Barring a serious overhaul, I think Love Never Dies is only enjoyable in the Australia proshot because of the combination of performances. Ben Lewis (💔) doing a muppet voice and silly facial expressions rather than trying to be sexy. Anna O’Byrne openly disagreeing with the plot of the musical in interviews and playing the role as if she’s fighting against the script until she has no choice but to follow it. Sharon Millerchip making Meg sweet and nice and really gay for Christine. Watching these performances is fun. Watching the show in any other fashion is like having your teeth pulled for two hours

Genuinely so true though. Anna o’Byrne is general is such an underrated Christine and she portrays the character so well (both POTO but especially LND). You can really see the fear she has both whilst interacting with Raoul and Erik (in some parts of the show). It’s such a nice and heartbreaking contrast when she’s with her ‘son’
