Hey friends. I’m very sorry for asking for your assistance again, but we had something happen that was totally out of our control.

I live in Boone County, West Virginia, and there were some pretty bad floods close to my area. We were not affected by the flood, but our power did go out. It was out since 3:30PM yesterday (Thurs. Sept 27th) and it just came back on today around 2:40PM (Fri, Sept. 28th). 

So our power was out for almost 24 hours. We didn’t open our fridge and were able to get food by going out, but we unfortunately when the power came back on, we found that we have lost almost $100 worth of groceries in our fridge because they were spoiled. At this time we don’t think the power company will be compensating anyone for these losses, though I’ve been told to look into it and I am doing so.

It sucks because we just bought these groceries- and while we’ve been able to buy some more in the meantime, it’s really set us back. Art is my only form of income, so I pay for my debt payments, utilities, AND food to keep me and my partner fed.

Hey Im a huge fan of your artwork, especially the way you draw bodies! I was wondering where you find your references c: Or if you dont use refs anymore, where/how did you learn to draw anatomy?

i dont use reference and i never rly have at least in the way i think you mean? the way i practice art is i binge practice…so just fill many pages with the same thing, i just look up whatever it is on google images or some other image search site and just draw from that and try to saturate my brain and understand that thing from all angles

then when i go to draw something i’ll just have the reference in my head 

i dont like looking at photos of naked ppl 2 study anatomy so i general look at old art like this

so when i draw bodies i try to think of the over all silhouette and make that balanced and dynamic…

then i think about the interaction of the body with itself…like arms pressing against the torso or legs pressed together…and communicate THAT not the…actually shape of the limb/torso

idk if that makes any sense but thats what i do lol
