👣 sockprints: the next generation!👣
sorority sugar Sweet Elite Sponsor SOCKPRINTS has been a longtime friend of my blog since the early days. They offer high quality customizable socks for recruitment, bid day, big/little and so much more. Morgan (Alpha Xi Delta, University of Washington) and Erinn (Kappa Alpha Theta, UC Santa Barbara), daughters of the sockprints partners, share their views on sockprints and their entrepreneurial moms for this special Sockprints Guest Blogger post…….
👣 Our Moms Own Sockprints! 👣
Sockprints was the brainchild of two former soccer moms, Hayley and Jann, who partnered together to create a unique and patented process that prints almost anything onto a pair of socks. A few years ago they saw an opportunity in the Greek market and reached out to stores and online sites looking for a new product to sell. Sororities and fraternities have proven to be the perfect niche for specialty socks. Many Greek merchants and individual members have embraced the idea and love sorority socks. We love them too!
👣 Do you remember how sockprints started?
Morgan: Erinn and I played on a club soccer team together in middle school and high school. My mom had a print apparel business and Erinn’s mom worked in the sock industry. I remember my mom coming home one day and sharing that they had an idea and would be working together to print on socks. The first pair of socks they produced was for our club soccer team with our names and faces printed on them. No one had that kind of socks. Anytime someone saw our cute custom printed socks, Erinn and I were happy to share that our moms made them and they could buy some printed socks too.
Erinn: Morgan and I have watched the growth of sockprints from the very beginning. We saw it start as a “just for fun” idea for our soccer team to a growing business that has literally gone from taking over our living rooms to moving into an office/warehouse space in a few short years. The growth we have seen is not only remarkable but also inspiring. Our moms have successfully started a flourishing business while juggling family and other commitments and we are in awe of them.
👣 What do you think of custom printed socks for Bid Day?
Morgan: Sockprints socks are the PERFECT accessory for Bid Day. This year our Bid Day theme was Alice in Wonderland and my mom printed the cutest socks to match our color theme. Not only were these socks great for Bid Day, but they are so perfect for other activities like going to the gym or football games. We love to wear anything with our sorority name on them and socks are my favorite accessory. They seem to be my house’s favorite too!
Erinn: It’s always fun to see the unveiling of the Bid Day t-shirt and putting together the goodie bags for all the new members, but this year we included our custom printed THETA socks, the most perfect accessory for Bid Day or ANYDAY!! Our new pledge class LOVED the socks and it’s always amazing to see them walking, biking, and skating around campus while rocking some sockprints sorority socks! I’m so proud!
👣 Is there a career at sockprints in your future?
Morgan: I can absolutely see myself working at sockprints. It’s such a fun and unique company. I would love to be a part of and it would be great to keep my mom’s legacy going. The possibilities with this company are endless!
Erinn: (laughs) That’s a question you will have to ask my mom!
