Sound Bytes learns about how sound can affect our moods, focus, and wellbeing to help us in our quest to redesign sounds for video games!
Today we got hands on experience with recording practical sound! Students experienced what it’s really like to record sound to video by recording sound effects in real time. We played back a silent copy of our project trailer while timing sounds to movement. It’s harder than it looks!
“Men shout in righteous rage, but women who raise their voices are still often seen as losing control or, heaven forbid, ‘shrill.’”

We had the excellent opportunity to go with Bump to Dolby, San Francisco today! In this world of sound and film, we got the down low on how the industry works from John as he described what it’s like to work with Dolby on a daily basis. Students even got to check out recording studios and the ever-excellent Dolby Atmos system! Thanks to Dolby and John for letting us see part of your world, and getting us stoked about working in the media industry!

Listening to the Greats, Sound Bytes talks about music and it’s evolution through history.
We know what happens to those who don’t know their history, but what about those who remix it? Sound Bytes began their leap into history today by searching for famous speeches to create their own Vocal Sound Byte remix. Music is closely tied to historical events, and in many ways, creates it’s own footprint in the history books as such. It’s our hope that we can add to that footprint by creating our own remixes and voices, and putting them out in the world.
Someone we admire as a role model. BE THE CHANGE!
