My dude would go for multiple just to flex. In fact, I bet anything Tails would get PhDs in whatever Eggman has PhDs in. As an astronomical flex and also a THREAT. They're going to pause a fight to the death just to start arguing about who's research is better
As for the gang, they'd totally celebrate by taking Tails out on fun little outings like picnics and water parks and amusement parks, he loves being with his friends after a long hard college year 💙💙

I also see Tails as someone who is super interested in doing his own thing — so a good match if the phD topic works for him... but he might have difficulty with his undergrad if chasing stray ideas is more interesting than his coursework. 😅
