I haven't been too involved with the issues regarding FANDOM but if this is a discussion you're serious about, you can talk to me or better yet, try to open dialogue about it be it on the wiki itself. This is not a decision I would make on my own on a whim.
Itās been a while since Iāve done any posting here but a quick update, since getting back into the groove, Iām going to definitely spend some time on the technical side of the wiki & addressing some straggling issues.
But a big update is that the main charactersā pages are now open to edit. Long ago, the main meister characters & Soul were heavy targets for vandalism. But Iām older & bit more smart about how to tackle that should I need to.
Anime stuff is now āBones Continuityā because Fire Forceās existence is dubious for Soul Eaterās anime versions and I donāt dictate canon. Iāll just have it presented seperately & let people make their own conclusions.
Lastly, relationship sections are coming back. Again, Iām older so I thought of better ways to manage this.
please do you have a translation for the guidebook on your hands? ive scoured the internet like crazy, went to 14 different manga sites looking for it.
Answering this very late but better than never: the only guidebook Ć have available for people to look at is the How to Make a Death Scythe guidebook. Otherwise, no dice.
I might look into finding a way to scan or do something with what I have for preservation purposes & documenting them. Getting back into the grove of things, Iāve unfortunately had the displeasure of losing information Ć wish I had screencap or recorded for future translation.
Can Miesters force their Weapons into weapon form? I looked it up and the AI overview said yes but I donāt trust that thing as far as I can throw it and I couldnāt find any other sources.
Sorry for the late reply. Far as canon dictates, the answer is no. There hasnāt been an instance of a meister forcing a weapon to transform.

Heres those pages from Soul Eater Not! Volume 4.5 translated. While in Books-a-Million, I found the Perfect Edition for the series & was surprised to see they had the Jot stories from it!

The series features a subtle timeskip. Maka is 15 after I believe Chapter 62 & definitely by the end of the series.
Heres those pages from Soul Eater Not! Volume 4.5 translated. While in Books-a-Million, I found the Perfect Edition for the series & was surprised to see they had the Jot stories from it!
All the interactions are so sweet. Now I remember why Soul x Anya was a thing. XD
Now that I think about it, we never actually got to know the real meme. We only knew the manipulated one with amnesia.
Also a super important flat chest joke. Ha ha, that was super necessary. š
The real Meme is just current Meme w/ less scatterbrain-esque traits which is explained as a byproduct of Shaula's spell on her given the last few chapters of Not. She still a martial artist, she cares about Tsugumi and Anya all the same, and she directly confronts Shaula about twisting HER aspirations. It's not like a case where the brainwashing was so drastic that it complete rewrite her as a different person.
Tbh, I had forgotten about how frequent the flat chest jokes were (Its been a while since I picked up Soul Eater) and then I dreadfully remembered.
Oh, I thought the "real" Meme would be a more serious character. At least, that's what I interpreted from what little we see and hear.
I think that's the general experience when revisiting Soul Eater. You forget how many weird and unpleasant things are in it.
She is compared to her when she was magically influenced but it's not dramatic. Its also Soul Eater so I'm not surprised she isn't drastically different.
Bout the same here. What actually got me even more weirded out was that the Jot chapters explained how some characters would be middle schoolers or high schoolers. Im double the age I was since I first watched Soul Eater so I'm even more wretched about how the select adult characters (Spirit, Sid) having lecherous moments in the OG series.
It's been a while and I also have other wiki projects I've taken but you'll probably be seeing me doing more edits now. I'm revising how I currently do the wiki and will make whatever improvements. One of those things is renaming pages based on Perfect Edition since those editions advertise having updated translations, which has helped clarify small details and context.
So one of the things the Jot stories revealed that was not known was that the same fighting style Akane and the Star Clan uses is also known to Meme and Tsubaki given they attended events of that nature as part of their training. On the wiki, it's been named old ways and ancient martial arts for the manga and anime respectively (and now just ancient martial arts since Perfect Edition chose that translation too).

Soul Eater guidebooks
I've always wondered what these were. I'd buy them myself but I don't have the money to pay for shipping it overseas. I can't find any scans of them either.
I actually own all of these so feel free to ask questions. I also found an online scan of the guidebook and can give you a link if you like.

Theoretically wouldnāt there need to be another member of the Eight Shinigami Legions, besides the ones we saw in that one manga panel? Because right now itās only 8 if you count Death, and Excalibur would need someone to wield him, right? I have a hard time imagining any of the other Great Old Ones doing so

I'm not sure. It depends if Death is counted as the Eight Shinigami Legions for starters. It can count him or it's eight people are those under his leadership. Little was expressed about the team and I have no other supplementary source I'm aware that addresses that.
But looking back at Chapter 16, there's Death, Eibon, Asura, and three other unnamed people. That came out years or so before Excalibur was revealed to be among the members and the Great Old One of Power, who went unnamed (Was called the Black Mass back then) for like a long time until I found out he was explicitly referred to that and Scanlations didn't catch it.
Asura, Eibon, Excalibur, and Great Old One of Power makes 4 named characters. Since it's plausible, we'll count Death to make it 5. That makes the three unknown characters the last 3 members.
It's highly possible that one of the characters there is Excalibur's meister. One of them also is Vajra (I think it's the guy who invokes a Indian appearance) and based on Spirit's guidebook entry mentioning that the clan he is a part of has served as Death's weapon for generations, one of them is Spirit's ancestor (hence explaining how he can consistently utilize a scythe weapon. I think it would be the guy talking.),
Do you know if the original manga volumes had any authorās notes from Ohkubo? Since the Perfect Editions donāt, Iām wondering if maybe they were omitted or if he just never did anything like that until Fire Force. Mostly I ask because Iāve heard it stated (in the manga? on Twitter?) that he gave Bones guidance on how the anime would progress after it split off from the source material, which is probably true, but Iāve never found anything from him that confirms that before.
The original manga volumes had both commentary in the form of a comic with Usher acting as the authorās avatar sometimes & translation notes, which I assume was provided by Yen Press so English readers can understand context.

Nope. Regarding the official fan books, I actually bought them myself and whatever information on the wiki on them are from me running it through translation stuff.
Reminder that generally speaking, when it comes to theĀ āwiki saying xyzā, especailly for shipping, 9/10 times Itās not really theĀ āwikiā (be it a analogue for me [the most notable contributor] or the community) and sometimes, itās old shit I havenāt gotten around to deleting and/or revising because we are 1,000+ pages and counting right now.Ā
