Dear Mr Tidd, On behalf of our school and the attached parent signatories to this petition, respectfully request your consideration of our petition, to keep our flying Padres, Major David and Jennie Shrimpton in the Northern Territory. Given the major cutbacks we're experiencing with the Northern Territory Education, it is imperetive to have David and Jennie remain in the territory to maintain and continue the stability they bring to our already stressed school community. The RE program that they run at our school is so valuable to our school children who always look forward to David and Jennie's visits. The parents of our school students full support our school and would would dearly love to see David and Jennie stay on here in the Territory to continue running this wonderful RE program and also provide additional support to our staff and community members. Dave Shrimpton has bee the Padre at NORFORCE. He has been a very important member of our unit. He has spported our Unit that covers 1.8million square km. He has alwsys been there for the soldiers on operations throug out the north of Australia. He is our life line andvthe life line for all the communities and isolated properties of the outback. He is a gift thst can never be re paid.- ANDE FINN, NT

Dave and Jennie are part of our community, they have been there with a kind word, a friendly face, represented us when we could'nt be there , been there to marry some of us , and to support those in misfortune. Flying Padre David Shrimpton.

I would just like to say that we have known David now for 13 years. He has witnessed our children grow up, he has pulled us through some very hard times, he has supported us in our moves within the Northern Territory, he is an idol in all our eyes. David is naturally gifted with some extremely good talents; the Northern Territory will come at a great loss, if we were to lose David and Jennie Shrimpton.

It has taken Years for David to be accepted into this community, a lot of time sweat and hard work.

David has some very big shoes that he fills; the replacement will have a very hard time filling these as David has left his footprints all over the country.

I feel that this is a very selfish act on the Salvos part to do to David and Jennie, re the decision made in regards to transfer them to Echuca, especially considering his dedication he has given the Salvos and us over the last decade and more.

David flies into many of the missions & communities in the NT & WA. His work there is so important for the people in these places. David also takes Christmas presents and does Christmas services for the communities.

As the teaching principal of a small school in remote NT, the term visits by our Padre David and Jennie were a highlight. Eyes were turned skyward from smoko on, ears pricked for the hum if an engine. For me it was a contact with someone who would listen, who understood the trials and tribulations of isolated living. They are supportive, wise and much needed. They know” us. This relationship has been forged over many years. Something that takes time, something we value.

VH SVA on the strip at Hidden Valley Stn. Visits from David are always a high light of the month. The service that David & Jennie provide for the bush people is very important. Weddings, funerals, christenings along with counseling & other support.
