In case you missed it, a huge update is out! Link Before we get to it, I want to thank TieflingGrimoire who did the vast majority of work on this update. Please go show her some love and appreciation. Auri is just as much her mod as she is mine, at this point. The TL:DR of 2.0: -Auri has been moved to her own framework. This means she will no longer be compatible with framework mods like NFF. -Auri has received a facelift. Her default appearance is now a slightly modified version of Kadraeus Daughter of Valenwood. (Thank you SO much!) -Auri can now be asked to rest anywhere in the world. -New combat system, which allows Auri to use either daggers or a bow. No more punching dragons. -If you suffer from restartitis, you can now skip Auri's quest by reminding her that you already did it! -Singing on/off toggle. -Romance quest is now spaced out over time. Does not require sitting down to progress. -Extensive changes to Thistlefoot, hopefully removing many bugs and making him more stable. -Auri will now get 20 arrows after her scene with Elrindir at the Drunken Huntsman. -You now get the Lover's Comfort buff if you're in a relationship with her. -Romance quest now has markers. -Several new conversations and idles. Im thinking too much about Skyrim (and Auri) lately, especially how the game doesn't allow followers in the main quest's ending even if they are by your side the entire rest of the journey.

Probably the devs just didnt want companions soloing Alduin. But if could take followers, how would Auri feel about flying on Odahviing? Or going to Sovngarde? Would she have the courage to challenge Tsun and enter the Hall of Valor?

Flying on Odahviing's back would be the best thing ever and she'd love it!

Going to Sovngarde could potentially be a little scary. I don't know if Auri is the type who would challenge Tsun - honor and glory is more of a nord thing than a bosmer thing. As always, she'd support the DB in whatever they chose to do, though.

Howdy! I've been a long time fan of Auri, but have only recently decided to do the romance quest. This has got me curious, how would she feel about meeting a nonbinary character? They're not common in the Elder Scrolls universe, AFAIK.

Auri is kind of the TES equivalent of a deeply religious redneck/Amish person, so chances are she has never heard of the concept before. She'd treat the subject with a lot of curiosity (and probably potentially offensive questions - meaning no harm of course.) She'd try her best to understand and respect pronouns, though there might be some confusion in the beginning.

Speaking of Volkihar/vampires, does Auri have any strong opinions regarding vampirism (I am being bullied by Xelzaz and am looking for help)

Not on Vampires in general, no. :) She believes being a Vampire by itself doesn't make someone a monster. She doesn't have any commentary on the Volkihar right now, but she'd definitely hate them.

How would Auri feel about a Dragonborn siding with Volkihar (i.e. being turned by Harkon)? Especially, since the Volkihar are like just terribly evil.

What would she think if Harkon or the LDB wanted to turn her as well?

Oh she'd hate it. She's on board with morally grey things, but the Volkihar are just straight up evil. And she'd refuse being turned.

Hello! Answer as much as or little as you'd like, I'm asking for TES writing purposes.

How would Auri fare having an Alinor-raised Altmer/Ex-Thalmor girlfriend?

The type of Altmer to have an etiquette for everything, be rather judgmental, and just in general be snobby to everybody except Auri.

How would she feel about visiting or living in her partner's manor in Alinor if given the opportunity? She's not a huge fan of Thalmor, rightfully so, so I was curious as to what would happen if she somehow got along with an elf who used to be one

Ooh, that's a tricky one. I think Auri would struggle to get along with an Ex-Thalmor unless they'd made it very clear that they no longer subscribe to any Thalmor ideology. Even then, that history is still there, which might make it difficult for her to warm up. If they could get past that hurdle, I think Auri would enjoy the contrast between them. Auri's first instinct when she encounters snobbishness is to provoke and tease, and so she'd probably be a poor guest at a fancy Alinor mansion and break all the rules just to get a reaction out of the Altmer hosting her. (She also has no etiquette to speak of, having literally grown up in the forest, so that'd cause some issues.) I think the contrast is fun, though. It could lead to some interesting interactions.

I recently came across your comment that if you had to make Auri again you wouldn't include a romance - at least not a straight one - and honestly I feel that so hard. Nexus users can be the worst sometimes, pushing heteronormativity onto an implicitly lesbian character developed by lesbians for lesbians.

I would say go for it. Let them complain. This is your mod - not theirs. Your comfort, not their fantasies. Be unapologetic, stand firm, stand up for LGBT representation an in era of evaporating LGBT rights.

I hear you anon. I was a lot younger when I wrote Auri, and I wanted to please everyone. Still fighting that impulse a bit - but that's on me, not the Nexus users. To change Auri's orientation from playersexual to gay now, after almost a decade, would be a cruel and petty thing to do. Straight gamers aren't bad people just because they want to romance Auri when a romance is made available to them. Perhaps this is a controversial opinion, but after all of these years of modding, I've come to a conclusion that a character kinda stops being your character once you release them into the wild. People will mod their games in a billion different ways. They'll change how the character looks and behaves to suit their own playstyle. As follower authors we just kinda have to accept that. That's why I would never recommend you make a beloved OC into a follower. If you want full control of how your character is used in other people's games, don't make a follower. Your wishes will not be respected and that's just how it is. Of course, representation is super important, but again, failing to do so from the beginning was my fault. I'm sorry.
