Was thinking about this the other day and started wondering how common it is for others.
Do y'all eat organ meats (beef/chicken liver, chitlins, chicken gizzard, ect.)?

No
Whether u do or don't, I'd appreciate if u shared and tag what region ur from, plus any other info/opinions u wanna add!
Doctors could name a disorder "Whiny Bitch Disorder" and I assure you that the reaction in the ND community at large would not be "what the fuck is wrong with the psychiatric field and how they think of mentally ill people, we should not allow that name and diagnosis", but rather "PSA: Please don't use 'whiny' and 'bitch' as insults, that's ableist against people with Whiny Bitch Disorder!"

The judge concluded that polyamorous relationships are entitled to the same sort of legal protection given to two-person relationships.
In June [2020], Somerville, Massachusetts, passed an ordinance allowing groups of three or more people who ‘consider themselves to be a family’ to be recognized as domestic partners. The neighboring town of Cambridge followed suit, passing a broader ordinance recognizing multi-partner relationships. The law has proceeded even more rapidly in recognizing that it is possible for a child to have more than two legal parents.”
“Why then,” posited the judge, “… does a person have to be committed to one other person in only certain prescribed ways in order to enjoy stability in housing after the departure of a loved one?”

Ftr I imagine this is similar to the issues of a declawed cat but more severely painful
This is actually severely worse. With a declawed cat they at least still have their pawpads cushioning the bones a little (unless the declaw was extra botched, which I have seen). There’s a reason why, if an animal loses their paw, we typically amputate the whole leg- rare exceptions excluded. And that’s because that low on the limb there’s basically nothing in the way of muscle that you can use to cushion the end of the bones. With no cushion, all you have is skin over bone... and the pressure of the bone on the skin leads to ulcers, which leads to bone sticking through the skin, which lead to chronic infections, which lead to bone infections......... It is every level of badness.
this makes me desperately sad. there’s bones throughout the leg and hoof area of sheep, and from the brief glimpse of the unwrapped legs in the video it looks like there’s basically zero muscle/padding at the end like tales said.
In the video the lambs legs like, don’t move how their legs should, either - they’re extremely unstable, shifting sideways a lot while stepping and not just forward/back, shifting at the knee area in rapid circular motions. Can’t imagine that’s going to be great as she grows up. i’d rather see a wheelchair lamb than this lamb walking on skin-covered bones.
Not a huge shocker when you look at the page of the rescue that took her on after the OP and see shit like this though:
then post their details for donations even though they imply they’re going to have to put down this lamb with brain trauma and infection, but not until waiting it out longer despite it really obviously being a lost cause.
i have no idea what the creators of LA Noire intended for their game to be but it like, has the polar opposite feel of copaganda shows/games to me
me at a party: they don't know I want to explain why "stranger danger" was a reagan propaganda campaign to promote nuclear family "values" and increase police power, which then lead to mass incarceration. they don't know kidnappings in the 80s were purposefully sensationalized in the media and that the claimed statistics were exaggerated. they don't know most children are abused or kidnapped by someone they know, especially a parent, and that isolation of families prevents children from seeking help and support within their communities not available at home.
wait until you learn a lot of "protect our children" rhetoric from politicians has the exact same goal and methods while straying from actual causes of abuse and solutions to it because there's not enough money to be made in the truth
ok I need everyone to know "stranger danger was a propaganda campaign" and "you should use common sense when it comes to trusting strangers" are statements that can coexist...like i'm not saying you should automatically trust strangers, i'm referring to a specific issue during the reagan administration...
The UK is different it’s safe to let cats free roam here!!!
You sure about that?
“But the UK is different!!!” Part 2
“But the UK is different!!!” Part 3
I think it’s always good to point out there’s a different *culture* around outside cats in the UK, but it doesn’t change that they’re still damaging the environment, likely to get killed in horrible ways, etc. From what I’ve seen, a lot of American culture is just viewing cats as.. well, not as important as dogs. Of course, this isn’t always the case, but it’s largely ignorance, not considering them as part of the family, very ‘they can fend for themselves’ attitudes. From my research, the UK does have a hugely different culture around it; they do seem to care for their cats a lot (most seem to be vaccinated, collared, some microchipped which tends to be rarer in the States), think of them like dogs, etc. but it’s more of ‘but cats NEED to go outside.’ They’re both still wrong, and it’s dangerous to the cats as well as environment, but it’s interesting to see.
hi, ive risen from my spell of inactivity to talk about monkeypox. i admittedly don’t know what the tumblr take on the situation has been as I’ve been offline here for a solid few days but i’ve been seeing extremely bad takes on it elsewhere and what to try and address some of the misinfo going on.
A huge issue that people are having (particularly on twitter) is the fact that health professionals are claiming gay/bi men are primarily at risk of monkeypox. This is because the vast majority of recent cases are being reported by men who have sex with men, and notably people with multiple sexual partners. Monkeypox is NOT an STI, but like some other non-STI diseases, can spread easily during sex as it spreads through close contact. People are trying to counter the narrative that is spreading largely through sex currently because they are misunderstanding “it is currently spreading largely through sex” as “the CDC wants to claim its an STD”. It is true you can pick up the virus from non-sexual means (infected person leaving the virus on clothes, blankets, etc; cuddling, breathing in skin flakes, breastfeeding, etc, pregnant people can transmit it to their fetus).
In some states gay/bi men are being prioritized for the vaccine, while supplies are limited. This is a good thing. This part of the issue is not aids-crisis 2.0 - the gov did not give a fuck about gay people dying in the aids crisis and would not have cared to prioritize vaccinating gay men if a vaccine had existed. While monkeypox can and will continue to spread outside of just gay/bi men, it is *not* inaccurate that this is where *most current cases* are appearing.
Where the actual homophobia in the monkeypox issue lies is largely in journalistic reporting poorly framing the issue and in the right wing backlash. There have been multiple articles falsely labelling monkeypox as “the next STI” (it’s not!) and having extremely grim and vague wording around cases of children catching monkeypox - I have seen one where the headline states “two children, who had contact with men who have sex with men,” which is an EXTREMELY concerning way to frame this without better context offered. There are many reputable news sources leaving the connection between gay men and other people getting monkeypox just vague enough for people to draw their own conclusions, especially with the confusion and lack of understanding around whether or not its an STI.
The right wing reaction has been swift in saying the quiet part out loud - many are quite literally claiming children with monkeypox were sexually abused by gay men. This is going to get worse as we get more news about monkeypox and as we return to school in the fall. Stigma is going to be on the rise as more children contract it.
TLDR/Three main takeaways:
Monkeypox is not an STI, but it is *currently true* (in July 2022) that most KNOWN new cases are spreading via sex, because it spreads through close contact and sex involves close contact. It is also spreading in places where very close contact occurs like parties and saunas. Children can catch monkeypox, people not having sex can catch monkeypox, straight people can catch monkeypox, etc. Currently, these people make up a minority of new cases.
Monkeypox is not a ‘gay disease’, but it is *currently true* that most new cases are appearing among sexually active gay/bi men. Here’s an article on safe sex in regards to monkeypox.
*Current* prioritization of gay men for vaccination is a good thing. Time will tell if health orgs stick with this narrative as monkeypox spreads outside of this community or if they will acknowledge it spreading outside of the community. Currently, the homophobia in the monkeypox conversation is coming from right-wingers who are claiming children with monkeypox are being groomed by gay men (#groomers was trending on twitter only a few days ago). Bad journalism is not helping due to vague connections made between gay men and children without specificity and context.
