“i do believe in love, i have been an attestor of such devotion and it would be callow of me to deem it insubstantial simply because i have chosen to not associate myself with the emotion ; at least not in a romantic sense ( not anymore ). even if i did form an attachment it would most likely be fleeting, a pure distraction for the mind. so for the latter question, no. not in the near future. i have so much work to deal with and so little time to care for other matters. perhaps something or someone might alter my mind but i don’t see it happening anytime soon. i’d rather keep it that way.”

Having decided that renting a car would still be a waste of money, Heather steered her motorcycle somewhere a touch more secluded—up on a slightly higher ground, where she could still see the movie playing and relish the scenery without needing to get herself confined amidst a bunch of snogging couples. The temperature was almost frigid up there but her favorite leather jacket embraced her close, made it somewhat cozy. She parked the bike, then placed down a bunch of snacks and drinks she’d bought earlier on the grass. She got herself comfortable, sitting down with back leaned against her vehicle. “This is nice,” she hummed, hearing footsteps behind her, not yet turning to see who it was. “You get to see everything without having to pay. The movie, people secretly humping one another, stars, moon, stuff. You can join me if you want, but don’t you dare touch my Doritos.”

“i knew you’d be here.” the heiress’s voice winnowed through chalky night. using the tone she insured for when they were out of business and when alcott was evidently more susceptible than usual. whilst she had organised a pile of folders in her hands, all of the plans and stoic principles went out of the window when she saw the younger in such a state. a supple smile graced cold features as she dawdled forth to pat a delicate hand on alcott’ shoulder though remaining to respect her personal bubble by keeping a slight distance. “i’ve already eaten, don’t worry.” while despite what happened in sonya’s apartment, their relationship was essentially lawful and by the book, sonya wouldn’t mind acting as more as a human friend when such an opportunity sprang. both of them needed to that moment of amenability every once in awhile. she sat in the grass, looping fingers around the blonde’s bicep and leaning sideways just briefly. “i’d like to join you if possible. there’s way too many people down there. it was almost suffocating.” she sighed. staring ahead, “i saw her. i don’t think my heart has stopped beating vehemently ever since. ”
