The boy glared, just as unhappy about this as the elder seemed to be. He didn’t exactly what to be babysat, especially by someone like this.

“...It’s a secret.” he replied finally, moving to climb onto his fathers lap when he sat. “...Is it?” he moved to peek out the window as well, canting his head to the side.

{ ♞ } The demons lips curled into a devious grimace upon hearing the young lads request. Though he was forbidden to engage in a conversation with his mouth he was still quite capable of expressing himself. His hands quickly went to work, obviously being able to do sign language flawlessly. { Since you do not wish to hear my voice I shall talk through other more effective methods. } Sebastian signed.
“That’s even more annoying.” especially since he had absolutely no idea what was even being said to him. There was no effort to even try and conceal his temper, eye narrowing slightly at the taller male. “I can’t even understand you anyways.” he replied flatly, not bothering to try and beat around the issue at hand.
Send in “What happened to you?” To help my muse bandage wounds.

“It does, being lonely is practical in many ways; but, practicality is not always pleasant. You will survive if you’re lonely, but you certainly won’t enjoy it.”
“I disagee. I think it suits me just fine. I keep to myself and have no real issues with doing so, or the consequences.”

The little angel put the squirrel onto his shoulder, though the animal immediatly made its way to climb onto his head. And the boy got up from the patch of grass he had been kneeling on. Wings taking a short strech before folding back on his back. And the little angel turned to Astre, a smile as bright as the sun on his lips.
“ It’s a pleasure Astre! “ He held out a hand, like he had often seen it. He took that as the common way to greet someone.
“Right.. thank you.”
He watched the squirrel climb up the boys head curiously, but did not bother to comment on it. He didn’t move away when Elias approached him, but did hesitate for a moment before he reached out and took the offered hand, slowly shaking it and offering a faint smile as he did, trying to at least seem friendly.
“The same to you.” he nodded yet again, shaking his hand before pulling it back.

The laughter ceased, and Ciel took a deep breath. An explanation for the reappeariance of his dead brother? “ I don’t think it would exactly help. “ Not a ghost-story maybe, but still a bit too much to process. Ciel’s world had nothing supernatural about it, weird coincidences and unexplained occurences maybe. But that comes with their family. … Maybe he might need that explanation to understand why he might not be losing his mind? Part of him would like to avoid it though.
“ I just have to process… this whole… image here. “ He pointed at Astre as a whole. It was just… off. Unsettling. The last time he saw his brother still was a strong image in his mind, and this version of his brother couldn’t be further from it. Yet so similair. It certainly.. was a good reason for a headache. “ Sorry… I’m not the best with dealing with… “ With surprises? With impossible things happening? With things that remind him of his past? With the memory of his brother’s death? All of the above probably.
“ You know… maybe I’d like to hear your try to explain it… “ Alright, he changed his mind on that now. Maybe it will help? Not like he can lose anything with trying to understand this situation right now. “ But… You know… maybe in a more comfortable environment? “
He knew trying to explain wasn’t going to make everything better. He didn’t believe in such simple solutions anymore. Nothing was ever simple in life, or in death. Those were truths he had already been forced to face many times over. Yet, he wished that it was that simple. That they could have a simple chat and then move on. But there was a lot more to discuss than just what had happened to him, unfortunately.
“Where ever you want to go.” he nodded, wanting to at least try to make this somewhat more comfortable for the elder. He shifted, adjusting his glasses, though it was more an absent-minded fidget then anything else. He hated feeling so awkward about this. They were supposed to have a better bond than that, weren’t they? Why did everything have to feel so disjointed and disconnected, then?
“...I want to hear about you, too. If you’re alright with that.” he wanted to know how he held up, if nothing else. He assumed, at the very least, at least his brother had a support system. He could not see their family, or their fathers friends, letting him go through such an ordeal alone.

“ Maybe, but they look cute with one. “ That was the point of it. It had no practical use, Elias knew that much. But he had his fun playing with flowers and the squirrel.
A soft chuckle came from the angel as the other commented on the squirrels behaviour. Elias gently stroke over the squirrels head. “ Indeed. And I like her! We’re friends now! “ He simply had this calming effect on any animal. Maybe it’s also just his own calm and friendly behaviour spreading to the animal.
Though then he turned his attention back at Astre, smiling at him friendly.
“ I am Elias and what is your name? “
“I suppose they do?” he did not really know. He was not one to focus on ‘cute’ things. He never really had been.
He supposed that there was something unnatural about the animal’s fondness to the boy, but it was not something Astre could confirm. He did not really know anything about these creatures, and had not been warned of them or their abilities like he had been warned of the demons and their kind. He was snapped from his thoughts by the younger questioning his name.
“Ah, Astre. It’s nice to meet you Elias.”

“I do not understand what you mean.”
Astre did not really want to stick around for a conversation, but he did not really have a choice. Whatever he had to do to get out of here faster though.. He could handle a bit of small chat.

“Then what does loneliness have to do with anything?” he prodded, making a face. “Being alone doesn’t hinder your ability to do that.”
“Loneliness means no connections, nothing to weigh you down. It’s a double edged sword really; if you have no one in your life you have no reason to die for anyone or to feel a loss for, but loneliness is not pleasant either.”

“ It certainly must be… “ If not complicated how else could it be that his brother is standing in front of him? He was at the burial of the body. How can a fact, something so solid, just… be turned upside down? What sort of supernatural occurence was he becoming part of right now?
Ciel took a step away, fingers pressed against his temples. “ I really… can’t… wrap my head around this whole thing right now… This is just… “
Crazy. He looked at Astre, a moment just staring at him again, before his lips curved up and laughter came from the young Earl. This really was crazy. He tried to prove himself that this Astre had been a figment of his imagination, and he still was not convinced that that was the case.
“ And I laughed at the ghost stories of people! Now I look like a fool. “
This was exactly why Astre never wanted to see Ciel again. He hated seeing that obvious turmoil on the elder’s face, and he hated even more knowing that he was the cause of it. It was less painful for all involved if he just vanished.
But if there was one thing he had learned over the past few years it was that one could not turn back, and trying would only hurt you. “I remember that.”
Of course he did-- the younger twin had always been enveloped in fairy tales and in magic, while his brother was quick to deny such things every time. They used to get into the most minor of arguments over those sorts of things, after all. “I’m not a ghost though, if that assures you at all.” probably not in the least.
“...I can try and explain it, but I don’t know if that would help you.”
This will one day be a real headcannon post but it’s 1000% canon to this AU that Astre uses his age // physical age to his advantage constantly.

The angel turned his attention to the stranger speaking to him. Curious blue eyes looking up, small white wings on his back fluffing up a little. There was something… odd. Though Elias paid no mind to that sensationg, and instead lifted his hands where a squirrel was calmly sitting on. What was special here however was that around the squirrels neck was something looking like a necklace made out of dasies. “ I’m trying to figure out the size of a flowercrown for squirrels. “
“A flower crown on a squirrel would be counterproductive. It would just eat it or knock it off.” he replied, canting his head slightly to the side. He had never encountered an angel before, he couldn’t say he was not curious. “It seems to have taking quite the liking to you, though.” he added, not liking the idea of completely crushing some random child’s dreams. Even if it was something as odd as this.
