Two new Solo: A Star Wars Story images have been making the rounds on social media! The first is presumably Han, and the second is Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra donning a red cape and being followed by franken-droid.

Solo Teaser Breakdown (pt. 1)

We open on Stormtroopers rounding up civilians in a giant hall. The Imperial flag reigns.

An Imperial officer sits down a man wearing a hat (probably Solo, unless this is misdirection).

-“So you want to make a difference?”

-“Yeah.”

-“Trust me, you’re gonna love it.”

A Star Destroyer in the eye of a storm. An image I didn’t know I needed to see until right now.

TIEs deploying from the bottom of this Destroyer.

The same officer and Hat Man, but this time in a different location.

“And which branch are you interested in joining?”

Han and Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke) in the middle of a speeder race. Rumors have pointed to this taking place on Han’s home planet of Corellia.

“I’m gonna be a pilot. Best in the galaxy.”

It’s hard for me not to get hung up on the little differences between Alden Ehrenreich and Harrison Ford, especially in the voice.

The famous walls of the Millennium Falcon, but this time pristine and white.

Never thought I would want to see Han Solo in a fur coat either, but here we are.

Woody Harrelson is in this movie!

This movie is aesthetically wild. And I gotta say, I’m definitely looking forward to the striking images that Ron Howard has in store for us.

As far as story goes, this is just a teaser, so we haven’t gotten that much yet. We do know that Han is signing up to be a part of the Empire for some reason. Maybe A New Hope isn’t the first time he dons the Stormtrooper armor.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer

When will the first Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer premiere? Making Star Wars has heard some credible rumors that we’ll be getting two releases very soon!

“When it comes to Solo: A Star Wars Story, a shorter version of the teaser will hit on the Super Bowl and a longer version of the teaser will follow shortly thereafter during the following week,“ MSW’s sources say.

In case you don’t want to watch the Super Bowl just for a trailer, the shortened trailer will most likely be posted on the official Star Wars YouTube page. At least, that’s how it’s been the last three movies.

This movie is probably the hardest sell (a non-Harrison Han Solo?) so I hope they have a pretty killing trailer to ease our doubts. Either way, I’m looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday!

Wild and Unfounded Star Wars Predictions

But if they come true I get to fist pump the air because I was right all along.

-Solo: a Star Wars Story will be the first Star Wars movie to not feature a lightsaber.

-One of the early Episode IX teasers will feature a shot of General Leia, prompting everyone to freak out and think they CG’d Carrie Fisher into the new movie. But when the movie comes out, we’ll see that it’s just a deleted scene from The Last Jedi, repurposed for IX.

-Disney won’t announce another episodic trilogy any time soon. Episode IX will pass without a word from Kathy Kennedy about 10-12.

-Episode IX will pick back up with the tradition of a 2-3 year time jump between movies. Rey will be more powerful, Kylo will be fully playing the part of Supreme Leader, and Poe will have been promoted to a place high up in the Resistance.

-IX will also feature Finn, now fully devoted to the cause, trying to prove himself as a Resistance leader. But some of his soldiers will question him and his background as a Stormtrooper. Part of Finn’s journey will be overcoming this backlash.

-And now the most wild and unfounded of all: Episode IX will be called Balance in the Force.

The Last Jedi Act 3 Outline

Written on November 15, 2017.

The Supremacy

Rey is taken to the throne room of Supreme Leader Snoke. Snoke recognizes what an asset Rey would be if she were to turn to the dark side, so he pulls a classic Star Wars villain and tries to convince Rey to join him.

Major reveals are kept heavily under wraps, but one could speculate that this is an optimal time for Snoke to say something about his or Rey’s backstory that would shake her, and us, to the core.

She won’t budge so easily, though. So he uses a more extreme form of persuasion: the Force. Kylo Ren watches, conflicted, as this happens.

On the other side of the ship, Finn and Rose are finally completing their mission. They help a group of at least five Resistance soldiers sneak into a hangar. They then proceed to set off bombs, causing destruction everywhere you look.

But with the First Order it’s never that easy. Captain Phasma, Finn’s nemesis, storms in with her posse of Stormtroopers, dead set on revenge.

A huge fight breaks out! For Finn and Phasma, though, nobody else matters except their ultimate enemy. They duke it out one on one.

Finn: Come on!

The hangar collapses around them as they fight to the death. But it’s not just the hangar collapsing, as the destruction spreads to more and more parts of the ship.

Snoke loses his grip on Rey as even the throne room starts to collapse. Rey knows that this is her only chance to escape, so she runs. It’s not that easy, though, as the Praetorian guards are after her. She tries to fight them off…

…but their sheer numbers are overwhelming. She looks around desperately for a way out, and she finds it:

We can see from the falling debris and smoke behind him that Kylo Ren is indoors, in a burning room. And although in the trailer the cut from Rey saying “I need someone to show me my place in all this” is clearly a different scene, I believe the spirit of that edit will make it into the film, with Kylo deciding to help for once. He fights off the staff-wielding Praetorian guards…

…and he doesn’t stop Rey as she runs away, searching for a way off the ship.

Although Kylo just began to redeem himself, he’s not done being a pawn for the First Order just yet. This whole time the First Order Supremacy was going towards one of the last Resistance bases on Crait, where Leia and Poe are now!

The First Order launches their attack!

For the first time in the whole movie, Leia, Poe, Finn, Rose, Rey, and Kylo are on the same planet, fighting in the same conflict!

I can’t predict who will win or lose, who will live or die in this battle. I also can’t predict what the final shots of the movie will be. But I’m fairly confident that the timeline and the descriptions, of at least most of the scenes, will be true to what we see exactly a month from now. I hope you liked this extensive outline, and I hope you’re as excited for The Last Jedi as I am!

THE LAST JEDI SPOILERS AHEAD

-The reason the Supremacy is collapsing is due to Vice Admiral Holdo’s sacrifice, but most of the goings on of that ship are the same as in the outline.

-Kylo does help Rey fight the Praetorian Guards off, but it’s so much more than that! Rey’s parents are revealed, Snoke meets his fate, and the two young Force-users fight it out over who gets to lead the galaxy.

I’m glad I didn’t try to predict what happened on Crait, because there’s absolutely no way I would have guessed what Rian Johnson had in store for us on that planet. I’m ridiculously satisfied by how this film turned out, and the heated reactions from...certain fans...just go to show how risky The Last Jedi was. And if you ask me, that risk paid off.

The Last Jedi Act 2 Outline

Written on November 15, 2017.

Ahch-To

Luke takes Rey to a cave on Ahch-To. He instructs her to dive into the water, and so she does.

Down there, she finds something that shocks her.

According to some particularly long-lasting rumors, Rey could find, and then have to fight, a sea monster. Otherwise, she could find Luke’s old X-wing submerged in water.

The Supremacy

The Supremacy is closing in on the Raddus’ location. Kylo Ren is told that he must attack it, killing his mother along with the ship.

In a fit, he destroys his helmet.

The Supremacy

Finn, Rose, and DJ steal First Order Officers’ uniforms and sneak onto the Supremacy. The mission is to infiltrate the Supremacy, sneak a team of Resistance troopers on board, and then destroy as much of the enemy Star Destroyer as possible.

How they get on board themselves is unclear - but it’s possible that DJ uses his aforementioned connections with the First Order to get his ship into enemy territory under false pretenses.

The Raddus - Deep Space

What’s left of the Resistance fleet is making its way to the Supremacy in order to carry out the mission that Finn and Rose started. But before they can sneak up on the First Order, the First Order sneaks up on them!

Kylo dispatches his TIE Silencer from the Supremacy, surprise attacking the Raddus, with Leia and Poe on board. Kylo is winning this fight, and he flies closer to the Raddus, giving himself a clean shot that would hit Leia. But he hesitates for too long; he can’t bring himself to kill his mother.

He does end up shooting and it drastically hurts the Resistance fleet, and Leia is caught in the crossfire. She is badly injured, but not dead. The survivors of this attack scramble on the ships that are still intact and flee the scene.

Holdo’s Ship - Deep Space

Vice Admiral Holdo speaks to the ragtag team of beaten down Resistance fighters. She says that Leia is badly injured, though she’s being treated, and that Holdo herself is now the interim leader of the Resistance. She says some things that turn Poe and most of the crew against her. It’s highly likely that she wants to change course and cut their losses, so instead of helping Finn and Rose they would just flee.

Later, Poe confronts Holdo about this. He is tired and on the run, but he insists that they should continue to fight.

“We are the spark that will light the fire that will burn the First Order down.”

Ahch-To

Rey and Luke reach the peak of their disagreement. Rey is trying to deal with the immense power inside of her, unsure of how to control it. But Luke is only denying her training, pushing his cynical worldview on her.

Luke: This is not going to go the way you think!

She ignites her lightsaber. It is unclear why as of now.

The Supremacy

Finn has a run-in with a Stormtrooper (rumored to be played by Tom Hardy). At first it looks like Finn has been found out, but then the Stormtrooper laughs and congratulates him on his promotion from Stormtrooper to Officer.

Holdo’s Ship - Deep Space

Poe leads a mutiny. Holding Vice Admiral Holdo at blaster-point, he and the Resistance fighters that are left take over the ship.

Based on what happens next, it is highly likely that Poe and Leia take a ship to one of the last remaining Resistance bases on Crait. A separate crew continues to the Supremacy to carry out their mission.

Ahch-To

Rey leaves Ahch-To - whether it is of her own volition or because she’s been captured is unclear - and finds herself on the Supremacy, in Snoke’s throne room.

One possibility that aligns with some of the rumors that have been around since the beginning is this:

Snoke sends Kylo Ren and the rest of the Knights of Ren down to Ahch-To. Luke Skywalker ignites the green lightsaber and fights back with incredible skill, killing many of the Knights of Ren. Kylo Ren himself is almost defeated, but he flees to the nearby ruins of an ancient city. It is here that he finally captures Rey and takes her back to the Mega Star Destroyer with him.

Determined to save her, Chewbacca takes to the Millennium Falcon. He didn’t know, however, that a porg was on board when he took off!

THE LAST JEDI SPOILERS AHEAD

-Rey is pulled into the water by the Force, not per Luke’s instruction. What she sees in the cave, I don’t think I could have predicted if I tried.

-Rose and Finn’s plan has to do with the hyperspace tracking, not blowing up the ship.

-The Tom Hardy Stormtrooper rumor turned out to be just that: a rumor.

-Holdo is revealed to not be the villain after all, and Poe needed to get his head out of the cockpit.

-The rumor involving Kylo and the Knights of Ren on Ahch-To was also just a rumor. Rey leaves Ahch-To because of her Force-bond with Kylo and the visions she saw.

With the exception of some bold choices made by filmmaker Rian Johnson, the structure and plot of the film was correctly predicted in this outline so far.

The Last Jedi Act 1 Outline

Written on November 15, 2017.

We open on Ahch-To. Rey finally does what we’ve been waiting two years for: she gives Luke the lightsaber.

But Luke is afraid. He doesn’t want more powerful Force users, as he’s seen what it did to the galaxy when Kylo Ren was turned to the dark side. We see a further flashback of Luke watching his temple burn down.

This opening scene lasts for about 10 minutes.

D’Qar

After the destruction of Starkiller base, the First Order takes to locating the Resistance’s base on D’Qar and ambushing it. They send three warships, including at least one Dreadnought - a new terrifying class of Star Destroyer.

The Raddus is the Resistance’s main ship, and it’s fleeing the planet. On it now, Poe asks his commander to retaliate against this surprise attack.

Poe: Permission to jump in an X-wing and blow something up?

Leia: Permission granted.

Poe does just that.

The Resistance deploys bombers to attack the onslaught from the First Order’s fleet. They take heavy damage, but at least all the main characters have escaped.

The Supremacy

The Supremacy is Snoke’s personal ship, and it’s the only ship of the “mega-destroyer” class.

On it, Supreme Leader Snoke, clad in his gold robe, gives Kylo Ren his villainous pep talk: “When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power. And beyond that, something truly special.”

We are also shown that Captain Phasma did not die in the trash compactor - rather, she is alive, and out for revenge. There’s a special class of First Order Stormtrooper: the Executioners, which are tasked with killing any Trooper that shows signs of dissent. These special forces are Phasma’s posse throughout the movie.

The Raddus - Deep Space

Finn finally awakes from his space coma, and he’s healthier than ever. He reunites with his fellow Resistance members - Leia, Poe, BB-8 and several new people, the sisters Paige and Rose Tico.

Rose is no hero as of yet - she’s just a mechanic. She idolizes Finn because of how much she’s heard of his exploits on Starkiller base. When she meets him, though, he’s more concerned with running from the First Order than being a hero. This is a little disappointing for Rose to hear.

We also see Leia speak with one of her underlings in the Resistance: Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo.

Played by Laura Dern, Holdo is aristocratic and fancy, but she’s got ambitions of ranking higher in the Resistance. These ambitions will make her an enemy in the future.

Ahch-To

Luke and Rey walk to this mysterious object - known by fans as the Force Tree.

In it is a small library of ancient books (paper hasn’t existed in the Star Wars universe for hundreds of years, which means these are really old). Rey reads one of them - maybe it’s the Journal of the Whills - and Luke tells her more of his beaten down worldview. He says these now famous words:

“I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end.”

Unknown Location

Rose and Finn meet with Maz Kanata for information. The Resistance needs a splicer (basically a Star Wars hacker), and Maz knows just the guy and where he is. Be warned, though, he’s a good hacker, not necessarily a good person.

Canto Bight

Finn and Rose come to this heavily policed casino city in search of DJ, the splicer that Maz told them about. BB-8 comes along on the mission. They learn that this city is proud of its Fathier races - Fathiers are space horses, and the citizens of Canto Bight bet on which horse will win the race.

Finn and Rose eventually find the jail where DJ is detained, and they bring a splicer of their own to help them break him out.

But the police catch them in the act! Rose, Finn, and DJ flee through the city as the cops chase them on their speeders. Finn and Rose get on one of these Fathiers:

Possibly to outrun the cops. It’s a tense chase full of crashes and explosions, but they get safely back to DJ’s ship.

DJ really is a shady character. He profits off of this civil war, sometimes working for the Resistance, sometimes the First Order. But somehow Finn and Rose convince him to help on their mission.

Their mission? Infiltrating the Supremacy: Supreme Leader Snoke’s personal Star Destroyer.

Now that the movie’s out we’re getting into real spoiler territory here so...

THE LAST JEDI SPOILERS AHEAD

There’s only a few differences from this outline and the movie:

-The order is different: the evacuation of D’Qar happens first, then Finn waking up, then Rey talking to Luke.

-Paige Tico is already dead by the time Finn is awake.

-DJ isn’t the one that Maz tells them about - he’s just kind of there.

-Several character reveals are saved for later, namely Captain Phasma and Vice Admiral Holdo.

-I didn’t predict that the First Order’s light-speed tracking would be what leads Finn and Rose to go on their mission.

Yousa in Big Spoilers This Time

I thought Star Wars’ new ‘VIII More Days’ spot was gonna be just like any other teaser: a remix of shots we’ve already seen. There were some fun new shots, but I was really just mildly interested.

Poe taking out some TIE fighters on the First Order Dreadnought. Nice.

An Executioner lighting up his weapon. That’s cool, we haven’t seen that before!

Wait--

Is that Rey wielding Kylo’s lightsaber? In Snoke’s throne room? Fighting off the Praetorian guards?

This is awesome! Why would they show us this plot twist? This is awesome!

You know me, I’m not exactly allergic to spoilers, but even I’m confused as to why Lucasfilm put this huge spoiler in a teaser before the movie.

Jason Ward from Making Star Wars made this coy remark:

“It appears as if Rey actually borrows Kylo Ren’s crossbar lightsaber and she’s right next to Snoke’s machine that is apparently central to the plot (I’m playing dumb). I would assume he gets really nervous about Rey’s position in this moment.“

So that machine behind her? That’s not just a Star Wars-y decoration. That’s important, and Snoke doesn’t want Rey getting near it.

Also, if you look at the Praetorian guards in this shot, they have laser-sword-type weapons, similar but not identical to a lightsaber.

There’s a lot here to unpack, and I’ll leave you all to speculation and excitement. Only one more week until we can see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters!

On it, Supreme Leader Snoke, clad in his gold robe, gives Kylo Ren his villainous pep talk: “When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power. And beyond that, something truly special.”

We are also shown that Captain Phasma did not die in the trash compactor - rather, she is alive, and out for revenge. There’s a special class of First Order Stormtrooper: the Executioners, which are tasked with killing any Trooper that shows signs of dissent. These special forces are Phasma’s posse throughout the movie.

The Raddus - Deep Space

Finn finally awakes from his space coma, and he’s healthier than ever. He reunites with his fellow Resistance members - Leia, Poe, BB-8 and several new people, the sisters Paige and Rose Tico.

Rose is no hero as of yet - she’s just a mechanic. She idolizes Finn because of how much she’s heard of his exploits on Starkiller base. When she meets him, though, he’s more concerned with running from the First Order than being a hero. This is a little disappointing for Rose to hear.

We also see Leia speak with one of her underlings in the Resistance: Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo.

Played by Laura Dern, Holdo is aristocratic and fancy, but she’s got ambitions of ranking higher in the Resistance. These ambitions will make her an enemy in the future.

Ahch-To

Luke and Rey walk to this mysterious object - known by fans as the Force Tree.

In it is a small library of ancient books (paper hasn’t existed in the Star Wars universe for hundreds of years, which means these are really old). Rey reads one of them - maybe it’s the Journal of the Whills - and Luke tells her more of his beaten down worldview. He says these now famous words:

“I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end.”

Unknown Location

Rose and Finn meet with Maz Kanata for information. The Resistance needs a splicer (basically a Star Wars hacker), and Maz knows just the guy and where he is. Be warned, though, he’s a good hacker, not necessarily a good person.

Canto Bight

Finn and Rose come to this heavily policed casino city in search of DJ, the splicer that Maz told them about. BB-8 comes along on the mission. They learn that this city is proud of its Fathier races - Fathiers are space horses, and the citizens of Canto Bight bet on which horse will win the race.

Finn and Rose eventually find the jail where DJ is detained, and they bring a splicer of their own to help them break him out.

But the police catch them in the act! Rose, Finn, and DJ flee through the city as the cops chase them on their speeders. Finn and Rose get on one of these Fathiers:

Possibly to outrun the cops. It’s a tense chase full of crashes and explosions, but they get safely back to DJ’s ship.

DJ really is a shady character. He profits off of this civil war, sometimes working for the Resistance, sometimes the First Order. But somehow Finn and Rose convince him to help on their mission.

Their mission? Infiltrating the Supremacy: Supreme Leader Snoke’s personal Star Destroyer.

Rey, Finn, and Kylo on the Supremacy (Trailer Breakdown pt. 4)

I just realized that Finn and Rey might meet again sooner than I thought. Here’s how I got to that conclusion.

The Mysterious Bombing Scene

For a while I’ve gone back and forth about this scene description:

It’s using code names to protect TLJ secrets in case it ever got out (good thing, cause it did), but luckily they’re not the most cryptic codes in the world. ‘Cast 7′ means Rose Tico, played by Kelly Marie Tran - that medallion they mention probably means this:

A moon-shaped necklace that Tran has described as “definitely something that is significant to Rose’s backstory...It has significance that is, to me, something that means more than just what the object itself is.” 

The ‘Grizzly’ means Resistance fighters. The affectionate ‘Sugar Cubes’ was used for Stormtroopers. According to extra reports, there were 5 Resistance Fighters and 22 Stormtroopers on set.

So what does ‘100 Acre Wood’ mean? All the rumors surrounding this ‘100 Acre Wood’ suggested that it was a code for a new ‘Mega Star Destroyer.’ I thought this was more figurative than literal, and it meant a Star Destroyer that was huge. Because of this, I thought that ‘100 Acre Wood’ could have been one of the new dreadnought Star Destroyers.

But it turns out ‘Mega’ is a real class of ship, and there’s only one ship that fits this mega description.

The Supremacy

This is Snoke’s ship in The Last Jedi. His throne room is located here:

(Yes, that’s General Hux.)

And it’s where Kylo Ren is taken after the events of The Force Awakens. It’s also where Rey will eventually be taken in TLJ:

Need a bit more proof?

Look at that diagonal wall to Kylo’s left, then at the same wall right behind Phasma. This is the same location.

This means that Finn, Rose, DJ, Kylo Ren, Rey, Phasma, Hux, and Snoke are all passengers on the same ship at one point or another; maybe even at the same time.

The Supremacy Hangar

Wow it looks like that Supremacy hangar is trashed. One would even go so far as to guess it was......bombed.......by the Resistance.

It almost looks like there could be at least........22 of them.

The Reunion

The Finn/Phasma duel scene matches the description I was talking about. It takes place at a climax in Rose and Finn’s journey, so probably near the end of the film. Rose and Finn enlisted the help of DJ to sneak on board the dreaded First Order Supremacy, and now they’ve snuck several Resistance fighters on board to blow the place up. But Phasma and her army isn’t giving up, and it’s up to Finn to fight his nemesis off!

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the ship, this is happening:

Rey has also been taken onto the Supremacy, and she’s in the middle of a heated conflict with Supreme Leader Snoke. The next bit is less clear cut, but in the midst of the havoc wreaked by the Resistance, Finn and Rose somehow find each other, because soon after we get this:

A shot from the Behind the Scenes reel of Daisy and John (Rey and Finn) on the planet Crait. How else would this happen other than by them meeting again on the Supremacy and escaping to the nearest planet - Crait?

There’s still some questions - what happened to Rose and DJ? - but it provides a lot of insight into the timeline and the conflict that we’re gonna see in Episode VIII. Is there anything I missed or any cool implications this might have? Let me know! I’m more excited than ever for The Last Jedi to hit theaters on December 15.

Three Things

2. I just figured something out today that’s gonna make predicting the timeline of The Last Jedi a lot easier. That post is coming tomorrow.

3. This Wednesday - a month before the release - I’m gonna post an outline of the whole movie based on everything we know so far. That’s gonna be my last attempt at predicting what happens; after that I just wanna be along for the ride on the Episode VIII hype train!

Benicio? Is that you?

This is from Star Wars’ Directing The Last Jedi behind the scenes video. And I’m convinced that that’s Benicio del Toro’s character DJ in the background.

This is an official picture of him in costume, presumably on his own ship.

Making Star Wars revealed a few months ago that Maz Kanata was to introduce Finn and Rose to a mysterious old ally of hers, known by us as DJ. We also know that DJ is found on the new casino city Canto Bight.

What we didn’t know until this new behind the scenes video was that DJ goes on to infiltrate the Dreadnought - the new First Order Star Destroyer - with his new ‘friends’ Finn and Rose.

Ben Acker, who is writing the one shot DJ comic which will come out in January 2018, described DJ’s worldview as “a more complicated and, in many ways, darker perspective than we’ve seen in the Star Wars universe.”

Based on the set pictures we got last year, I’ve speculated that DJ is going to be broken out of prison in Canto Bight. I’m sticking by this theory; I believe it makes all the stuff we’ve seen so far make sense.

This new picture also makes it really easy to track this plotline:

-Finn and Rose meet Maz Kanata

-They break DJ out of prison on Canto Bight

-All three of them infiltrate the First Order Dreadnought

-They bomb a hangar

-This happens:

DJ definitely seems like a very interesting and mysterious character, and Finn and Rose’s journeys are going to revolve quite a bit around him. We probably won’t get that much more of him until The Last Jedi comes out, but that’s only a little more than a month away!

Who’s on Crait? (trailer breakdown pt. 2)

To recap all we know about Crait: long ago it was Rebel occupied mining planet, full of gems/crystals which would fund their rebellion efforts. At the time of TLJ, the Resistance has done the exact same thing with the planet…until the First Order comes with Heavy Assault Walkers.

The planet has a very distinct look. Above ground, it’s all salt-colored off-white with red powder just under the surface. Below, there are black rocks everywhere with the red still peeking through.

Let’s do a role call of all the characters that show up on Crait!

Kylo Ren…

…and a bunch of troopers.

The Falcon makes it underground, giving us a better glimpse of the valuable crystals that Crait holds. Who’s piloting the Falcon, you ask?

This could be a different scene, but based on the editing it seems like Chewie and Porg are behind the controls! The Falcon’s presence suggests that the Crait battle doesn’t take place in the beginning of the film - unless Chewie and Artoo fucked off immediately after Rey found Luke, which would be kind of a jerk move.

Ice foxes! Note the shape of the door and the color of the ground outside, because this will help us place the next shot…

Leia Organa-Solo! This means that the battle doesn’t happen near the end of the film either, because as we’ve learned from Making Star Wars (who is right about everything) Leia gets badly injured during a later battle, leaving a power vacuum for Poe and Vice Admiral Holdo to fight over.

Could Finn and Rey also be on Crait? This BTS shot of John and Daisy dancing on a set that looks exactly like Crait seems to prove it. (Unless director Rian Johnson invited them over on their break to have a little dance party.)

To recap: Kylo, Chewie, Finn, Rey, and Leia are likely all present on Crait.

Personally, I’m kind of surprised how many people are on this planet, presumably at the same time. For a movie where everyone’s off doing their own thing, this is like a family reunion. Could this indicate that it doesn’t happen until late in the movie? Or was the trailer/BTS reel deceptive and there aren’t actually that many major characters there?
