Link to my long guide to being a character for people who like words
All asks are welcome, just in the longer term I may not be super active here. Don't assume I'm familiar with currently popular characters -- but perhaps you as a character would like to tell me a bit about your exploits and show me what you're about! Feel free to say hi and express yourself, or get something off your chest. Or ask me for
A normal-looking outfit that represents a character. This option is meant to come off as not being weird, but I do lean a bit "overdressed" using a lot of accessories for overdesigned characters. Specify masc/fem/not super feminine but can leave the man box/androgynous/etc. or otherwise I'll default to the character's gender. Also say if everything needs to be plus size, or XS.
A not-so-normal outfit you can buy, like fantasy clothes, cyberpunk/"techwear," steampunk, vampire, etc. Not an accurate-ish replica like a commercial costume, but more durable and not as extremely costumey. You could think of this as a different outfit the character might have in their source. Specify same as above.
Cosplay crafting help/strategy type of questions. Unlike a cosplay blog, you can let me know if you don't want links to tutorials with other cosplayers or something, or if you want an extreme level of realism or something that's more about the first-person experience, like the weight of a weapon.
I looove finding kin home decorating stuff that's practical, but it does tend to be more reliant on knowing the media/harder to research for! If you give some context/specifics/pictures I'll do my best!
General dysphoria relief tips, or if you can give some specifics it helps a lot! Like about what bothers you or what the character's life is like!

Disclaimer 1: Some blogs I may reblog from, tags I may share my posts with, and terms that may come up in that process are associated with a side in discourse here or can be considered questionable to some. When I write original posts here, I try to use the most inoffensive language I can that still gets the point across. However, because resources for this experience are quite limited, I don't filter posts on any such basis. I also don't expect to be able to always keep up with the churn of Tumblr drama, positions, signaling, etc. I'd like to just focus on making support available for longings to be a character. This is a discourse-neutral help/resource blog, maybe occasionally about my fictionfolk experience, nothing that's very spicy or part of an argument. That said, I feel a kinship (no pun intended) to everyone in the atypical dysphoria community and I think all kinds deserve love and aid in at least some form.
Disclaimer 2: I sometimes describe my experience as "wishing to be a character." I'm sorry if that's uncomfortable to relate to for kins, IRLs, DAs, etc. for whom it's important to see themselves as currently being a character, but it doesn't work for me to write around it 100% of the time. It's how I identify and I haven't seen much in terms I really relate to. Please feel free to fill in "wanting to be a character *again/physically/in this life/whatever"* or "the writer of this blog wants to be a character, but I just am one"! It's my blog centered around my experience, but the doors are open to anyone for any reason. No DNI.
