hi hi! how's it been going 👋 any headcanons you've come up with lately?

It's been going! Life has been busy. But as for head canons I got tons!

A couple of the SFW side being;

- Zalfe likes to be squished. Specifically she likes people to just lay on top of her like a weighted blanket when she snuggles/sleep piles with friends or family. That's cozy maxing for her.

- Loqua sleeps so deep that its routine for someone to panic and violently shake her from time to time forcing her awake just to verify that she isn't dead.

- on land, Fjord is a tummy sleeper. He doesn't like putting his weight on his back.

- Kohv loves back scratches and to have the top of his head petted.

- Zalfe also LOVES to have the underside of her head tail and the top of it scratched. Really any hard to reach areas she enjoys a good scritch.

- Breech loves sarcasm. And he's fluent in it.

- Zalfe snores. Not loudly but every so often you'll hear a gentle snork or whistle come out of her when she's snoozing. It's more noticeable if her face is squished up or buried against something/someone. And you know she's deep sleeping if she starts drooling as well.

- Fjord talks in his sleep. Nothing coherent and often mumbled. Zalfe keeps a list of the more memorable ramblings of Fjord.

- Kohv has a kitten sneeze. Loqua sneezes like an old man hacking.

Have you cooked up any details on your new oscar fish zora sona? :3c

Nothing too in detail yet especially as it's a Sona. I treat my sonas a lot less like ocs than some others might especially since my main Sona EOH is a polymorph eldrich horror spliced with a demonic imp, so I usually treat any fandom specific sona's as just fragments of her or her shape shifted. With the exception being my Zodiac Sona.

But I do recall someone asking about her necklace. Unlike my Zorphin her necklace doesn't have an exact meaning as it's a nod to my main Sona EOHs sentient octo-skull bowtie.

I'll def work out more details with time tho! She's just real early in the doll play process!

Nonhuman expressions of affection are great. Purring. Exposing weak points as a show of trust. Head bonks. Preening and chewing. Nuzzling. Biting. Intertwining tails. Feeding each other. I just had to finish 5 pieces for a march 31st deadline that had to take priority with how little free time work gave me in May. Introduction

Over the past few weeks, I've received numerous comments, questions, and messages all centered around one topic: Why does my Zora OC have breasts when canon Zoras don't?

Though factually incorrect, the frequency that the question has been raised and the air of misogyny which often accompanies it has made it increasingly frustrating to see repeated in the comments of my personal art.

Because this misconception appears to stem largely from unfamiliarity with the series' history and character designs, I've decided to put together a brief overview of the long and surprisingly consistent history of Zora breasts within the franchise. My goal is not only to address the question once and for all, but also to provide context for newer fans who may not have been involved with the fandom for as long.

So, let's talk about Zora knockers.

The Downfall Timeline

Zora have been a part of The Legend of Zelda series since the release of the original game in 1986. Due to the technological limitations of the time, their appearance in early titles was ambiguous. However, the game's official instruction booklet describes them as "half-fish, half-woman," providing one possible insight into their intended design. [Citation]

Thankfully, clearer understanding of their appearance can be gained by examining later games within the Downfall Timeline where the Zora are depicted in greater detail while retaining many of the characteristics established in the series' earliest depictions. 

One notable example is Queen Oren, the Zora Queen who appears in A Link Between Worlds. Oren is a distinctly full-figured character who features a prominent chest further emphasized by her shell-like bra. While her appearance is somewhat unique among the Zora seen in the Downfall Timeline, there is no indication within the game's canon that she is an exception to the species' biology.

Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask

The version of the Zora species most fans are familiar with today was introduced in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) and later expanded upon in its direct sequel, Majora's Mask (2000). These games established many of the visual and cultural traits that would come to define the Zora for years to come.

While the majority of named Zora characters featured in both titles are male, players are also introduced to two prominent female Zora characters: Princess Ruto, the heir to Zora's Domain in Ocarina of Time, and Lulu, the celebrated singer of the Indigo-Go's in Majora's Mask.

Notably, both characters are depicted with traditionally feminine body shapes, including prominent breasts. This is evident not only in their in-game models but also in official renders.

Twilight Princess

Twilight Princess was the best-selling game in the franchise until Breath of the Wild dethroned it in 2017. The game was widely praised for its striking visuals, compelling storyline, and more mature tone. But although it possesses many strengths, one stands far above the rest in this writer's admittedly biased opinion: Queen Rutella. 

Despite her limited screen time, Rutela leaves a lasting impression. Her design is graceful and regal, while her role in the story is imbued with a quiet tragedy that makes her one of the series' most memorable supporting characters. (At least in my opinion 😊🩷)

More importantly for the purposes of this discussion, Rutela's design continues a visual tradition that had already been established by earlier female Zora.

Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom

The two most recent mainline entries in the franchise, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, are landmark titles whose influence can be seen throughout the gaming industry. Breath of the Wild in particular was celebrated for reinventing the traditional Zelda formula, embracing a level of player freedom and open-ended exploration not seen in the series since the original game.

Among its many innovations was a vast open world populated by a diverse cast of NPCs. This represented a particularly significant change for the Zora in particular, as in previous titles, most Zora NPCs shared a model. By contrast, Breath of the Wild introduced Zora with different body types, color palettes, silhouettes, ect- allowing players to recognize them as individuals and giving us a clear look at what constitutes the species' visual baseline.

And do you know what's included in that baseline?

That's right: boobs. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Female Zora throughout Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are routinely depicted with visible breasts of varying sizes. They are no longer reserved to important story characters. Once Nintendo finally moved beyond recycling a handful of generic models and began depicting the Zora as a diverse population, breasts became a standard feature of female Zora design.

And of course that's just npcs. Zora girls with more significant roles in the story (Mipha, Yona, Qia) share the same traits.

In Conclusion.

From the very beginning, Nintendo has consistently portrayed female Zora with visible chests as part of their character designs for three decades. The characters listed above are clear examples that breasts have been a recurring and intentional feature of female Zora depictions throughout the franchise's history- effectively proving that Zora may exhibit secondary sexual characteristics similar to those of humans. This isn't new. So stop acting like it is, for the love of god 😭🙏

NEW ZORA DROP!

I purchased this lil critter from @the-prairie-rose, and I gotta say it was instant love.

You see, I've been struggling with a design for a Zora sona for a while. But I didn't even think about how close Oscar fish are to my already existing vtuber/main sona's colors. I used to own a bunch of Oscars as a kind IDK why I didn't think of one.

So I've decided to make this Oscar fish my official Zora Sona! I'll make a legit full-body ref of her later on, once I finish the kisses and spice prompts and a couple other things I wanna get done first! I just had to get this doodle done now in a frenzy

Setti-spagetti has some delightful colors, patterns, and shapes to work with. And I played with the various familial traits he could have inherited, like body type, eye shape/size, how tall his dorsal was, etc.

I drew this a few weeks ago, both for an art body type warm-up and cause i was curious about what the kiddo design I did last year, between Zalfe and Cironus (@songs-of-the-windfish), would look like non-chibified and blinged out with some Song Beads. I was really proud of how it came out!

New fear unlocked.

Apparently, if you go to edit a post on mobile that was originally posted on PC, even if you back out of the edit and discard changes, it removes your content filters, so if you flagged something mature, it instead resets things to "for everyone," and doesn't tell you because the tab is hidden behind a stupid fucking emoji and doesn't show it to you that it decided to reset and turn off things you originally had turned on.

Holly shit, thank god I noticed it when I did. I went to correct a typo in one of my tags. Couldn't without having to delete the whole tag and retype it and every tag after it that would also have to be deleted (because mobile SUCKS), so I discarded the edit (or at least thought i hit discard unless I hit save but I don't think I did cause no edit was made) and moved to pc to make the typo correction, cause I could fix the issue without having delete and retype every tag to get to the one with the typo, and that's when I noticed that even after not posting the edit made on mobile, accessing the post apparently deleted my fucking original content filter settings on the post anyway.

And the fucking HEART ATTACK I had. Like WTF, Tumblr???? Why the fucking hell would it do that as an automated function??????? Why would it delete the filters completely unprompted???? wtf??? IDK if this was a random fucking bug that I just so happened to randomly trigger somehow, but jesus tapdancing christ. So yeah, if you are making posts on both pc and mobile, keep a vigilant eye out for Tumblr's buggy ass, especially if you go to make a quick tweak on mobile. Tumblr will take every chance to fuck up something.
