I know other shippers have made this list below but, let’s list the behavior of some fans who were NOT in that horrific .1% damaging sector of the fandom.
Kissed Sam without his permission.
Walked onto the stage after a panel to hug Sam, after being told no fans were to approach the stage.
Grabbed Sam’s butt without his permission.
Called a hotel they thought Sam might be staying in.
In contact with a minor who lived near a friend of Sam’s to get “information.”
Forced one of Sam’s best friends to close his account because of rude, disgusting accusations against Sam.
Harassed a single man who has the misfortune of meeting Caitriona and her friends surfing on a beach.
Harrasssd Caitriona’s friends on their SM because they went on a trip with her to surf in Costa Rica.
Accused Sam of potential shady business with MPC when he cancelled a con.
Followed Sam at an airport and stood over him while he was sleeping on an airplane.
Tweeted Caitriona and told her she was a “self-righteous prig and she wasn’t good enough” for Sam.
Harrassing Caitriona and calling her horrible names.
Harrassing other fans and calling them disgusting names, sending them anons and even threatening DMs.
Threatening unborn children of fans.
Sadistic, misogynistic behavior for months towards three young women under the age of 25, while you are two men over the age of 55, knowing the cult-like behavior of thousands of men who idolize you.
Moving to Glasgow and then moving on to the same street as Sam. Approaching Sam while he is packing up his car and talking about it on SM because you don’t even realize you have crossed so many lines at this point. Posting pictures within yards of his home and still not realizing this is no longer fandom behavior but stalking.
Crimes Shippers HAVE committed:
Making gifs and videos with no pay that have been free advertising and spreading them throughout the internet, shared through millions of people.
Becoming a member of MPC, making better lifestyle choices to the point of becoming runners in some who never thought they would.
Raising money for World Child Cancer for four-plus years.
Purchasing Starz to watch one show.
Encouraging friends, relatives and coworkers to watch a tv show.
Opening up blogs and FB groups and twitter accounts to discuss a tv show.
Spending hours the first two years of a tv show voting in every single fan favorite (unrigged) tv show.
Attending cons and paying for flights, hotels, admission, Pictires, and even VIP to meet and spend five minutes tops with actors of a tv show.
Buying every magazine or article that has even a mention of tv show or an interview with cast of tv show.
Purchasing books on poetry, creating art, dolls, calendars, poetry and giving them as gifts to actors.
Being passionate about a show and caring when it jumps the shark, tells entirely different story from the books or storyline or is untrue to the beloved characters which made them fall in love with the tv show in the first place.
Unable to pronounce Balfe” after four years. Nevermind. That wasn’t a shipper. That was an expert of all things Outlander.
