I've received a few anon messages from Michael Jackson fans, all generally civil, but I want to let you guys know it isn't necessary. I'm not going to be persuaded. I was an obsessive fan between 2008 and 2012. I knew all the talking points and counter arguments and facts. I embarrassed myself in front of friends and peers, fought with family, and shunned my best friend's husband all while defending my hero. And then I just snapped out of it. I guess I just realized fandom is not a way of life and my identity no longer revolved around being an MJ fan on a crusade to spread the "truth."

After watching this documentary, I regret every wasted moment and every wasted breath I spent on defending him. I was truly convinced he was innocent but in hindsight, I realize that it required a lot of willful ignorance. As convincing as the whole "the accusers just want money" argument is, I can no longer excuse or ignore what is blatantly obvious. There's no good reason for a grown man to sleep with children. The creepy I love you phone calls and faxes... no fucking way is that normal. I don't care how famous you are. And I don't want to hear that "he didn't have a childhood" sob story. That doesn't give him the right to destroy anyone else's childhood.

Fuck Michael Jackson and fuck his legacy. You guys can go ahead and renounce him. You'll feel so much better.

Edit: also, note how all the offical accusers come from lower income families. Of course the child celebrities can claim MJ never touched them. He probably didn't. He knew exactly what he was doing. But when a kid from nowhere with nothing accuses him? He probably knew it would go down exactly like the way it has since the 90s. Everyone thinks it's just some greedy parents looking for easy money, case closed.

And that makes this even more chilling. I almost feel physically ill when I think of how sure I was of his innocence when this whole time, he was just a genius of manipulation and cold calculation. Burn in Hell, Applehead 🤗
