"Moonlit Magick" - 22" x 30" watercolours & acrylics on 140lb coldpress fabriano. I wanted to challenge myself to paint in watercolours large scale instead of the smaller size I normally work at. Having the extra real estate allowed me to indulge in the detail work of the foliage and sky, and I picked up some new techniques that will inform future work. That being said, I don't think I'll work this large again because logistically it's very tricky to use watercolours on an easel. 😅 The moonlit lady is my interpretation of Morgana from Arthurian legend. Some stories say that she learned to be a sorceress alone in the woods. I imagine her living peacefully among the animals, instead of her as the villain she is often made out to be. I can definitely sympathize with wanting to get away from all the noise sometimes. 💁🏻🔮✨🌲🍃🌔🌫🌌💙💜🍄🍂
"All Embracing" - acrylics on 20" x 30" canvas. Done as a wedding gift for a friend of mine who had a hand in shifting my career path away from the drudgery of the cubicle. I love looking at the sky. Many of my favourite colour palettes originate there. Sharing a brand new painting to celebrate Friday: “Cool Summer” - watercolours on 11” x 14” Fabriano 140lb hot press paper. This will be the first painting in a series done with watercolour pigments made from minerals. These particular colours are special, because many of them have a sparkly quality to them or shift in hue & temperature depending on the density of the wash. When I discovered these paints I absolutely fell in love with them and immediately wanted to do monochrome pieces with them to explore their different hue shifts and textures. I’ve attached some detail shots to try and show the subtle sparkle with this purple, but it’s hard to represent with a scan. I may post a video later on if I can get some good light to show you how ethereal this purple is, I adore it <3<3<3 This painting will be up in my Etsy shop soon, in the meantime, feel free to send any inquires my way through direct messages or my email.
