From the burbs outside Detroit in August 2015 I started a Nickelodeon-themed fan art blog and called it Doodleodeon. One year later I was in Burbank, CA working for Nickelodeon on Pig Goat Banana Cricket. Follow your dreams.

I saw some breath-taking Eric Goldberg designs of classic Looney Tunes characters at the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity that were marvelously inspiring. These were the cleanest and simple lines that elegantly in as few gracefully applied strokes as possible easily captured the essence of characters such as Daffy or Bugs. I can only hope to pay homage to the brilliance of Mr. Goldberg with my humble attempt in that style. It truly is a master lesson in keeping it simple and doing more with less.

FYI: I drew the characters with a Wacom Intuous tablet in Manga Studio 5, then did all the motion stuff in Adobe After Effects. A little audio work in Audition too.

I can’t say there’s a single Presidential candidate out there that I can vote for. Each of them is some lesser form of evil than the other. How is it in this entire country we have such horrible choices?

Therefore - I am going to do the mature thing and start a fantasy campaign for a cartoon candidate. Because, well why not. It’s more fun that watching any of the other back-and-forth nonsense in the media.

Vote for Log in 2016! He’s got a catchy jingle (you’re singing it in your head right now.)
