Space Apps / Science Hack Day Team Up!

Space Apps Chicago is officially teaming up with Science Hack Day to deliver onto you one mega-hackathon this April 12th and 13th! 

Science Hack Day brings together software developers, designers, artists, scientists, and educators to pitch projects and collaborate on awesome ideas. A couple of my favorites from last year's event:

Galaxy Karaoke used information from Galaxy Zoo to spell out song lyrics with real galaxies (bend galaxies to your linguistic will at their project site).

Ever wonder how far into the future you're traveled as a result of air-travel-related time dilation? Of course you have. You're only human. Spacetime Shift uses TripIt or Dopplr data to calculate how far in the future you now are, as well as what fraction of the distance to the moon you've traversed. Pretty cool, right?

It's official!

Chicago will be hosting a Space Apps Challenge on April 12th and 13th, 2014! This is a first for our city, and we can’t wait to see what you guys come up with. Stay tuned for details as we assemble our team and amass glorious swag.
