If Leopardstar did narratively face consequences for how she let TigerClan happen and Stonefur get executed, what do you think they should have been in canon? (Similar to how Stripestar faces consequences for StormClan by the story was yet shown to be an interesting protagonist).
Yeah, it is interesting to apply StarClan's response to StormClan (a fusion of Wind/ThunderClan) to the events of TigerClan (a fusion of Shadow/RiverClan.) Since in that book, StarClan, or the Clan Founders at least, were so adamant about StormClan being essentially an abomination lol. So like, they must have felt similarly about TigerClan, right?
Honestly, I think Leopardstar messed up badly enough that she could have been stripped of RiverClan's leadership. Like the job of a leader is to put their Clan/Clanmates first, which Leopardstar definitely didn't do, resulting in Stonefur's execution (and Mistyfoot, Stormfur, and Feathertail's torture/imprisonment.) And like I mentioned above, Leopardstar also symbolically "destroyed" RiverClan by turning it into TigerClan, so applying StormClan's Folly StarClan logic means her lives/leadership was basically forfeit from that act alone.
The question then would be who leads RiverClan next, since there is no deputy/successor with Stonefur dead. I can't really think of a better alternative, so I guess we'd just have to go with the obvious answer of Mistyfoot. But I don't imagine that going from (exiled) warrior to Clan leader would be an easy transition for her. She wouldn't have been deputy so wouldn't have any leadership experience that way, and then you add the mess of what her Clanmates did to her(/her brother/her apprentice/Stormfur) during TigerClan like only a moon or so ago on top of it...
Then we must ask what happens to the demoted Leopardfur. Maybe whether or not she stayed in the Clan would be left to Mistystar's discretion? I feel like I could see it going either way: Like, after Leopardfur was already punished by losing the leadership, I don't think Mistystar would exile Leopardfur without cause, especially if she seems remorseful. But also I could see Leopardfur possibly being a troublemaker or challenging Mistystar's leadership, so maybe it would be better for Mistystar if she was kicked out.
