Eyes flicker away as she crouches down. Holding a gaze makes his skin crawl. People oftentimes see way too much too quickly. They assume. They judge.

One part of her declaration causes eyebrows to raise, however. Human facilities? As if there are any other? (Okay, there are pet facilities, but it isn’t as if she doesn’t know what they’re supposed to do to you in psychiatric care. Right?)

What isn’t human usually coincides with his failing psyche. His broken consciousness. He’s scarcely breathing.

Had she let that slip? She was never good at acting human, though. It was a difficult role to play, for someone who never thought they'd ned to in all their years. You never know what life might throw at you though.

"Sorry-- habit." She'll tell him later, don't need him freaking out right now. To tell him she's a demon would only cause him to shut her out, and that wasn't something the redhead wanted. Though, it would probably be just as bad later on.
