, and prepared for sleep. I reread everything for the exam and sketched a small flower. This time it was a lily, and in the corner a schematic drawing of a wolf. I wonder what that means?
When I was already asleep, mom and Subin came back. She asked him to check if I was sleeping, since I had school tomorrow.
POV Sunghoon
I donât remember how I got to my room. I think I just threw my bag somewhere near the door and fell onto the bed without even turning on the light. When I woke up, it was already dark.
My phone was dead. My head felt heavy. And for a second â a strange feeling, like I forgot something. I sat up and looked at my bag. It was in the same place. I didnât understand why I was even looking at it. I just opened it.
Everything was as usual. Clothes. Towel. Bottle. And⊠I froze. A container. I definitely didnât take it.
Soyeon.
I closed the bag. Then opened it again. As if checking if it would disappear. It didnât. I took the container. It was still a bit warm. The lid opened with a quiet click. The smell hit immediately â familiar, homemade. Tteokbokki.
I smirked slightly.
â So, secretlyâŠ
She didnât say anything. Didnât ask. Didnât leave a note. Just⊠put it there.
I sat on the bed, holding it. For a moment it became strangely quiet. Iâm used to people telling me what to do. Used to expectations. But not to someone just⊠thinking about me.
I took a bite. It was too spicy. And somehow that woke me up completely.
â You could at least sayâŠ
The words hung in the empty room. I didnât finish. I took another bite. For the first time that day, I felt not just tired⊠but noticed. I closed the container when it was almost empty. Carefully put it on the table. As if it mattered.
I took my a little charged phone, turned it on, opened the chat.
Typed: âDid you do that on purpose?â
Deleted.
Typed: âThank youâ
Deleted.
Closed it.
â Iâll tell her tomorrow.
But I already knew I probably wouldnât say it the way I wanted. And still⊠it would stay.
---------------
Now Iâm on my way to school again with Sunghoon. He carried my backpack together with his bag. We talked about the day ahead.
Minji: Weâll have a new student soon
Haneul: Donât rely on rumors. We should check first who he is.
Sunghoon took my phone and recorded a voice message.
â Girls. Listen. This is Sunghoon. I agree with Haneul. We should first get to know the person who is transferring. Letâs not rely on rumors. Letâs wait.
He returned my phone.
When we entered the classroom, Minji and Haneul were talking, and the class president was checking attendance. I opened my sketchbook and kept drawing until the bell rang. Sunghoon, as usual, was sleeping.
During break, I kept drawing. And suddenly, facial features started appearing. Sharp. Expressive. Eyes like rubies.
â Who is that?
Minjiâs voice startled me.
â No one! â I closed the sketchbook.
The bell rang again.
â Class! â the teacher said. â We have a new student.
The door opened. And a boy walked in. And it seems⊠my webtoon is starting to come to life.
Plot: An ordinary girl who had no idea about her family was drawn into an expensive, criminal life. A life full of money, riches, and silk. All for the sake of one man who promised to protect her.

Happy Birthday, my dragon. I love you so much.
It happened five months after our wedding. He came home just before dawn again. I didnât hear the door. Didnât hear him take off his jacket, didnât hear his footsteps in the hallway. I had fallen asleep before he returnedâfor the first time in a long while. But I knew. He was home. And that was enough for me to sleep peacefully.
I woke up before him. And the first thing I felt was a strange dizziness. The world blurred for a second. I sat up slowly, brushing a hand over my face⊠then made my way to the bathroom. My heart was beating faster. Too fast.
I stared at the test in my hands. Barely breathing. Two lines. I closed my eyes. And smiled. Softly. Almost silently. There it was. What I had been waiting for. What I had feared. And what suddenly⊠felt like the most right thing in my life.
He was still asleep. Deep. Calm. A rare state for him. I didnât wake him.
My hands trembled slightly as I prepared the gift. A small plush toyâhandmade. A tiny outfit. And a note. "Hi, daddy". I placed the tests inside. Closed the box. And stared at it for a long moment. As if it held something far greater than just news.A future.
By two in the afternoon, he woke up.I heard his footsteps before I saw him. Heavy. Slow. Still touched by sleep. I was standing by the stove when his arms wrapped around me from behind. Warm. Strong.
â How long did I sleep? â his voice was rough, low from sleep.
â From three in the morning to two in the afternoon⊠eleven hours. - Me.
A quiet chuckle. His lips brushed my temple. Lingering.
â A record.
He reached for the food without asking, stealing a bite with a fork. I smiled. An ordinary moment. If not for the life already growing inside me.
All day, I waited. Chose the right moment. Gathered courage. By evening, I found him in the living room. Sitting on the couch. Leaning slightly forward. A book in his hands. Focused. Calm. AlmostâŠlike an ordinary man. Not someone capable of burning the world to the ground.
I stopped in the doorway. My heart quickened again.
â SylusâŠ
He looked up. Immediately set the book aside. All his attentionâon me. As always.
â Did something happen?
I stepped closer. Tightened my grip on the box.
â I have something to tell you.
A faint tension crossed his face. His shoulders stiffened slightly. His gaze sharpened. He was used to expecting the worst. I placed the box on top of his book.
â Open it.
He didnât rush. First, he looked at me. Long. As if trying to read the answer before seeing it. Then he opened it.
Silence. His fingers stilled. On the fabric. On the tiny shoes. On the note. He read it.
"Hi, daddy".
Only then did he notice the tests. I saw it. The shift in his expression. Not sudden. Not obvious. Butâhis breathing changed.
â Sweetheart ⊠- His voice dropped. Deeper. Quieter. â ThisâŠ- He didnât finish. - Just looked at me.
For too long. And suddenly, I understoodâ he didnât know how to react. The man who controlled everything⊠had just lost control.
I stepped closer. Carefully.
â I love you⊠- softly. â So much.
He stood up. Slowly. As if afraid of moving too fast. And thenâ he pulled me into him. Strong. Almost sudden. I felt his hands tighten on my back. His face buried in my hair. And for the first timeâ his breathing wasnât steady.
â I love you too⊠- a pause. deeper. â Sweetheart.
He pulled back. His hand rose to my cheek. His fingers⊠slightly unsteady.
â Do you understand what this means? - He.
I nodded. His gaze dropped. To my stomach. And in his eyesâ for the first time. there was no coldness. No calculation. Only⊠fear. And something else. Something stronger.
â I wonât let⊠- his jaw tightened. â our child grow up in the same world.
His forehead rested against mine.
- Iâll do everything to protect you. - he.
Not a threat. Not a promise. A vow.
I took his hand. And gently placed it over me.
He froze. Thenâvery carefullyâhis fingers curled. As if afraid to hurt something fragile.
"Weâll be okay."
He closed his eyes for a moment. Exhaled.
- Now I have one more reason⊠not to lose.
I smiled. And in that moment, I understoodâthis wasnât just a happy ending. It was the beginning of our family.
