       “Do you ever wonder what life would be like if humans, nobles and werewolves just lived alongside each other? Openly?” Idly, she sat by the window, not quite motivated to go and do something. In the background, Smetana’s Moldau setting soft tunes as the background noise she seemed to need at all times. Long lived as a noble, yet used to the ever-constant buzz and movement of the humans, tortured by the slow movements of the human world. 

  Slowly, she turned her head to glance at Trauer by her side and, after a moment, shifted a bit, pulled her legs closer to her chest so they could sit with her on the padded window bench. A silent invitation to join her. “I mean this question… in the end, we all have more in common than what makes us different.”

“We’d be hard-pressed to say yes,” he admits. They were not known for thinking about such an ideal life. Imagining a world without conflict? Hah! The werewolves would die of boredom before that happened and the humans’ greed would overtake them before long. A side glance given to Janna, noting the subtle movement. With a sigh, they waddle over to her and pulls himself up onto the windowsill, normally a seamless effort, but their smaller size in this form is a bit of a liability.

“By openly... you mean it literally? The hypothetical scenario of Lukedonia not being confined to the Bermuda Triangle and the werewolves free from their own island. We can foresee nothing but chaos, in that case. Humans fear us, Leader. It does not matter what we have in common; this will always be a fact.”

hkfhdsf rereading some old threads i had with the soul weapons made me miss them so much

ayy so i added some new muses, will likely be low maintenance cuz raskreia is always my main bae, BUT --

coming a close second with only NINE ICONS is garda!! who i probably should icon from the recent arcs but i hate what they did to her design so that’s still a debate

the new tenth elder! his name is not bob

his sis! a new eighth elder! she fades into the background

a clan leader! of the akanishi clan! they specialize in communications/information gathering between the union/werewolf/lukedonia. my particular clan leader is ousted as being untrustworthy so she’s doing her best to get into everyone’s good graces :( she had her own blog a while back but i’m a bad caretaker so she died. and now she’s back.

     mind but an endless void of blackness, whatever could have given her at least a ray of light was gone ― you merely need rest, girl, put your anxieties to sleep within the narrow, choking walls of your chamber, hiding tears in your pride & sadness behind your doll face.

     but this blue of midnight that fell akin to a velvet fabric over the land carried nothing like that for her, not rest was it; it was the so unreachable, the crown too heavy; unknown, yet to be learned. so perfectly replicated from them ( their very essence ) it ached.

Their souls screamed at the injustice, horror not impaired by the short passage of time; it was traitors that took their lives and it was traitors that would continue to live. No, it did not all happen at once. A few souls were taken on the first day their fellow nobles turned their backs on them. As time transpired and the former leader of the Loyard clan left with the prospective heir, as well as other members, that was the day when their entire clan was massacred.

And their crying essence manifested itself into one place, the only place where those souls could go, clinging to bitterness and revenge and sorrow; the Death Scythe. Their wielder, the leader that no one would expect, was a young noble who had not yet reached her coming of age. Yet they would place the future of the clan into her hands now.

❝ We are your family. ❞ The only two on the vast space that belonged to the Loyards. The somber atmosphere must be lightened, thus, it was a look of acceptance that tilted upon the thin smile spread upon his lips. ❝ Seira J, Loyard, you are our wielder. You have not summoned us yet, but we felt the need to greet you first. ❞

Sweeping his upper body into a bow, he smiled. ❝ We, the Death Scythe, are yours to use. Use us as you please. ❞

Making her worry the way he did made Yuna realize something, despite still being in denial about her feelings. It started with a silly game, but it evolved in a way which she did not expect and she doubted Yuri did either. It was hilarious in a way, yet acknowledging it made her realize what a course things took. Being honest with herself was something which did not come as difficult as it was in that moment, but, perhaps it was the time to tell Yuri how she felt, rather than play around [1/2]

with words the way they did. At least this way he would understand that even his attempt to protect her did nothing but worsen things and that his approach was wrong. Perhaps this way he would stop being a fool and see the reason behind his actions. ❝Yuri, I love you.❞ Those were simple words, however they held a certain weight which sunk the moment she said then. All that remained was to hear his answer or at least notice his reaction if he failed to give a proper response. [2/2]

Neither of them had taken it seriously in the beginning. He, on a whim, always had the tendency ( whether seen as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ remained to be spoken ) to flirt with any beautiful woman he saw. Thus, that day he met Yuna and asked her out on a rendezvous was merely the surface of his feelings, intentions being that of a short encounter he could perhaps entertain himself with. No serious feelings were between the both of them; Yuna and Yuri knew that ulterior motives drove their interactions. For Yuna, he did not know why she indulged his game, but at the very least, he kept himself entertained.

Up until the moment it became serious.

Heart could be shattered to pieces, but then that would mean the existence of said heart; realizing that he would give everything to protect her, even his life, that was when he knew the game they played was his loss. Even if she was not serious, even if sometimes he wondered if her affection was the facet of manipulation and he would simply be the fool for all the times he hurt people, his soul and heart was hers for the taking.

Though that would be ironic to say; she had his heart but not his life. No, that life was controlled by Crombel and he surrendered it to the man who modified him in order to protect her. Thus, after a multitude of fights and heartbreak, finding himself back into arms he never would have thought to call home was... a nice change. Yuri thought himself a tool for the Union, disposable even despite his newfound power. However, if there was one person who thought of him as human in light of the sins he had committed....

That was why, when he heard those three simple words, he knew there was absolutely no doubt in the reality he was living in. He was alive and he was wanted.

For lack of better words, he was loved.

That didn’t mean he wasn’t shocked. His perpetual placid countenance melted away and he could feel himself jolt in surprise. Looking towards Yuna as if he were to hear things, however, she was not the only one who could easily take advantage of a situation.

❝ And I... adore you. ❞

Was he being teasing on purpose? Absolutely.

‘ Deal with it ‘, was it? Somnus was much too accustomed to the silent anger of their leader, and of course, passive-aggressiveness suited one of Seira’s temperament ( or lack thereof ). He could not fathom, however, anything he had done recently to irritate her, so only dumbfoundedness would be the response to the white-haired noble’s… pouting? Could it even be called that? He could tell she was not livid; though lack of facial expression never betrayed her, the bond that all soul weapons shared with their wielder was not one so easily shattered.

Pouting. Well, should he dig himself a deeper hole or attempt to make amends? 

❝ Don’t be like that, Leader. You know broth— we mean, we—are very sensitive and fragile. ❞ Though he supposed this was a good thing? Previous wielders would never dare to show such sentiments to the Death Scythe, and in turn, over the generations they had not learned to comfort well. ❝ Or… would you like us to deal with it, as in, bothering you further and call you by you-know-what—❞
