Most of us are anti-endo/anti willo/etc so its preferred if endos+similar don't interact with us.

We are currently a minor.

We honestly dont know what we'll do here yet but we'll probably just post art here whenever we get motivation to draw or talk/rant about random stuff

and let's be honest. if something bad was happening, good sex ed would help them recognize that. trying to shelter children from even knowing what sex is doesn't help or even work, it actually enables abuse. teach them about consent

Sex ed is essential to protecting kids from sexual abuse. It's what teaches them that it is something wrong, and that they need to tell someone. Whether it's happening to them, or to a friend, or to some random kid they're talking to on the internet, they can say, "Wait, I know about this, don't let them do this, tell somebody!"

Keeping kids completely in the dark about sex only serve to enable abusers. Don't buy into this purity culture bullshit.

Teaching children that any discussion of their body is shameful and should not happen is a sure fire way to empower an abuser to control them. Give children the language they need to protect themselves and tell trusted adults about their concerns. Give them a way to ask questions in a safe and welcoming environment.

So at my work-learning place, we usually eat at a restaurant (restaurant teaches future servers/cooks).

However due to holidays the restaurant is closed for the next 3 weeks??

We do get money for every day they are closed (not me) but damn it sucks 😭

Either way it doesnt disturb me since luckily next Thursday my vacation starts for 2 weeks...

Saw someone a bit ago say smth about "Dont't use plural, thats a endo term!"(No clue if person saying it was endo or not) but like, people, please, remember that theres other languages and for some people plural just makes more sense because its similar/good translated like that from their language..

Always find it so stupid when I see people talk about undiagnosed systems and say "well if you think you have it go to a professional and get help/diagnosed!!"

Cause like. Have they ever thought of the fact that theres multiple reasons why people might NOT seek professional help?

1. Parents, especially if the system isnt an adult. Not every parent lets their kid see a doctor

2. Waiting lists, it can take *ages* to get a doctor, atleast where I live

3. Sometimes you also *were* at a doc but had one that missdiagnosed you or said everything is fine

4. Theres doctors that straight up deny systems existing (cough, my old therapist)

And there could be more reasons still??

please wear sunscreen!!! I've seen "fuck the beauty industrial complex" posts about complicated skincare regimens and am 100% with them except sometimes they mention sunscreen and no. no. absolutely not. sunscreen is a wonderful supportive friend who wants to keep you safe, and you should let her do it. throw out all your other cosmetics and skincare products if you want, but keep your sunscreen. and if you're not wearing sunscreen, start wearing it!!!! this is not about terror of aging, this is not about every tiny imperfection our fucked-up culture has made you feel insecure about, this is about protecting yourself from skin cancer. wear the damn sunscreen.

Also, don't follow that pop science idea of black/brown people not needing sunscreen, please. Save yourselves. Because while melanin is [PT: is] a protection from UV rays, you can still very much get skin cancer. And the darker the skin, the less doctors are taught how to see skin cancer. So it's way more common for y'all to be left with it with no diagnosis. Making it easier to have it reach its latest stages with no treatment, and end up dead.

This is especially important with these heat waves we've been seeing. Heat strokes are at an all time high. Protect yourselves.

I was volunteering as a safe stop in a convention, with some prevention health equipment, and in 2 days in a very small venue we had 8 heat strokes that ended up in the ambulance.

Be safe. Use sunscreen.

SERVICE DOG PSA

So today I tripped. Fell flat on my face, it was awful but ultimately harmless. My service dog, however, is trained to go get an adult if I have a seizure, and he assumed this was a seizure (were training him to do more to care for me, but we didn’t learn I had epilepsy until a year after we got him)

I went after him after I had dusten off my jeans and my ego, and I found him trying to get the attention of a very annoyed woman. She was swatting him away and telling him to go away. So I feel like I need to make this heads up

If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help

Don’t get scared, don’t get annoyed, follow the dog! If it had been an emergency situation, I could have vomited and choked, I could have hit my head, I could have had so many things happen to me. We’re going to update his training so if the first person doesn’t cooperate, he moves on, but seriously guys. If what’s-his-face could understand that lassie wanted him to go to the well, you can figure out that a dog in a vest proclaiming it a service dog wants you to follow him

I was born with my lower jaw being like, more behind than my upper jaw (aka my uper jaw is forward while my lower jaw is farther back and they dont align)

Now my parents never considered braces for it because it never bothered me, so why bother changing it?

Then I had a phase where I (with 10-14ish) was living in a place with many kids and some weird caretakers.

They wanted it 'fixed' and went with me to a doc who was like "well it doesnt need to be fixed but if we dont then as a adult you can only fix it with a surgery" which for me was fine cause I did not want change, I was fine with how it was.

Tge Caretakers insisted tho in fixing it so i got braces for 2 or 3 years. They didnt help at all. In fact they made it worse so now my jaw randomly hurts real bad.

There was no need for it to change aside the fact those caretakers wanted my face to look good :(

This is deformimisia, medical abuse, and caregiver abuse.
