her lore/backstory overview under the cut!
Collie was born to a pair of low-class Saiyan warriors alongside her younger twin sister, Flaura. Despite being twins, the sisters could not have been more different. Collie was strong-willed, fierce, and exceptionally gifted in combat, while Flaura was small, frail, and possessed an unusually gentle nature for a Saiyan.
Flaura's aversion to fighting and compassionate heart made her the target of ridicule from other Saiyans throughout her childhood. Collie often urged her sister to stand up for herself, but Flaura refused, unwilling to hurt anyone. Instead, Collie took it upon herself to protect her, stepping into countless fights on Flaura's behalf and growing fiercely protective of the sister she loved more than anything.
As they grew older, the gap in their power became impossible to ignore. Collie's natural talent earned her the rank of a mid-class warrior and a future as an elite combatant. Flaura, lacking both strength and the desire to fight, was assigned to conquer weaker worlds on her own. The sisters, who had never spent a day apart, were to be separated.
Terrified of what awaited Flaura on an unfamiliar planet, Collie refused to accept their fate. Moments before her sister's pod launched, she secretly snuck aboard, determined to protect Flaura no matter the consequences. But fate had other plans. Midway through their journey, a burst of interference knocked the pod far off course, sending it hurtling toward an unknown world where the sisters crash-landed.
The sisters eventually discovered that the world they had crash-landed on was called H'Tuo, a tropical ocean planet hidden deep in space. It was inhabited by the Tuori, an advanced species of semi-aquatic humanoids who lived among crystal-blue seas, white sand beaches, and vibrant forests teeming with colorful flora and fauna.
Flaura fell in love with H'Tuo almost immediately and convinced a reluctant Collie to explore the planet with her. The more they saw of its beauty and the kindness of its people, the more enchanted Flaura became.
During their travels, Flaura befriended a young Tuori named Coran. Collie, however, distrusted him from the moment they met. Despite her suspicions, Coran eventually confided in the sisters that H'Tuo concealed itself through advanced technology, hiding from the tyranny of Frieza and his empire. The thought of such a peaceful world being ravaged and forced into servitude horrified Flaura. For the first time, she truly confronted the cruelty of the race she had been born into and decided she wanted no part of it.
Collie did not share her sister's revelation. Raised to believe strength was the only virtue that mattered, she saw little wrong with the Saiyan way of life and dismissed Coran's fears. Yet her devotion to Flaura outweighed her pride. When Flaura asked if they could remain on H'Tuo and live peacefully, Collie reluctantly agreed. She wanted her sister to be happy, and deep down, she knew Planet Vegeta could never offer Flaura the life she deserved.
Years passed. Flaura and Coran grew close, their friendship blossoming into love, and eventually they married. Collie, however, never truly adapted to life on H'Tuo. She kept to herself, living on the fringes of society and spending her days training alone by battling the colossal leviathans that lurked in the planet's deepest oceans.
Unwilling to let her sister drift too far away, Flaura and Coran built their home near Collie's isolated refuge. Coran, a scientist by trade, established a sprawling laboratory there to continue his research. Though Collie struggled to embrace her new life, she found a quiet sort of contentment. As long as Flaura was safe and smiling, that was enough.
That fragile peace shattered when Flaura became pregnant with her and Coran's first child. What should have been a joyous occasion was overshadowed by a mysterious illness that steadily weakened her throughout the pregnancy. Though she successfully gave birth to a healthy daughter named Mari, Flaura never recovered and passed away shortly afterward.
Before her death, Flaura made Collie promise to watch over Mari, protect Coran, and safeguard the planet she had loved so dearly. But after Flaura was gone, grief consumed her. Her sorrow twisted into rage so overwhelming that, for a fleeting moment, she nearly destroyed H'Tuo and everyone on it. She stopped herself only at the last second.
From that day on, the home Flaura had cherished became a prison to Collie. Her lingering indifference toward H'Tuo curdled into bitterness, and she came to resent the planet, Coran, and even little Mari, seeing in all of them painful reminders of everything she had lost. In truth, however, the person she hated most was herself. No matter how strong she had become, she had been powerless to save the one person who mattered most to her. Yet despite her grief and resentment, Collie refused to break the promise she had made to her sister.
Collie might have withdrawn completely into isolation if not for Mari. The daughter of Flaura and Coran grew into a bright and cheerful child, inheriting her father's intellect, her mother's compassion, and her aunt's stubborn streak. As a result, she loved Collie unconditionally, undeterred by the walls her aunt kept around her heart.
Despite H'Tuo's efforts to remain hidden, a soldier serving Frieza eventually discovered the planet and alerted his superiors before Collie could silence him. In the years that followed, Frieza's forces launched repeated invasions in an attempt to claim H'Tuo for their empire, only to be driven back time and again by Collie. She narrowly escaped death on numerous occasions, but each battle only made her stronger. Thanks to her Saiyan biology, every brush with death pushed her power to new heights.
As the years passed, Mari grew increasingly worried about her aunt's well-being. That concern turned into outright fear after a confrontation with Frieza himself left Collie gravely injured.
For years, Collie had lived a lonely existence, isolating herself from others and refusing to let go of the grief she carried. Yet she continued to throw herself into battle whenever H'Tuo was threatened, protecting the planet even at the cost of her own life. Mari came to believe that what her aunt needed was not more strength, but a confidant. Someone strong enough to stand beside her- someone who could share her burdens and remind her that she did not have to face every challenge alone.
Without Collie's knowledge, Mari secretly developed a tracking device capable of locating surviving Saiyans across the universe. Armed with the device and a handheld teleporter, she set out to follow the nearest signals. Her search eventually led her to Beerus' world, where she arrived to find Goku, Vegeta, and Broly in the middle of a training session.
Wip from here- but Mari convinces them to help kick Frieza and his men off H'Tuo for good. Collie is healed by a good ol Whis and is eventually invited to be the fourth saiyan to train w/them.
Collie is initially super combative- openly detesting Goku and bumping heads with Vegeta and Beerus. But her mistrust of Broly quickly turns into a quiet discomfort- as his gentle nature reminds her of someone she once cared about very much.
Because of Mari’s actions, Collie finally allows herself to return her niece’s affection and gradually begins to make amends with her and Coran. Which helps her finally begin to heal from the loss of her sister.
She eventually begins a romantic relationship with Broly. o/
Mari is introduced to Goku and Vegeta’s family. She quickly begins to idolize Bulma and wants to be just like her. Coran and Bulma become pen pals and he shares some of H’tuo’s advance technology with her- allowing Capsule Corps business to further expand.
I can’t decide atm but Mari eventually develops a crush on Trunks or Goten o/
Quelle la relation de collie et sa sœur avec leur parents ?
What is the relationship between Collie and her sister with their parents?
Almost nonexistent. 👍
Their parents were never romantically involved. Like many Saiyans, they chose to have children for the sole purpose of passing on their genes.
Beyond giving Collie his quiet stamp of approval for inheriting his strength, their father played almost no role in their upbringing. Saiyan fathers rarely take an interest in their offspring, and he was no exception.
Their mother raised the twins through their early childhood, but she was a stern, emotionally distant woman who demanded a lot of both daughters- though her disappointment in Flaura's gentle disposition was impossible to hide. Viewing her youngest child as weak and unworthy of attention, she neglected Flaura in favor of Collie.
Collie, however, refused to follow her mother's example. No matter how often Flaura was overlooked or dismissed, Collie never left her behind.
Once they were old enough to survive on their own, they didn't see either of their parents much after that.

For artfight this year I'd like to record speed paints of me making my attacks for a youtube video.
I was wondering if I should ask permission to use the speed paints of the characters I draw from the owners beforehand? or not worry about it since it would technically fall under fair use and I would ofc be appropriately crediting and linking everyone in the video itself/the description?
Also please be nice in the comments I'm new to all this so I'm genuinely not sure.
