Another new Baron, Steve Pinnizzotto. Love having the chance to get new guys in the spotlight so soon after their arrival. Steve's been a fun player to watch his first two games, and I'm really glad he's on our team now! Welcome to the Barons!
From last night's game against Milwaukee.... one of our newest players, Jack Combs. This one taken a split second before he put the puck past Admirals goaltender Marek Mazanec. Gorgeous goal, Jack.... and welcome to the Barons!
A couple photos for tonight, in what would end up a 5-4 shootout win for our Barons guys. Up top, Anton Lander dives for the puck just a bit too late in front of the Milwaukee net. On bottom, Taylor Fedun goes low to deliver a check on the Ads' Colton Sissons.
Chet Pickard showing off some splits, this time facing me, in warmups before our win over Milwaukee tonight.
Roman Horak diving to make a play, tonight against the Rochester Americans. The Barons would end up on the short side of this one, losing 4-3.
When I was looking for something for today's Throwback Thursday, I accidentally found this one. I almost pulled the USB drive out of the computer before I saw it. I love it.....but of course I do. It has Kristians Pelss in it.
I'm so digging the spotlight shots this season. Technically this isn't one; it was taken just before the introductions started....but I just love the crazy look of it. Richard Bachman always ends up with some of the BEST spotlight photos...I'm sure I'll end up posting a bunch more of his before I'm done.
Travis Ewanyk - on edge, I guess you could say - during the game.
From early in the season, captain Anton Lander carries the puck through center ice
Erik Burgdoerfer was called up from Bakersfield a couple days ago & made his AHL debut last night against Charlotte. I thought he played really well! Anyway, the Condors tweeted about him being in the lineup, so I replied to that with this photo....thinking they may want to see their guy in Barons colors! Hope we get to see him again sometime soon!
Yes, Mike Murphy.....I saw you raise those eyebrows at me. :-D Thank you for being such a wonderful subject, every time Charlotte comes to town. You may be the only opposing player - other than Mike McKenna - who has ever had fun with my camera. :-) Honestly wish you two could visit more often! Thanks for being a great sport!
Chet Pickard during spotlight introductions tonight, against the Charlotte Checkers. It ended up not being a great night for him, as he let in 4 goals in the first period & was pulled. I still love this shot. And he'll do better soon. Everyone has a rough night.
Two entries on a Thursday? You'd better believe it.... because this one has been in the works for most of the season. I've been harping on Taylor Fedun to score - at HOME - for a good couple months. Promising him pics once he did. Well, he delivered in a HUGE way tonight, scoring the game winner 17 seconds into overtime against Utica. The photos were delivered to him soon after the game, and I figured I'd post them here too. It's an honor well deserved, and hard earned. Thanks for the AWESOME - and timely - goal, Taylor! :-)
And another Derek Nesbitt shot.... This one for Throwback Thursday, from Peoria's visit here in December of 2011.
Closing my eyes & picking a random player for today landed me....Derek Nesbitt! Spraying a little snow & looking for a pass, in this shot.......
HUGE congratulations to Martin Marincin, named to the 2014 Slovakian Olympic Team, on Tuesday, January 7th. He's come so far since his first game at the tail end of the 2010-11 season. Hopefully, we'll see a lot of slapshots from him, like in photo #2.....and maybe even a goal, as in photo #3, against the Texas Stars earlier this season. Marty, we'll be cheering for you - and your Slovakian teammates - all the way from back here in OKC!
