Hey y’all...so long time, no talk. 😊
Well I’m back again and I just wanted to talk about 2017 for a good minute!
But first, tell me, how was 2017 for y’all?? Are y’all hoping for a better year in 2018? Did some exciting things happen for you in 2017?? Let me know!!
As for me, all of the above are true. Some exciting things happened, some not so good things happened, and I’m hoping for a better year!
2017, y’all it was a roller coaster for me. And I say that in a good way...because I learned a lot of new things along with it.
So let’s begin in January of 2017...well I found my absolute best friend and it was amazing actually having real friends. Sure, I have great friends online, but up until this friendship, I’d not had a best friend in a while. He and I were so close...probably too close just to be friends, right?? So time goes on and surely enough, feelings caught on.
We started talking in March of 2017 and we were officially dating in the last week of May 2017. A lot of time passed rather quickly and honestly looking back, it seems like the rest of the time was a blur because I was having the time of my life within those few months. The last week in June was a month we’d officially been together and wow, that’s a month I’ll never forget. I received my first flowers from a guy, along with my first love letter, and this was also the month that my first ever kiss happened to be. I had fallen head over heels for this guy.
But then July came...and things went bad. As you all probably already know from my last post on here. This is the month that he completely broke my heart into a million pieces. I’ll never quite question why...but the breakup happened. From July through September, life was a blur. I honestly don’t really remember a lot of things that happened between those months because I was so broken. I lost almost all hope, but then I realized that God has my back if I just give it all over to Him. So that’s what I eventually did & finally started to get relief and healing from my brokenness.
However in October, I had my 21st birthday and that was such a milestone in my life! I didn’t celebrate with alcohol or partying, but just dinner with my family, the people I love the most. It was such a wonderful time.
Finally in November, I found out some things my ex boyfriend said about me and the breakup and one of my friends spoke truth into me. That was my break through month. I finally gave in and let God have full 100% control of my life and I have gained so much joy back in my heart/soul.
And in December, I had a great time celebrating Jesus’ birth. I went my church Christmas party and had a wonderful time with my friends. Then I got to spend Christmas with my family. Just getting to spend time with the ones I love is always a great moment to have.
All in all, 2017 was a great year. No matter what happened, I believe everything happens for a reason and a purpose. God has been healing me so much over the past few months and I could not be more grateful & thankful. God is truly AMAZING y’all. Even though I had to get through some hard times this past year, God had a purpose. And a great purpose at that. I see so much more light. His greatness has truly opened my eyes. For that, I am forever grateful. 2017 was definitely a rough and tough ride, but I think I am ready for 2018 and all of its new adventures.
Here’s to a brand new year full of new beginnings. I pray that everyone will have a wonderful year blessed by God. 💙
I love y’all and don’t forget, Jesus loves y’all too! 😊
