Zazzle (wrapping paper, fabric, MS Paint art prints, + more)
Animals and creatures are my main deal, but I do a lot of fanart too. Things generally stay SFW with occasional horror and gore.
To keep this blog tidy, I also post to @soysville. Sketches, process images/videos, art commentary, gardening, gifsets, and memes go there (it's mostly gifsets and memes).
A bit more about me under the cut:
I love science fiction! I'll watch any adaptation of War of the Worlds (even if I dislike most of them), my fave Dr. Whos are Troughton and Capaldi, I adore the Daleks, and I especially like strange short films and short stories.
My playlists contain music from all over. I like the sound of pop music, but often don't care for the lyrics, so I prefer comedy songs, chiptunes, and songs I don't understand.
I have a kalimba and am always looking for new songs to play
Fish, rodents, invertebrates, and amphibians are my favorite pets. I currently have fish and isopods.
Planted vivarium zone
I'm not much of a gamer, but I like to watch others play. I do Neopets (soyrwoo) and Flight Rising (soyrwoo#23551), though!
If you know of any music, TV shows, musicals or films that you think I'd like, PLEASE send me the titles! Especially if they're obscure or from outside of the USA, UK, or Japan!
The critter in my icon is called The Dennis. The Dennis is part of a group of characters I refer to as the Household Creatures and doesn't understand 3rd-person pronouns when used to refer to The Dennis.
Drawn with half of a purple Crayola crayon that was on the ground in the woods, then painted over in watercolor. I talked about the technique in more depth over on my Blogger blog.
A few weeks ago, I revived my Blogspot account and put together a new blog for the sake of 1) putting my stuff somewhere other than social media, 2) make myself write longer-form posts, and 3) have all my interests and different types of art in one place.
Maybe someday, if there's enough interest, I'll buy a domain and some web space, but for now it's just on Blogger.
It needed a header, so I whipped this up:
That's what blog headers look like, right? Maybe I'll make one for each season with a different stock photo of a friendly-looking white woman holding a different vegetable.
So far, I've got a photography post and a few posts about my ongoing mission to make my own cookie shapes.
I have no idea how clear the message is to other folks, but I'm glad my most popular art on here is one that implies a future without borders or nationalism, and with funding for the sciences.
I got to pick this month's theme for @nulvo's art challenge, so of course I went for freshwater! For too long have marine ecosystems gotten all the glory, let this be the age of rivers, ponds, marshes, swamps, and lakes!
Originally, I had something else planned for my entry, but it involved several species I hadn't drawn before and I was running out of time, so I went with a little tropical fish that's been on my mind.
One of my oldest Neopets was a Kyrii who I just couldn't find the right color for, so I decided to change his species entirely. Now he's a Transparent Cybunny and he's very excited to try apples!
I haven't done much cake decorating, but I love the 12th Dr. Who and I've had this idea ever since I heard about the island cake trend, so I thought I'd finally give it a try for the anniversary c:
My entry for this month's challenge on @nulvo's Discord server, with the theme of you or your characters in Halloween costumes 🎃
I was going to have the Dennis in one of the costumes from the music video for Everybody by the Backstreet Boys, but none of them quite worked, so I opted for Hot Limit by T.M. Revolution. Deborah couldn't be bothered to make a costume.
A piece I did for @nulvo's monthly art challenge c:
This month's theme was "Festival of Flowers," so I went with one of my favorite sights from the local prairies, a hill covered in Liatris.
My scanner isn't a fan of magenta, so this is more purple in person. Maybe I'll get it to a better scanner someday, but until then, we'll just have to deal with unusually blue Liatris.
Featured plants: Liatris pycnostachya (prairie blazing star), Helianthus occidentalis (western sunflower), Parthenium integrifolium (wild quinine), Asclepias tuberosa (butterfly weed)
Made with fineliners, watercolor, colored pencil, and water-based brush pens
