In S2 Makoto is the first character to know about Sousuke’s shoulder injury and worry about it. Kisumi thought he was healing, Haru thought if Sousuke is still swimming it’s fine, Rin didn't even know yet.
Makoto is a Sousuke yapper. Gets asked one question about him and he tells an entire story about how interesting and funny he is
Makoto called Sousuke about Ikuya and admitted that he thinks Ikuya’s changed. Makoto opens up to Sousuke about a friend Sousuke doesn’t even really know, but does so anyways.
Sousuke knows Makoto does a lot for his friends, acknowledged it to Makoto, and admits that it’s why people look out for him (hinting at himself).
Sousuke knows Makoto is multifaceted. He calls him powerful swimmer with nice muscles, and knows Makoto is a little clumsy so reminds him to be careful multiple times during different occasions.
Throughout the entirety of the Final Stroke movies Sousuke realized how stressed Makoto was, and consistently tried to comfort him about it

Sousuke’s beginning views of friendships were based off competing and competition but toward the end of the series he’s whole heartedly emotionally supporting Makoto in a way we haven’t really seen from him before. Makoto is directly being used to show Sousuke's growth in how he views connections.
Makoto trains Sousuke to “replace” him as the backstroke swimmer in the main relay team. Allowing the two to professionally debut together because of each other.
Finally, s2 is SouMako’s shared paralleled season. Makoto and Sousuke’s emotional arcs with Haru and Rin is the driving force of Eternal Summer. With the coaching episode reflecting both of their potential futures and the Timeless Medley movies focusing on Makoto and Sousuke separately.
I love scrapbooking… So of course I had to scrapbook these guys LOL I used the sketch coasters from Timeless Medley and a keychain of Makoto’s in these pages as well. The colors came out super cute since they’re side by side.
For the birthday page I got the keychains and realized the rubber straps were HUGE so I just decided to scrapbook them instead. And they came with coasters that have both of their “handwritten” bday messages in there. Roses and florals to give off a little bit of a romantic vibe hehe. This page reminds me of an actor’s au with how handsome and serious these two look there 🥹
Stolen Hoodie [Sousuke/Makoto] [Day 7 of Flufftober]

Summary: When he saw Makoto wearing his hoodie, he almost lost it.

If he had known that the weather would change that bad, from the morning to the evening, he would have taken a hoodie or a jacket with him. He took a deep breath, if he ran to his apartment, he wouldn’t feel the cold. Right?
Though, there was another reason he was in a rush to go back to his place. He hadn’t seen Makoto the whole day.
“I’m home,” Sousuke announced, as he was leaving his shoes at the entrance.
“Welcome back!” Makoto got out of the bedroom, after changing his work clothes.
At first, Sousuke didn’t notice it. Well, with those green eyes staring back at him, it would be hard to take his eyes away from them. However, when he placed his hand on Makoto’s back, to bring him closer to him, he touched a very familiar fabric to him.
“Wait, let me look at you,” Sousuke said.
“It was cold, and my hoodie has mysteriously disappeared,” Makoto was more amused than anything.
Sousuke ignored that accusation. The hoodie definitely looked better on his partner. How come it was the first time he was wearing it? Or maybe, just the first time wearing it in front of him. Whichever the case was, he absolutely found Makoto very attractive with it.
“You look amazing,” Sousuke whispered.
Each day, Sousuke managed to find reasons to fall in love with Makoto. There was always something that he did or said that made his heart surrender to him.
A smile crossed Makoto’s face. “Did you get cold on your way? I think I have an idea, or two, to keep you warm?”
“You are not taking that hoodie off, “Sousuke warned him, before going to the bedroom holding Makot’s hand.
Maybe the arrival of the cold winds wasn’t bad at all.
