Over the last two and a half years I have fallen madly in love with the 5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons. Wizards of the Coats has created something truly special with this edition of the game, which beautifully streamlines complex mechanics without sacrificing the role playing or combat aspects of play. Ā As a player, I really enjoy min/maxing as much as possible whenever Iām building a character. I almost always dump (at least) one stat, and in 5th Edition itās difficult for me to pick anything thatās not a human, because getting a feat at level 1 is just SO GOOD. Usually, the personality and backstory of the character I play is built around the stats I needed to pick to have that stupidly powerful level 3 swashbuckler who can dual wield rapiers.
For this project Iām excited to do something a bit outside of the norm for me - flesh out a character sheet in a way that might not be optimal from a min/maxing perspective, but is instead faithful to the personality and backstory of the character Iām playing. During the week if Iām not playing a game or sleeping, Iām usually catching up on the most recent episodes of Steven Universe or Sailor Moon, forcing my drawing tablet into behaving like a sketch book, or painting miniatures for wargames and D&D.
We donāt know what weāre doing.
But we are very excited to be doing it.Ā Out goal is to beam a tabletop role playing game into your ears and eyes.Ā
The gang is still in the process of working out what kind of game weāre going to be playing, how weāre gonna do it, and when weāre gonna start, but weāre on the right track.Ā
