Aziraphale would rise, dressing quickly and without looking back at him, leaving Crowley on the bed (or whatever other surfaces they’d landed on), wrecked and raw and realizing once again that his angel didn’t love him, he lusted for him, and was so disgusted with himself after that he literally had to run away from him as if he were a bulimic who’d binged himself on sweets. He knew Aziraphale was regurgitating the memory of him as soon as he left.

So, he would lay there, fighting back bitter tears of rage and disgust, wondering why he kept doing this to himself.

Because you love him more than you hate yourself.

My theory

The Denning sisters are not both psychopaths, Barb is a psychopath and Carol is a sociopath.

Sociopaths are: more erratic/unpredictable with more violent outbursts (duh Carol) and sociopaths are able to form genuine relationships, but only if the people are like-minded (Carol and Frieda, y’all). Carol couldn’t “act normal” the way that psychopaths tend to, which is why she had no friends. Unlike sociopaths, psychopaths are able to form what LOOKS like a normal life: a spouse, kids, steady job, etc (Barb and her “soulmate,” faking that she liked her sister, her mom voluntarily visiting her in prison, etc). Psychopaths are able to dissociate from their behavior (hence why Barb always calls Carol a psycho when they both committed the crime together and why she was able to think clearly about killing their sister while Carol was all erratic rage). Sociopaths are thought to be a product of their environment while psychopaths are born (although their environment is usually still pretty awful). In this instance it’s harder to tell?? They both grew up in the same shitty environment, and you know that either of them could have picked up psychopathic genes from their dad, but either way they were both influenced by their parents’ abuse and neglect. Anyway, that’s my thinkpiece on it.
