It was simple, truly. It was harmless. It was inherently good.

Healing.

At the drop of a hat, wounds- fatal wounds- cured , without any pain, without an oft ineffective recovery process that took years and was often uncomfortable and painful- it was good.

Yet cruelly, the power-hungry -the kind who will stop at nothing- always seem to have a disgusting, repulsive power to ruin good things.

Screams- agonised, unending , ragged and broken screams, hating and hating and hating, wanting nought but their callous , unaffected tormentors to suffer their pain.

They want them to hurt as well.

a violent, unending stream of disgustingly beautiful gore runs from the greedy, gaping mouths carved into the skin of those who Did Not Conform by callous, unfeeling monsters who jeer and applaud at the suffering of those without the power to climb to their ranks, claws and teeth bared, dragging their relentless limbs on the carpeted floors of the smiling masks in power.

they now long for death, but such relief is not a privilege that they are awarded by the foul tormentors with their hands baring on now sullied arcane tomes,

and cruel , biting, ravenous knives.
