Based off Chap. 30 of [ERROR] [REDACTED] [Ȓ̛̤̖̐͟E̲̥̟̙͓̊̒́̌̂B̛̟͈̩̣̏̎̔O̯̩̖̖̿̍̓̋̆ͅOT͙̺̠̣́̅̏̍] by @starwolf479
This was heavily inspired by the most recent chapter (at the time I'm posting this)! There were SO many moments in the series where I was wanting to draw something, but I kept jumping around and couldn't make up my mind on what exactly, at least, until the newest chapter was posted: LOVED the image it painted. So visceral~
[This is sort of a redraw? I changed enough of it that it kind of has its own thing going on, but I'll still add the referenced screenshot.]
Danny Fenton: 16-year-old in high school, oldest of two, has to juggle his school-life, personal-life, and ghost-life all without cluing any
Wanted to find a way to organize things a bit better, so I decided to make a community to help lay it out better: find things easier. (Though, I have to slow down enough to not mix up my community with my plain blog... :' Gonna have to give me a moment to work on that. LOL)
~ I'm still dealing with things in my personal life and trying to get that stuff handled/caught up before I can promise properly continuing things for the AU, but I'm getting there.
Welp, not how I was expecting it to turn out, but I'm pretty happy with it. :)
The Fenton siblings be lookin' like stickers! (Now I need to make them a keychain- AGH-)
I'm working on another render for the Age-Swap AU. :> Mainly because I missed the AU characters and I haven't done a full render of anything in a while. So... yeh.
I did the rough sketches last night and am cleaning it up for the final sketch today. I'm moving rather slow with this one, but I think that's due to the break I've had from art in general (especially digital art). That, and I'm being nit-picky again, so I keep changing/adjusting things over and over. lol
I also noticed the AU has been gaining a bit of traction again and it's making me want to do more for it again, which I also hope will lead into more for the AU, but I've been tired and haven't been wanting to think too far ahead lately, so I'm just doing this little project and seeing where it leads from there.
I'm sorry for my weird absences and lack of updates. I've been drained after the health-related stuff at the start of the year, so doing much of anything has been difficult in the big-scheme of things. Even writing one-shots have kind of broken up into a several-day process (mixed with overthinking - but that's normal for me). But I'm working on it, like always. lol
Thank you for your patience!
Danny Phantom: He's a Phantom - Sketchbook Sketches
Fenton's a bit of an older sketch compared to Phantom (who was drawn today), but I'm still happy with them both, so... meh. lol
Pencils are fun to! Crayons, now pencils- guys, I'm being hypnotized by the traditional artist's tools!
[Based on Chap. 12 of Apparition, Breathe Twice If You Live On (Arc 1) by @thatonegeekygirl]
An old comic page I was working on months back. I never actually finished it, and it ended up sitting in my WIPs... :^ But, this part's complete enough that I can post what I have.
This story was a joy to read, and, admittedly, this was my favorite part of the whole thing. Without spoilers in case anyone wants to read it for yourself, I loved this scene so much and no matter how my brain made up scenarios after reading, I still went back to making some iteration of this scene in any situation with the characters so many times over it might be concerning. lol
But aside from all of that: HAPPY DANNYVERSARY! My first one, honestly, and it's so funny seeing all the memes that take over this place. XD Such a joy~
Okay, so... firstly, I want to state that I've never actually drawn Spider-Man before; not even attempted to (from what I can remember). This is my first time drawing him, and I had to use a reference image (not only for dynamic posing ideas, but) for a more accurate humanoid shape, because I don't draw regular human characters all that often! 😅
Yes, it's very rough, but it was mostly for drawing practice more than anything, so... ignore everything else. :]
I've recently been rewatching some of Marvel's Spider-Man (2017) and I honestly think the show has my favorite Peter design. XD
Update:
My health has been up and down quite a bit this year so far, so I'm hoping, coming Spring, things will be better. I've been way too lethargic to do much of anything and every time I get something done, it's honestly surprising.
I've been wanting to finish more of my Ninjago projects, as well as make more progress in my Danny Phantom projects, but the weird back-and-forth with illnesses, allergies, and weather-induced-migraines, it's been hard to do anything bigger than random sketch ideas or partial one-shots.
I'm sorry for my absence, literally everywhere, it's been a strange year thus far. I hope you're all faring better!
Thank you for your patience! I'm really trying to get things moving again!
I doodled some more for my baby sister, but since these were taking longer than the usual headshots I do, she lost her patience and wandered off to do something else. XD So, yeh, just more doodles with crayons for an impatient little sister.
Based off the deleted scenes for the Sons of Garmadon season: if Echo was Mr. E. (His design's based off of his 3D model in those deleted scenes, minus the red eyes - I added that.)
This was another old project that I kept started and quitting on because of ZANE'S STINKING HAIR!! LOL NOT KIDDING!
I had Echo sketched and even finished the lineart for him! Zane though... I kept drawing and redrawing and redrawing his hair because I couldn't find something I was happy with. I was aiming a little too close to his 3D model hair, which made it look stiff and unnatural, and I get that's how his hair is in the show, but I didn't like the look of it in 2D or in this style. I wanted something fluffier and more natural looking, because - while Zane IS a nindroid - he was made to look human. So, I scrapped every other attempt I'd done and decided to go with the original idea I had for his older design's hair. Something fluffy, and just drew his hair like I normally do, but chopped the sideburns off and removed the lower portion in the back; kept it short.
Then I FINALLY moved past the sketches. Lol Except, by then, I'd burned myself out on this redraw and wanted to do something else. Took me months, maybe well over a year now? But I finally came back and finished it! LOL (Yes, I'm well aware of the inaccurate light-source direction here, but we're just going to pretend nothing's wrong with it. :])
WOO! Another WIP out of the way.
... And I know working on WIPs wasn't what people had asked for, but with everything going on in my personal life, working on started projects was much easier to get through than a bunch of other things.
Update:
I'm trying to figure out when would be a good time to move back into the bigger, current projects I'm working on, because the weather keeps flip-flopping and we keep getting on and off illnesses, which is causing my allergies to act up during the cold. (It's actually got me paranoid, because I didn't used to have issues this easily when it got cold.)
Whenever I get it figured out, I'll be posting an update and hopefully a schedule plan that won't get interrupted this time...
Anyway, sorry for keeping you and sorry for my weird periodic silences; I'm trying to figure things out.
Original Screenshots:
[Yes, I used two Wu-Kong screenshots as references...what of it? (Lines up with the two Zanes pretty well)]
My sister and I got talking about the Bizzaro Ninja in season 2 and couldn't help but feel like they wasted some amazing potential with those guys. The topic made me want to draw them, but I just had time for a single, so... I obviously chose Zane. XD
A scene rewrite regarding Zane's jet crash in Crystalized e22: Brave but Foolish.
The scene went by so fast with such lame reasons for it all. By this point in the show, if things are going down, then the ninja should fight with everything to get it back up.
You'll see what I mean in the rewrite.
This was an old redraw I had started a while back. I'd done the rough sketch and played with sketchy shading for fun; felt like doing something different for this one. I had left it at the rough sketch stage for a while because I didn't know where else to take it, but I kept coming back because I had liked how it'd turned out. Then yesterday, I finally decided I was done waiting for the idea and just rolled with whatever little things came to mind. I'm pretty happy with this kind of style, even if it's not exactly a full Monkie Kid styled redraw.
Something fun and different. :)
[I'm also sorry about my weird silence! I'm trying to keep up with several things in my personal life and my online life. It's been a mess. (I also got sick as another drop in temperature came around, so my allergies are kind of creeping in again.)]
Ninjago x Monkie Kid: Fight Fire with Fire - Screenshot Redraw
"Whoever said 'Fight Fire with Fire,' didn't know what they were talking about!"
This was a redraw I had started...probably over a year ago, now. It's been stuck at the line-art stage for a while, and I finally got around to finishing it. lol
Yes, it's sloppy, but that's just how I do things. XD
This is the last thing I have finished for now.
I have some new furniture I have to shop for, and a heater to get for my room, so I won't be able to work on anything else for a bit.
~Being sick and having an allergic reaction as the temperature drops is not a great mix~
So, we think we've figured out what the problem was. :'
Cold rashes, which is basically a symptom (alongside others) of an allergy to the cold.
I had huge, swollen patches of rashes on my arms and legs; horribly dry skin on my hands that causes splitting and cracking along my knuckles and hand; bad headaches that felt like a migraine through the entire head, but wouldn't lessen no matter what I did, and throat swelling to a point that swallowing or talking made me gag.
I had no idea that I was having a severe allergic reaction to the cold. We had thought it was from the sickness - Strep throat, or Mono, or something - along with a partially allergic reaction to dust or something in our room. But no one else in the family was having the rashes or throat swelling, or headaches as bad as me, and no amount of cleaning lessened the issue.
My sister was cleaning some things up in our room and then she remembered - due to a Lysol wipe feeling cold on her dry skin and making it itch - that it is possible for people to be allergic to the cold and got to looking up the symptoms.
She'd found that pretty much everything lined up exactly to the problems I had been having, where anything else we searched for - illness symptoms/allergic reaction symptoms - didn't quite all line up.
The allergic reaction getting that bad was likely due to a bad winter storm coming through at the same time we were sick which had my immune system low enough it couldn't fight off multiple things at once. So, since getting better from the illness - the only lingering symptoms being coughing, light fatigue, and minor congestion - I've been doing better with the allergy problem, too. But- knowing the reason behind these problems is kind of both relieving and terrifying to know.
My case is definitely not as bad as others who've had allergies to the cold, but apparently, I have it bad enough to cause a severe reaction like that when sick.
Can definitely admit that I'm a worrywart, so when I noticed the throat swelling, I had severe anxiety and was praying my heart out that it'd just fade and not get worse or something, and it did! Praise God for that because the alternative would've been the hospital or worse!
My point is: a lot of the problems I've been having health wise is clearing up, and with some answers I didn't expect to find out at the age I'm at now.
I've always been the most sensitive to the cold in my family; I liked my water lukewarm [even in severe heat]; I shivered a lot in cool water of pools compared to others. I've always had a problem with my skin drying out super easily during the winter season, which I thought was due to not liking water, so I don't drink as much as others (Which- maybe), but considering the new evidence, that may be another reason. Whenever I get cold, my skin turns purple/blue, while anyone else who gets cold doesn't have that problem. I just thought it was something I was born with, and, technically, it is, but not for the regular thing I thought it was. Even just an ice cream in the Summer had my skin going purple from being cold.
So, to anyone else who may be sensitive to the cold or gets severely dried/cracked (or even discolored) skin in the cold...maybe check for a possible cold allergy. I'm not saying you'd have one if you relate to some of this; everyone's different. It's just better to check and find out for sure than risking possible allergic reactions you're not prepared for.
Worse symptoms (I've experienced) Dried and itchy skin [typically on your arms and legs], turning red, swollen, and bumpy over time. Throat swelling. Severe headaches that can almost never lighten up. A prickling itch on dry skin and a crawling sensation when trying to warm up.
There's this cold test, if you get an icepack and place and hold it against your arm for roughly a minute, and you pull it back it'll leave red swelling and itchy skin where it was.
But, because mine's not as severe, when testing it myself, my arm got a little red looking where the icepack was placed, but the hand on the same arm had turned purple at the knuckles and a little tingly in the way of losing circulation.
It is easier for those allergic to the cold to suffer from hypothermia, or get frostbitten, so it is important to keep warm. Be safe out there!
