     He grimaces, a sneer rising to his features.

I’m used to it,       but Faith and Lily — … they deserved better.       I can’t believe it took Miss White’s panties       getting in a twist for people to suddenly give       a damn.”

[ His words were fueled by anger and frustration, she imagined, but she, herself, just sounded tired of it all. Sad. She was caving in on herself — it was getting hard to have these conversations over and over again. It hurt. ]

     “…What if he abandons those girls? What if he       gives up on this case and everyone just… just       forgets…”

     "Y'know, then, I think it's high time to let them fuckin' know that we do matter. Even if nothin' happens; bring all of us nobodies to the business office - they won't be able to make all of us leave. Who'd try to, anyway? Crane? Don't think so. That little fuckin' twerp's got his bird beak shoved so far up his ass I'm surprised he can even concentrate on his work, much less dealin' with actual people - smellin' his own ass for so long."

Gren's fist tighten against his sides and he inhales deeply.

     "I won't let him. Bigby's gonna be dealin' with a whole lot more than the pig if he thinks for two fuckin' seconds he can forget about the girls. If that group of rich fucks could do one thing fer us nobodies, it'd be a little bitta' justice fer Lily and Faith. So, no. I won't let anyone forget. And they can all suck my ass if they think I'll just sit back about it."
