PFFFFF
I honestly still canât get over this scene.
At this point, Oswald finally decides to give Mickey more of a chance and start over. After years of hate and jealousy, he finally decides to give Mickey a chance, noting that Ortensia wouldâve wanted to be more friendlier towards the mouse.
He wanted to start by shaking on it with Mick.
But Mickey hesitates, hand shaking, and pulls away.Â
Heâs remembers about how he caused the Thinner Disaster, created the Blot, and basically messed up Wasteland itself since he met Oswald back in his base on Mickeyjunk.Â
Throughout the game since then, going through Ventureland and battling mechanical pirates and Bog Easy and dealing with a bunch of ghosts, Mickey must of had nothing but a growing sense of guilt about what heâs done in the past, even if he didnât intend for any of it to happen.
The more he saw how much Wasteland went through after making that mistake of messing with Yen Sidâs stuff, the more guilty he felt about all of it.
It got to the point where he just couldnât start over with Oswald without him knowing about what really happened.
Not without knowing the truth.
So he confessed everything he remembered.Â
And, as expected, Oswald is furious.Â
The same guy who caused the very disaster that nearly destroyed your home and potentially killed a lot of toonsâŠ
The same guy who created the monstrosity that raged nothing but destruction and fear into everyone and even induced a betrayal to occur from someone who used to be a close partner and even friendâŠ
The same guy who, because of those events, caused you to lose the love of your life in the worst way possibleâŠ
Is the same guy youâve been jealous and angry at for years for âstealingâ your fame and life.Â
Imagine thinking about all of that at once when youâre just told something like that.
God. Damn.
I mean, look at Mickeyâs face. Look at how he flinches before he flat out says, âIâm the one who ruined and nearly destroyed your home.â He knew Oswald would be upset, yet he tells him anyways. I canât help but imagine his voice shaking or something trying to spit all this out.
Granted, he told him in the worst possible place, with the Blot stuck in a bottle right next to them. Mickâs lucky Oswald didnât just throw him off Mickeyjunk right then and there.
Heck in the Junior Novel, while Oswaldâs âdancingâ on top of the cork, we get this:
âOswald, stop!â Mickey cried. âThe corkâitâs cracking!â
âIâll give your head a cracking!â Oswald threatened, bouncing up to the very top of the cork.
Yikes.
Anyways, I just love this part of the scene because itâs one of the first scenes I saw from the game as a kid and it showed me and us this different side of Mickey we havenât really seen compared to his normal, smiles all around persona we see him as nowadays.Â
He fucked up and he knows it.
And he feels incredibly guilty for it, even though it was an accident.
Man, this game.
âšâš Here comes dat mouseâšâš
Walt Disney finally made a cameo and itâs the sweetest thing Iâve seen so far! ;)

King Dice Voice: â I donât believe itâŠIâm on a lunch box!â
Damn, mickey
It was at this moment that Mickey knewâŠhe fucked up.

Oswald now has taken the role of Stitch.
The Brockway Record, Pennsylvania, February 3, 1933
(Once again from the EM junior novel)
[context: theyâre just talking about the remote used at the end of the game to set off the fireworks]
âCan you do something with it?â Mickey asked. âFrom inside the Blot?â
âYou bet I can!â Then Oswald frowned. âI just thought of a teeny, tiny glitch.â
âHow teeny?â Gus asked.
âHow tiny?â Mickey echoed.
Oswald scratched his head between his floppy ears and looked at the remote control. âThis will set off the fireworks in the Mad Docâs lab.â
âWhich is aimed directly at the Blot,â Gus said. âThatâs great! We canâŠOhhhhh, I see.â
âSee what?â Mickey asked, his head whipping back and forth between them. âWe explode the Blot!â Then he realized why his friendâs expressions were so grim. âAnd risk exploding ourselves along with it.â
âExactly,â Oswald confirmed.
âItâs worth it,â Mickey said. âTo save Wasteland!â
âBut you can escape now,â Gus pointed out.
âI canât leave without doing everything I can to put an end to this disaster,â Mickey said. âEven if, well, it puts an end to me.â
M ICK EY-
Iâm telling you guys, I nearly got a heart attack when I read âOswald the Lucky Rabbitâ And âShowâ in the same sentence, but this will most likely be a live show starring the costumed characters, but lemme tell ya, if anything is officially reported about there being a fully animated Oswald show, firstly, Iâm gonna scream at the top of my lungs, secondly, youâll most likely be the first to hear it from me.
