Hey there and welcome! Just a few things before you scroll down and get into the meat of things:

What is Sonic Boom Revisited?

Sonic Boom Revisited is an attempt at fostering new, in-depth stories within the Sonic Boom canon, while maintaining the same comedic flavor expected from the original series. Each story not only reflects the creator's desire to see certain elements of other Sonic canon play out under the umbrella Boom has made for itself, but it also serves as a framework for potentially exploring Boom's unexplained elements.

TL;DR - Sonic Boom Revisited is like Sonic Boom season 3, if season 3 had been written by two fans who think way too much about all things Sonic.

Woohoo! Another week and its FINALLY time to properly start on the 48-page pilot issue! The first 9 have been thumbnailed and me n' @veeloopz are rrrrready to go!

This weeks blorbo forecast continues to be overtly sunny. The sun is even smiling! It's a little creepy, to be honest...

NEWS THIS WEEK ON SPECTRAL MAN:

One of our silly little 2-3 pagers has been completed to go alongside the prologue/pilot with two others currently in the works. Though they won't be the focus of this weeks activities.

We're just piloting folks! Vee and I are hoping to get the pencils, inks, and letters for pages 1-9 done before Saturday (colors to be completed at a later date). Wish us luck!

FUN FACT OF THE WEEK:

Spectral Man and the Light Brigade™ is heavily inspired by the work Vee and I completed on Archie Sonic Online's Sonic Man issue (#293, which should be releasing later this year!). We began to develop such a bigger world around those characters that we decided it was best to just make those ideas into its own thing!

Can you believe that resulted in a 90+ issue story?

SONIC BOOM: Revisited | Rendered Art | Scourge the Hedgehog

DATA: Faster than the speed of sound and rival to Light the Hedgehog, Scourge the Hedgehog loves to cause mischief around Badgerville alongside his partner-in-crime, Rosie Red. While his true past is shrouded in mystery, some rumors say he is a failed, ancient experiment while others claim he's simply a juvenile led astray.

Scourge is egotistical, mean-spirited, and arrogant. He is not wholly destructive, however, showing a level of restraint toward those he considers innocent such as young children and animals. If asked, those close to him would compare Scourge to a Robin Hood-type figure.

Less auspicious rumors suggest Scourge's fur color to be a result of fur dye. His true fur color is unknown...

Sonic Boom Revisited: Awakening [FANART] (@sonicboomrevisited)

Okay, so... I didn't plan on finishing it. Things just kinda.. happened? XD

Anyway, here it is! Took a few days to finish up, not including the several days a while back for the layout, sketches, line art, etc. I was working on cleaning up the sketches and finishing the primary line art so it'd be easy to follow when I posted it... I ended up going from cleaning it to full-on finishing it..Lol Wasn't planned, but- I HAD FUN WITH IT! This was inspired by Issue 2, pg. 11-12 way back when they were posted. This was kind of the rough idea I had on how I thought Sonic might come back, but it was actually pretty far off. XD

Thanks again, Sonic Boom Revisited for providing the inspiration for these fun little side projects! Especially with the art and story! Such a joy to read through and I can't tell you how many times I went back just to look at it all again; absolutely beautiful! ^v^

Sonic Boom Revisited: Robo-Sonic (@sonicboomrevisited)

First time in.. over a year now? Since I've drawn Sonic and the moment, I'm sketching out his pose and debating on doing his base or super form, I somehow wind around in doing Robo-Sonic.. :^ Idk LOL

His design's unique and fun to draw! I've tried drawing him before, but that was a while back and I was letting my perfectionism get in the way, so- yeah, never finished that one. Glad I managed to finish this one though! Turned out a lot better than I was expecting after not drawing the hedgehog in some time; especially as a robot!! XD

Robo-arc was awesome to read and the visuals were amazing! Such an inspiration! I actually have an unfinished WIP comic page I was doodling as a possible continuation I was spit-balling. I just wanted an excuse to draw some dramatic shots and while I never finished it, I still had fun with it, so I'll take that. :)

Thanks for the fun adventure in both story and art! Really enjoyed it!!

okay, so i have seen a few things on what boom scourge's story might be, and heres the hints i've gathered from the asks: he has something similar to steve going on his personality is similar to robo sonic part of his backstory is revealed in his bio with this info, im currently guessing scourge likely had these things happen: was an orphan, had the mech virus infused with him much earlier on, his dimension likely had something happen to it that caused him (and a few others) to leave to sonic's world, and the virus made him want to be someone else to stop being bullied, so he changed his quill color and how he dressed ....is any of that right or am i insane?

None of that is REMOTELY close.

I'll be real, the only things Boom Scourge really has in common with his Archie counterpart is name, style, and attitude.

I graduated college when Issue 4 finished so since then I've been pretty busy trying to get a completely original series going so I can feed myself with the muns I hope to make :P

SBR will return when I finish principle work on that.

i was looking through the prior posts and saw that robo-shadow got a rough sketch and this cool art, and yet robo-sticks only got a rough sketch

I mean, I didn't do the cool art of Robo-Shadow. @raccoon-crown did it for funsies on their own time. You guys can always make fanart and tag us if you feel like it :)

How does the design process work for characters like Rouge who weren’t in Sonic Boom originally? Like, how do you make them fit with the art style and fashion of the world?

I'll be real, I kinda just do what I think looks neat. Rouge, specifically, had about four outfits I was looking at with the idea that she should appear more "adventurous" because the vibes of Boom is very much in line with games like Uncharted (Big Red Button, the studio that made Boom also make Uncharted and expressly gave Sonic a scarf to match the main character of that game).

I gave her bangs cos it looks nice and different. Beyond that it was just about making her as tall as the Boom cast.

Boom is about subtle changes with Knuckles and Eggman being the only exceptions. Change the clothes to something that fits more with the "deserted island/adventurer" vibes (sports tape optional), make the characters a bit taller, maybe add some extra hair (or horns in Espio's case), and you're basically good to go!

I saw you say it’s meaningful that Nic wears black shoes, and noticed that Scourge also wears black shoes. Does that mean Scourge is perhaps closer to Nic in mentality? Or am I thinking too hard about it?
