Lore Spotlight | Alizka

Part of the “Sornieth Divisions” lore, Alizka is a pivotal character and main antagonist in a world on the brink of disaster. Once a prisoner to the war-hungry Empire, she now pulls the strings as the beloved but harmless Court Jester. Her strange, swirling eyes give her an incredible power to control those around her, almost effortlessly, and since obtaining this power she has made it her life’s goal to plunge Sornieth into chaos by manipulating her former captors and unleashing an ancient and long contained evil - an Emperor, buried now within the gaols of the Icewarden’s Fortress of Ends.

Not everyone lives helpless beneath her controlling gaze, however. There is one dragon, a Guardian called Akeyla, who sees through her deception, and stands immune to her manipulation. Helpless to stop Alizka’s growing power and control, Akeyla now seeks the aid of outsiders to save Sornieth from the wrath of the Emperor Alizka hopes to unleash, but there’s just one minor bump in all this: Alizka is Akeyla’s charge.

oh actually i can make a new one from this dragon that i drew last week 

1: lines

2: flat shadow color

3: adding lighter colors on top of the shadow color

4: multiply layer for depth

5: detailing on normal layer

6: detailing on shine [luminosity] layer

7: whiskers, the finished drawing

8: low opacity hard mix layer for contrast

9: low opacity exclusion layer for more vibrant shadow color + more unified color throughout the piece + just looks nice
