@soulsofsinnoh
bruh
ooc post!
(( HI EVERYONE it's your blogrunner again.
I hate to say this especially since the project is so new, but SoS is going on hiatus for an indeterminate amount of time. The reason for this is that I was recently whacked in the head with the impulse to rewrite my almost-ten-year-old fanfic, Metal Coat, which is intensely Sinnoh-centric. And I've made a huge amount of progress, much more than when I've tried to rewrite it in the past!! I love MC a lot, it's very important to me. So for now I'm devoting all of my Poké-writing energy to it.
Seriously, I've tried to write SoS posts and all I could think about was Metal Coat, lmao.
When chapters start rolling out, I'll reblog them here so that you all can see what I'm up to. And hopefully begin to see a little bit of why I love it so much. Additionally, after Metal Coat is over, I'll return to SoS. (The first version took four months to write.)
That's all! See you guys soon! ))

SINNOH CONFIRMED
"Did you see the new episode of The Last Dragonrider?"
"No, I don't watch TV. I'm a Trainer."
"You can still watch TV as a Trainer, you know. It's a Pokétch app."
"But why would I want to watch it on that tiny screen?"
"...Good point."
"My son and I make these rods by hand and give them out to Trainers who pass by here."
"You don't charge any money?"
"No. I get paid with something even better. Trainers walk out here in the morning, I give them a fishing rod, and they head out to the lake... and then, every evening, I see those same Trainers coming back out with new Pokémon in tow, and with my fishing rod slung over their shoulder. A lot of them come back to me, showing me everything they catch. If I can show those kids the joy of fishing, that makes it all worth it."
"..."
"Here. Take this. Go forth and fish!"
"Check out my Magikarp! Pretty cool, right? My dad caught her for me. He said that Magikarps are weak in the beginning, but if you train hard and believe in them, they evolve into a crazy awesome Pokémon. Even if Magikarp doesn't evolve, I don't really care, though. She and I have been through a lot together... the memories we share are more important than any battle."
(This man was following me through Jubilife and diving behind too-small cover every time I turned around. I called out to him several times, but he ignored me.)
(I told him I was taking this photo. He said nothing.)
(( ooc post!! ))
so guys GUESS WHAT. remember that post from yesterday about the girl who got sick on her first day out? that was based on real events. because i somehow came down with a cold the same night i started this dumb blog. :') so i've been letting the queue run, but it's empty now and i'm not sure if i will be able to get any more out until this passes :( i doubt it will be more than like four days though!! so don't worry!
“I just caught six Pokémon between here and Sandgem. Now I have a full party!”
“There’s only three species native to that area.”
“Yeah... but I didn’t want them to get lonely. I wanted everyone to have a friend who was kind of familiar, so they always had someone they understood.”
“And what about you?”
“I’m okay. I’m going to make friends with all of them.”
"Why are you in Twinleaf? Do you live here?"
"Nope. Visiting, actually, but I used to live here. My mom and pop have a house over on East Street. I work at the Pokécenter in Sandgem, tech work, but I got a vacation for two weeks so I thought -- why not? And I've been having a great time. Not much changes in small towns like this, or even Sandgem for that matter, but it's like catching up with your old friends. It's nice to go back to your roots now and then."
“I started my journey, like, this morning. Now it’s nighttime, and I’ve already gotten sick. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to buy medicine when I know we have some at home, but why start a journey at all if I just crawl back home the same day for some cough drops and noodle soup? Does that make me a bad Trainer?”
"You can interview me if you promise not to touch anything, how's that?"
"I promise. Thank you, sir. What are you working on right now?"
"Well, you know Professor Rowan studies evolution, so that's what a lot of it boils down to. This machine here has a Dawn Stone in it, see? Dawn Stones come from nature, just like every other stone there is, but they're not as common as, say, a Thunderstone. They're making huge strides with those over in Kanto, which is part of why the Professor took a trip there. Now we're using that knowledge and comparing it to what we see in the Sinnoh-native stones here."
"What have you found so far?"
"That each kind of stone is completely different and we have almost no idea how they work."
"You know, my son Pearl left on his journey a few months ago. He's a pure joy to be around, so I'm sure he'll be a good Trainer to his Pokémon, but sometimes he gets too excited and lands himself in trouble. He and his friend went together, and they're still safe -- I'm just so thankful. I don't know what I would do if Pearl had to face the world on his own."
"Do you still talk to him?"
"Yes, I call him every week. He goes on for hours about all the great things he did that day, the Pokémon he met, the places he saw... he's enjoying himself a lot out there. And he remembers everything, which is odd, because at home he forgets details all the time! It's like his brain is wired for travel and adventuring, just like his father. I never understood it -- but I can hear it in his voice. His life is dangerous now, and he probably makes a lot of that danger for himself, but I can't pull him back. He sounds so happy... I want him to be that happy forever."
Greetings, Internet. I am Platina. You may have seen other Trainers –Brendan, Leaf, Hilda, Lyra, and Lucas, to name a few – start blogs on this platform, sharing the incredible stories they found by talking to passersby on the street. This is another one of those blogs.
“What,” you may ask, “makes this different from any of those other blogs?” The answer, sweet reader, is nothing. There is nothing different. Unless you count the hundreds of thousands of unique stories that are held in the historic region of Sinnoh, generously provided by their original tellers. All of those experiences are unique; others in this same region may by chance ask the same person, but it is highly unlikely that we will both ask the same question and get the same answer.
I am embarking upon this quest to expand my horizons by connecting them with others’. Until now, my life has been sorely lacking in this department. I don’t want to make this blog about me, because it isn’t; it’s about everyone. If you’ll join me, I hope I and the storytellers of Sinnoh can help expand your world a little bit, along with my own. :)
Regards Love,
Platina
