I've seen Eowyn and Faramir's love story classified as an example of Pair the Spares, and that's totally inaccurate. Eowyn and Faramir are the love story of The Lord of the Rings. Arwen and Aragorn don't count--they're only in the appendix! Eowyn and Faramir's story emerges from and completely ties into the main narrative. In only ten pages, it manages to be one of the greatest love stories of all time.

Eowyn starts out actively suicidal and he makes her want to live again! He falls in love pretty much at first sight. She begs him to let her go to battle, and he's just like, "I'm stuck here, too. We'll have to make the best of it together," and asks her to help him recover. He tells her about his recurring dream, and he's surprised that he said it, so you know it's a big deal that he told her about it. He tells her that being with her makes him believe that no darkness can endure, then the exact moment after he kisses her brow, the Dark Lord is defeated! She stays in the city despite herself, even when she's given leave to go to battle! He's so gentle and understanding, but her pride makes her resent his pity until she learns that being loved in her weakness is not shameful but a beautiful gift. He makes speeches about how much he loves her and begs her to return his love! They kiss upon the wall in the sight of many, and he claims the shieldmaiden of the North despite the differences in their cultures!

In loving Aragorn, Eowyn wanted glory and renown and to be elevated above the drudgery of daily life into the realm of legend, but in loving Faramir, she wants that daily life, wants to exist here, now, with him, finding joy and peace and honor in the ordinary tasks of life in the ordinary moments of the day. It's a beautiful character arc and a beautiful love story and I'm going crazy over it.

The only detail Barbie got wrong is I do not watch Pride and Prejudice when I am sad or depressed. Pride and Prejudice would never be a guilty pressure to cheer myself up. I can watch on repeat and love it every single time.

Honestly I have been appalled by the violence a lot of boys showed when I was a kid. So it is good not to generalize. Misoginy can be taught very early on. I was first called ugly when I was 6. I was first kicked and pushed when I was 7. I was written last on the beauty list when I was 11. It was boys who did that, not men.

Not first love

Why is first love so much romanticized than the concept of your last love and hopefully forever love? First love did not work out. First love was not for you. If it was meant to be, it would have worked. But it did not. So why hold on? Why taint all the new with the old. Holding on to the past is never good, no matter how good the memories are. Especially if they serve as a bar of comparison where nothing that comes into your life can ever be good enough. Just because you experienced love for the first time with one person does not mean that all the wonder is lost. It can be much much better. And if anything, first love hurts because this person you trusted broke your heart or you broke theirs, which means it was completely imperfect. Ah, but if you could go back and fix it right? But why? There are many new people where you can find a love to start fresh and renew all hope within. You would not have to try to plant a tree in the middle of burnt ground again and again and again as you would with your first love obsession. You would go into uncharted territory and have surprises and wonder. Why stay comfortable in the old and not explore the new? You tell me. Move on. Go on. Be free. Be loved.

 We empathized so much with the Roy sibling’s because seeing the abuse they all went through we wanted them to come out on top, to win something after enduring so much. We know, despite their billions, they are empty and unhappy because they have never been truly loved and they can’t truly love either. So we feel sorry for them. But if you look at it from a truly unbiased point of view, they are not serious people. They wanted all the power without doing any of the work. They did not want to do the grind and they were completely entitled. Their own father hated them for being so entitled and for wanting the power of something none of them ever helped building. Of course, Logan is messed up for being so selfish and for not desiring his kids to be a part of his legacy...to fight for something he should have given them freely and unconditionally if he had loved them? But let’s say you are an investor or an expert in econ? They just look like kids fighting for a toy and like honestly, the only one who has shown some good decisions is Kendall. But we can argue that Shiv and Roman haven’t had much opportunity to prove themselves.

I am not even a fan of Ice Spice or Taylor Swift but can people please stop  saying Ice Spice sucks? If the song is not good it´s the fault of the producers. You know if she wasn´t “giving” the people in the studio should have told her and like with all the amount of people that a song goes through before coming out, especially with such a big artist...it doesn’t make sense. But I would not fault and up and coming artist like this???? 100% not her fault.

Shiv did not do it to break the cycle. Her decision was a result of the cycle. She is selfish and she could not take it that her brother would win and she would not. It is as simple as that. They are all deeply messed up. Sure, her decision actually saves her brothers but saving them was not her motivation. Her hurt ego decided. I feel sorry that her decision saves both Roman and Kendall, but neither choice saves her. She loses either way and that is a tragedy. She is now only a trophy wife to a man who probably doesn’t love her, because she did all in her power to show him he did not matter. She lost Kendall too. Only Connor and Roman, through acceptance of who they are and what their situations are truly like, have won.
