Somehow, I feel like 2018 has crept up on me!
The gallery has certainly been keeping us occupied throughout December, serving plenty of people looking for Christmas gifts. It does make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside thinking about it, that all our hard work has given someone something to unwrap on Christmas Day and helped artists keep up their daydream.
To get me started on the new year, I have picked three things that I want to focus on in my creative business journey over the next year:
1. Set up studio space so I can workout from home -for those of you that don’t know, I actually commute over from Lincoln to work at Focus and Nottingham Jewellery School. While I don’t expect to kick off with all the huge tools I use there, having a designated space to finish and assemble would help immensely with managing my time and turning over enough stock to keep up with my next three plans:
2. Approach other galleries & apply for craft fairs & shows -even though my work will always be most at home at Focus, I am itching to explore new turf, and to try out my work in some galleries in my hometown. As a self-confessed craft fair junkie, it will be interesting to be on the other side for a change, finally with a cohesive body of work that I can call my own.
3. Set up an online POS & my own website -although I’ve been using this blog as a pseudo-website for a while now, I think it’s due time to graduate to a fully fledged website with an integrated online shop.
So lots of sales housekeeping! I’m happy to say that I’m satisfied in my materials and my design, which means it’s time to get the infrastructure set up so I can be let loose to be creative.

I like to think I’ve ticked everything off! ;)
Happy New Year
