Sorry. My mind is kind of all over the place. Repeat yourself, Iâll listen real close this time, okay?
I was just asking if you have any plans for this weekend.. But itâs okay.
I don't. How come?
Sorry, you were saying?
Um.. Nothing, never mind.
Sorry. My mind is kind of all over the place. Repeat yourself, I'll listen real close this time, okay?

{ "Fancy Dinners" } - Alex and Jasey
He noticed her looking around and felt a strange jolt in his chest. The lights reflecting off her face got him in awe, which wasnât something just any girl could do.Â
Alex was noticing the different changes in him, and he wasnât sure if he liked it or not. Other people seemed to like it, but the boy never really bothered about worrying what others liked and didnât like about him. He knew he was great. Her voice pulled him away from his thoughts and he laughed lightly.
He shook his head at her response and licked his lips subconsciously. âNope, that wasnât it. Gotta try again.âÂ
Jasey groaned. She really thought she had it. Did he not think that the night was a beautiful as she did? Or was she wrong to think it was beautiful at all?
But she continued to take a look at everything, taking her time before thinking of an answer. The answer was something, but she wasn't sure what it was. She wasn't even sure if she was playing right.
"Can I give up? Am i allowed to give up? Please say yes."
I just⌠I came out to have a good time! And I am!
That does sound like an awful good time. *smiles* May I join you?
Sure, of course! Join away!
So what are you doing out anyways, other than having a good time *chuckles*
Getting fresh air, chilling. Doing all those good things.
Havin a good time is always good.
It is, ain't it?

He laughed and nodded. âAlright, alright. This is how you play. Youâve gotta look around and say, âI spy with my little eye something that is⌠whateverâ and then the other person guesses what you spied.â He knew that it wasnât the best description of the game, but he really didnât know how else to put it. He hoped she got it though.Â
He looked around and sighed. âIâll go first okay⌠I spy with my little eye something that isâŚ. beautiful.âÂ
Jasey listened closely to the rules of the game. The kids at school used to play it. She wondered why they had never thought to teach her when she asked.
Her eyes were focused on the city, the way the lights looked and how many there were. It was beautiful, so at Alex's last word, she had already thought of what he had "spied". She pretended to think for a while, looking around the car even. This was how you played, right?
"Outside," Jasey said. "It's beautiful outside.."
I just... I came out to have a good time! And I am!
Wow.. I- I mean y-you look great.
Cook.. Hello. Hi.
{ "Fancy Dinners" } - Alex and Jasey
"Well I got work here, so I canât really go with the public transit all the time. Getting a car was just easier for me, I guess." He smiled and looked over at the girl in his passenger seat. "Of course, that was a joke." He chuckled before looking back to the road. "But, given the fact youâve never played one, I guess we have to now⌠Do you know I spy?"
That was the game his mother had played with him when he was a kid. It was one of the few memories he had of her, before his dad had fucked the whole thing up.
But he didnât wanna think about that at the moment. Alex was barely 21 and yet he was still doing better than his old man, and he planned on keeping it that way. Besides, he had a beautiful girl who seemed to want to be in his company at the moment.
"You're talking about this with the wrong girl," she admitted. She'd barely ever been in a car before she turned 15. Jasey was sure she had missed out on many things growing up. The kids at school even told her she had, but she was making money before any of them attempted to even buy off of her. Maybe her childhood hadn't been the best and maybe her parents were not the greatest, but her grandpa was a pretty great guy and she had wished she'd spent more time with him than out in the streets.
"But, how does it go? Maybe you can teach me," she smiled. She meant it. It could be the best way to get rid of her nerves and get her mind off of what could be happening in Miami or if her parents had found a lawyer to get them out. Because tonight wasn't about that. Tonight was about being out and having dinner and she liked the thought of that much better than any other.

He shook his head. âNot at all. You look wonderful.â He took a step back and let her out.
Alex chuckled. âIf itâs not good, Iâll do more than leave a note. Weâll scream it at the whole restaurant, âthis is actual horse shitâ and just walk out in a fuss and grab some Maccaâs or something.â He led them to the car and smiled at how funny it would be, two people dressed as fancy as they were right now getting maccaâs.
He opened her door for her and then made his way to the drivers seat.Â
"No matter how many times Iâve driven in this damn city, Iâm never going to get used to the whole left side thing. The UK is fucking weird." He mumbled as he backed out and made his way unto the road. It was a nice night, heâd admit it. It wasnât too chilly, but cool enough for a coat. And there was no wind, it was peaceful. Heâd say it, but didnât want to sound gay.Â
"Itâs kinda far, but I guess weâll play some car games or something to get our minds off the time." He decided to say, trying to make conversation. Alex wasnât used to this. He was used to meeting a girl, having sex with her a couple of times, and then leaving. This was very different. Worse than driving on the left side, he thought.Â
She exhaled and smiled. Maybe this wouldn't be that bad after all. She just needed to relax. This wasn't going to be a big disaster if she didn't let it be.
"Maccas?" she questioned before feeling like a complete idiot. "Right. McDonald's. I still haven't gotten used to the slang here," Jasey chuckled. Maybe fast food was a better idea than a fancy restaurant, though she'd never say anything.
After getting into the car, Jasey buckled up and she was ready to go.
She laughed a little as she heard him. "Yeah, I refuse to drive here. I feel like it'd mess me up and I'd definitely mess it up. I mean, left is confusing." She fixed the hem of her dress pulling it down a little as she noticed the way things looked outside. This was quite a nice place after all.
Jasey shrugged it off. She didn't really care how far away it was. Spending the night with Alex--in a different way this time--seemed like a nice use of her time. "Car games? I've never played any before," and in that moment, she wished she'd been lying.

Once he got to her door, he knocked lightly. âLittle pig, little pig, let me come in or Iâll huff and puff and blow your house âŚ. Damn.â He stopped when she opened the door, taking in the sight. She had changed her makeup, and fixed up her hair. Maybe she didnât but something was different and hell he noticed.
"My car is just outside, milady." He said in a posh accent, laughing lightly and holding out his arm for the pretty girl in front of him.Â
It was somewhat strange to him, to be acting with Jasey this way. But they were both different now, and it made their friendship a lot different too.Â
"I googled this real fancy place to go to, Iâve never been before so donât blame me too much if itâs not that good."Â
The door swung open to reveal Jasey, but the boy's reaction hadn't helped to calm her nerves. "Too much?" she asked him, hoping it wasn't. It felt weird to be nervous. It was just Alex. Or maybe it was the fact that it was Alex. She didn't know, but something had made her feel like maybe this wasn't such a great idea, like maybe her heart was about to come out through her stomach.
Jasey smiled, stepping outside into the hallway and closing the door, her clutch in hand. "Then we should get going, yeah?" she said, linking her arm with his. What a strange day this had turned out to be.
She had felt a giggle come on but stopped it immediately. Jasey Johnson did not giggle. "I promise I won't," she told Alex, her laugh very small. "But can we at least leave a not saying so? If it's not good, I mean?"
{ "Fancy Dinners" } - Alex and Jasey
Alex was excited, and it wasnât in a sexual way this time. He really was glad that he could take Jasey out. Heâd said it, but he really couldnât believe how beautiful she was in that damn dress. Of course he knew she was good looking, but holy hell she looked like a goddess in that simple dress he could barely take it. It took all of his control to be a gentleman that night, instead of being his usual just-sex-nothing-else self.Â
He went to his dorm and took off his casual wear, slipping on a grey dress shirt and some black dress pants. He even wore his nicer pair of shoes, and put a bit of gel in his hair. He looked good, as usual, but this was a more professional Alex people werenât quite used to yet. This was the Alex heâd want to be.Â
He grabbed his wallet, leather coat and car keys and closed the door, whistling a random tune as he made his way to pick up Jasey from her dorm. He was glad she agreed to this date.
Was it even a date? He didnât really know much about this whole feelings thing, he was still learning. He didnât mind if it was Jasey, but he wouldnât make any assumptions yet. Heâs just going to let things happen. Some parts of Alex stayed the same.Â
Things had felt natural with Cook the night they had laid in bed together. Yeah, laid. That was what they had done and he told her he liked her. But she was nervous, now. Nervous about going out with Alex. Not out-out, but going out. Like, on a date. She could barely stand still as she thought about it.
Was her make up done right? Had he even really meant to ask her to dinner? Was this weird considering they had sex? Nothing really made sense anymore. This was not the Jasey she wanted to be. Where'd all these thoughts come from in the first place?Â
But she tried to push them away because he'd be at her door any second now. That was when she got really nervous. Jasey couldn't stop thinking about whether or not this was an official date and how she'd act on it. Fancy dinners were not her thing. She'd never thought she'd be going on one back home. But things happened here. Things really happened at Northgate.
{ "Fancy Dinners" } - Alex and Jasey
Jasey had dressed up. She'd tried on many, many dresses before debating anything. Shopping was fun, sure, but everything seemed so much harder after you got home with your bags because you had to decide where you'd wear these things. And after ever piece of clothing, she'd say a name or maybe a place or some kind of event she could wear the outfit at, but this dress was a mystery. Jasey had nowhere fancy to go. In fact, fancy was the opposite of everything she was.
But Alex had found her there, as she stood debating where to take this one piece. Just the one. It had basically ruined her whole day as she spent it standing there, not knowing where she'd wear it or if it was even booby enough.Â
A dinner sounded nice. Of course it did. And the more she thought about it, the more she realized this could be the only chance she'd get to wear the dress. Saying "no" wasn't an option and as Alex scurried away to change into whatever he had decided he'd wear that nice, the more she thought about whether this was a date or not.
Don't get me wrong, I've been on a date before. I mean, I think it was a date, but is this a date? Could this be a date?
