Lobby Live - Sophie Ray

Looking forward to playing at the Watford Colosseum on 26th February 2016 before Jason Donovan as part of #LobbyLive - what’s more they will be celebrating 1 year of these amazing pre-concert support slot gigs!

These performances are open to all - so even if you haven't purchased a ticket for the main show, you can still visit the venue and listen to for free whilst enjoying a drink from the bar or a bite to eat from the café.

Apple Music

I’m sure after the Taylor Swift incident we’ve all heard about Apple Music, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit confused about the whole thing when I first came across it all and really didn’t know much about what it actually was other than a new streaming service.

As an unsigned musician I am a firm believer in grasping hold of any avenue that possible fans can listen to your music via, so to me the whole prospect of a new route for this was quite exciting... I had to have a little explore to find out a bit more about what it’s all about.

Luckily my lovely distributer Ditto (as a side note I would thoroughly recommend these guys) opted to add all their artists’ music straight to the service so by default my music was added - happy days. So from then on it was just about working out how I would actually make use of it all.

Now this is where I don’t really have a definitive answer... I like the connect function and the idea that it is a new way to reach out to other music lovers, but I’m not so fond of the fact that as an unsigned musician I am currently unable to customise my profile so immediately stand out far less than the big signed artists, hopefully this will be something that Apple rectifies. 

The potential does seem great so I’m excited for what the future might hold... I just need to make sure I’ve got the hang of it by then!
