ABOUT SOPHIE
- sophie is from lennox, massachusetts, a small town in the berkshires. her family owns a popular local diner. she grew up in the restaurant, helping out when she could, and loved being around her family.
- after high school, she worked at the diner for a while, saving up money so she could eventually further her education, wanting to go to culinary school.
- she enrolled at the cambridge school of culinary arts, spending two years in cambridge, mass while she earned her degree.
- sophie’s always been a bit of an idealist, dreaming of a future where she’d be in a big city running her own successful bakery. that dream sent her off to new york after she finished culinary school.
- at first, she struggled to find a job, working at a dunkin’ donuts for a few months as a cashier.
- about a month ago, she saw a post about an opening for a pastry chef at the famed dominique ansel bakery ( creator of the cronut ! ) and she immediately applied. lucky her, she got the job !
- she’s finally on the right track to achieving her dreams ( and super excited that the bakery is only a short walk from her apartment --- hello short commute ! )
FUN FACTS
- when she first got to new york, she was pretty lonely, so she took herself to the nearest animal shelter and fell absolutely head over heels with an all black kitten. she took it home with her and named it jolie. she’s her favorite cuddle buddy.
- if you walk by her apartment, you can almost always smell something sweet baking if she’s home. she bakes when she’s happy, sad, stressed, whatever mood it is? there’s a treat for that!
- her room is absolutely covered in twinkle lights and she’s set up a cute little reading nook for herself in the tiny bedroom. her vibe is really just cozy-cute chic.
