TYPOGRAPHY INSPIRATION.
Another one of my favourite pieces in Brick Lane. This huge portrait was created using a series of black and white typography layered on top of each other, a simple technique but extremely effective. Using this technique on fabric could be really interesting and create an amazing print. I tried to use this technique using photoshop to create a face using text, i think this has worked very well and is an interesting way off displaying text.
TYPOGRAPHY INSPIRATION.
While exploring Brick Lane I came across many different types of text that had been created using spray cans. I really liked both of these text types as they are bold and grab your attention. After looking at these texts I decided to try and create my own eye catching text using illustrator. Although I like this text for my magazine I want to keep my magazine quite minimal.
HELLO MY NAME IS PAUL SMITH.
Paul Smith allows us into a small snippet his world! How his business became what it is today.walking round the exhibition i could feel my visual and tactile senses starting to go mad as everything i was looking at made me feel inspired! Viewing a small collection of his most valuable collections from photographs and painting to a scrap book of fabrics paper clipped together to create interesting colour ways. He truly represents his believes in you can find inspiration in everything and you certainly could throughout his exhibition!
PHOTOGRAPHY & ILLUSTRATION
For my mock up photo shoot I took inspiration from Jennifer's work from 'The Saatchi Gallery.' I loved the way her images had been manipulated so create bursts of vibrant colours and hazed images. I have attempted to create my own version with references to Jennifer's work using photoshop. My own photos and my own illustrations have been used to create my mock up photo shoot.
PHOTOGRAPHY & GRAPHICS.
Ibiza Moments In Love: Creates a picture of ibiza as it was back in the 1980's through a collection of club posters, books and original photographs.
From both the graphics and the photography you can get a sense of what the Ibiza Island was like back in the 80s. The bold colours show the party atmosphere and Ibiza lifestyle. The photography is also very relaxed as everyone is in the ibiza environment enjoying there selves showing what people wore. I think the advertisement of the posters and photographs work very well.
JENNIFER WEST.
I came across contemporary artist Jennifer West at 'The Saatchi Gallery'. I really like the way she has manipulated her photographs and I would love to be able to use this technique as I think it works very well. I love the colour ways in these images as they add depth to the images. Jennifer is known for her digitalised films that a made by hand by manipulating film celluloid. She may dip the film in perfume or alcohol to destroy or distress the film.
ILLUSTRATIONS OF PRINCESS DIANA.
While visiting Kensington Palace I came across a wall papered corridor with this beautiful illustration work of Princess Diana throughout her life as a Royal. I found this work very inspirational and a great way to show and explain important events that happened in her life!
FINAL ILLUSTRATIONS.
After researching five fashion illustrators, which have now became some of my now favourite fashion illustrators! I have then gone of to create my final illustrations inspired by there work. Although all of the illustrators I have researched use both techniques of hand drawn and digital manipulation. I decided to try and create mine using digital programmes. I prefer to hand draw my illustrations and therefore feel I need practice using digital media. I would like to be able to use both techniques to a high standard. I decided to create my final illustrations by taking inspiration from two of these: Nuno DaCosta & Megan Hess. I took inspiration from both of these artists as they both create fluid black and white drawings by hand and then going on to add in pops of colour into the clothing and jewellery using digital programmes.
ILLUSTRATION INSPIRATION.
NUNO DACOSTA has been an inspiration of mine for many years! I love the simplicity of his line work as they create beautiful illustrations with pops of colour. To create these illustrations he uses both techniques of hand drawn and digital work, first he hand renders the illustration and then uses photoshop to bring the drawing to life!
I really like the way the illustrations are in black and white and the clothing/ jewellery have been highlighted with splashes of colour. I am going to use this technique while creating my illustrations.

ILLUSTRATION INSPIRATION.
TRACY TURNBULL is able to use soft pencil stokes and digital manipulation to create a realistic look to her illustrations. I love the style Tracy has adapted to create pretty and feminine looks in every illustration!
Digital manipulation is used to add in splashes of colour into her backgrounds I am going to try doing this throughout my illustrations.

ILLUSTRATION INSPIRATION.
ELLE WILLS. Again I found out about Elle and her amazing talent to create drawings that look like photographs and real objects on social media. Good I LOVE social media! I am well and truly blown away by her talent all of her drawings are created by hand with coloured pencils.
I really enjoy drawing realistic illustrations and I am going to attempt to create this affect throughout my magazine.

ILLUSTRATION INSPIRATION.
MEGAN HESS. I found out about Megan Hess's beautiful talent on social media, from the minute I saw her drawings I became hooked! Megan creates her illustrations using a pen and ink this technique which creates a beautiful fluid drawing which captivates me!
I have particularly been inspired by the last illustration I have uploaded. The contrast between the fluid ink illustration and the digital front cover of the magazine has worked so well!! I am going to attempt to use this technique for my front cover of my magazine.

ILLUSTRATION INSPIRATION.
KELLY SMITH takes inspiration from films, fashion and fairy tail storeys from this she is able to capture a narrative within her drawings. I admire illustrators who are able to portray a storey behind their drawings. Her illustrations are created with fine pencil detailing and she then uses watercolour or digital programmes to add in subtle hints of colour to add softness to her drawings.
The first two illustrations i have uploaded kelly has used stronger hints of colour to the background of her drawings I am planning to experiement with this technique.

Jean Paul Gaultier.
From sidewalk to catwalk exhibition at the Barbican.
An amazing exhibition celebrating one of the most important French couturiers of all times throughout his years within the fashion industry. Influenced by the worlds cultures Gaultier has consistently pick up on current trends but with his excellent skills have created a difference throughout his work compared to all other fashion designers. Above i have selected both of my favourite sections of the exhibition. The first being the Punk era and then his extraordinary corsets and lingerie.

Inspiration: Huishan Zhang autumn/winter 2014 & Fashion Rules exhibition.
DESIGN INSPIRATION 2.
Fashion Rules at Kensington Palace showcased a wide variety of elegant dresses from the collections of HM The Queen, Princess Margaret and Diana, Princess of Wales. Almost every dress within this exhibition was in some way beautifully embellished or embroidered which I found truly amazing!
DESIGN INSPIRATION.
I have used Huishan Zhang’s autumn/winter 2014 presentation, as a main inspiration to my collection because I instantly feel in love the embellishments he used throughout his collection. After attending Huishans’ show i instantly wanted to create my own collection based on a theme of embellishment and luxury clothing.
