Hey #Sidon fans…have you still been wondering who voices this handsome fish-man? 

What if I told you I’ve known & NOW I CAN OFFICIALLY TELL?

The voice actor for Sidon in Breath of the Wild gave me the Green Light to talk about their involvement! I’m going to drop the news at 5 PM Pacific/ 8 PM Eastern Time TODAY.

For reference, the currently listed voiceover artist for the role on Behind the Voice Actors (Bill Rogers) is INCORRECT. The official VA for Sidon has not been announced before now!

The news will be posted on here as well as on Twitter, so don’t miss out if you’ve been curious! This is not a joke or a fake-out; I was given permission to release the official info and will be doing so at the stated time. :D

Alright dudes, the deadline has passed, as promised!

With permission from the actor himself, I am pleased to officially reveal the Voice Actor for Breath of the Wild’s Sidon…

Jamie Mortellaro!

This name (and the guy himself) may seem new to a lot of you, but that wouldn’t be unusual; Jamie is much more well-known as a voice director for dozens of different videogames - including Horizon: Zero Dawn, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Hitman (where he also has a writing credit!), and many many more.

In fact, Jamie was also the voice director for Breath of the Wild, meaning he was directly responsible for guiding me to the desired performances for Revali and my other roles. All those times I’ve been talking about how much credit I owed to “my director” for helping me really understand Revali when I was losing hope? That was this guy!

Now, before anyone gets the notion that “Oh, he just cast himself in the game because he was directing it”, I want to make it very clear that Sidon was also up for audition; I actually ALSO had the chance to read for Sidon (in addition to Jamie and many of my competitors), but because my takes sounded too close to Revali it just wasn’t going to work out. I believe (and this is my personal opinion only) that it was at the request of Nintendo that Jamie took up the helm of voicing Sidon.

I firmly believe this to be the case because - and I can say this from personal experience - Jamie is every bit as supportive and optimistic in real life as Sidon is in the game. His overwhelming enthusiasm is what helped me refocus myself when Revali was giving me such a hard time, and I cannot imagine anyone else who would have been a more natural fit for this role than he was. Having Jamie direct me from line to line was like having Sidon himself guiding me through the “Vah Dubbo” dungeon to accomplish my quest.

Jamie might be a little hard to reach directly if you want to share any positive thoughts, as he’s an extremely busy dude (what with all the directing jobs and all…) and isn’t very active on any of his social media accounts for the moment, but if you want you are welcome to leave a Reply here or a Comment on the Twitter post, and I’ll make sure to share them with him!
