What a strangely bright sight. The woman, or perhaps ‘little girl’ could still be applied, had exceptionally long pink hair. By no means was it shocking to the eye but that shade on someone so small belonged somewhere in Valentidus’ residence. Another pastel puff among his decorations. 

The picture of that girl standing beside an even smaller person prompted a smile to tug at her lips...along with another sensation.

Despite appearances, Safiria found that this girl didn’t belong in front of a sunny backdrop. An evening mist suited her more. 

“How curious,” Safiria noted, regarding the little lady as she touched her chin in thought. “There is a familiar air about you. One that I don’t believe I’ve chanced to brush by in the recent centuries. Ah, good evening nonetheless.” Caught up in old hazy memories, the vampire queen stated a greeting for the sake of manners.

Outside the Hall of Crooked Fingers

There was nothing to fear for the Queen of the Vampires. Not in the dark forest that she considered the courtyard of her palace. Her subjects were nearby but farther than an arm’s length. Sometimes, it was nice to find respite from the soft murmurs of her home’s halls.

But Safiria felt that she wasn’t alone. Definitely not in danger, as far as she could judge, but not alone.

“Braving the night for a jaunt?” Safiria spoke, breaking from her usual address for this quiet moment.

AH it didn’t post on the tag that time either! Maybe I should quit being impatient. Erm besides that, there are lots of things that I’d like to change about the blog design but I can’t figure it out. Mostly the links on the left side bar hmmm. Tags don’t sound as nice either. Ah I’ll give myself more time. Oddly, I feel high strung and nervous about this.

Do you wishme to divulge fodder for the commoners to gossip over? I admit, my subjects andthe subjects of the mortal rulers are similar in that sense. Family, what a farawayword. Perhaps it could be said that every denizen of my domain is family butmake no mistake. A rule must have some distance from their subjects. There arerelatives I can name but time with them is the same as time with acquaintances.I neither miss them nor savor their absence. There is a friend thought. A dearfriend that perhaps no amount of time together is enough. I do see her often ofcourse. I need only gaze at the sky.

It drizzlesfrom time to time. But more often when it rains, the drops leave dents onDarkovia’s grounds. That weather is unpleasant to be caught in. For most, Isuppose. Those stormy stretches remind me of a stroll Amaris and I once took. Aheavy rain began to fall but the moon shone bright through a window in theclouds. It was a rare event that Amaris and I didn’t want to abandon. We shareda parasol and though our clothes were ruined, I can’t say that think unkindlyon the rain since that stroll.

A Gracious Audience

With her arm draped over the arm of her throne, Safiria thoughts drifted to an amusing thought. It had been literal centuries since she had sat with her back straight against the chair when outsiders sought her audience. The Queen did not sit in attention on her throne. She lounged. 

“Perhaps the concerns you bring with you will pique my interest,” Safiria spoke before turning her gaze to her court and the visitor. It many circumstances, mortals would stumble into her palace and she would speak as if knowing exactly what they came for. And that was true save for certain instances such as this. Such an event was rare but was it a treat?

“Now, what brings you to my domain?”
